    Great show
    One of my favorites

    Odd pacing
There's some great moments in here, specifically early on when you're guessing what's going on. The pacing gets worse as the series progresses, at least from the perspective of someone wanting more horror/drama than romances. The unreliable narrator aspect is interesting, but I did find it a bit frustrating in here with how often things happened "off screen" to kill any tension the story had.

    Favorite pod drama
The finale made it worth EVERY SINGLE SECOND. If you think it’s slow in the beginning, I beg you to finish. It gets better with every episode. The twists, reveals, foreshadowing, all masterfully crafted and laid out perfectly. I even cried at that one episode in season 3 🥹 But the finale had me on the edge of my seat and I had goosebumps all over. Amazing writing, incredible story, beautiful character development, absolute 10/10.

    Amazing Podcast
Honestly it just got better as a I continued listening! This podcast had me hooked like no other audio drama I have listened to. I loved the characters and how they developed throughout the story. I’m sad it’s over now, and wish there was another season! Don’t want to say goodbye 🥺 if you aren’t sure, keep listening past the first half of season 1, it does pay off.

    Not bad
Not bad but thank goodness you can fast forward the theme song 🙉

    Very disappointing
I couldn’t get past the first episode. The opening was horrible. The dialogue sounds like a 12 yr old wrote it. The woke parts didn’t bother me so much. They were annoying but easily ignored, but age is not a social construct. That’s where I ended it. Whoever is writing this is trying to sound open minded and aware, but is just making up stupid ish and trying to pawn it off as being intelligent

    Go woke Go broke
I really enjoyed this podcast. It’s a shame, though that they had to be woke and had to have thrown their politics into it. A lot of us like to listen to these things so that we can escape from the politics. It be nice if you could find out that’s not also indoctrinated with misguided wokeness

    Amazing
One of the best podcasts I’ve listened too 10/10 would recommend

Excellent story and acting - truly great writing
Truly one of the best out there. Several awesome plot twists through seasons 1 and 2 (I'm on 3 now) - including the identity of the at-times cringy narrator. (There. Is. A. Reason!!) The writing is satisfyingly complicated, funny, emotional, and tight - things always loop back to where they started. No loose ends. It's really, really good.

    Good overall
Was back and forth enjoying and being annoyed by this podcast. Funny and engaging but I had to stop after one too many white man bashing comments. Too bad because overall entertaining
  • This is Jen's Nickname
    Good concept, poor execution
I love the idea, and I listened to most of the first season hoping I could get past the overwrought narration and godawful theme song. But I can’t, so I’m done. The narrator pulls me out of the story every time he speaks, because his hyper dramatic delivery is so annoying.
  • Dos1981
    Typical
Great story the first few seasons. Then typically as they ran out of story it was filled with mostly interpersonal relationships. Where someone feels inadequate and their friends convince them otherwise; repeat with 5 min of actual story. Glad it’s over but could have been much better if not dragged out.

    Hope for season 4
Truly loved this podcast! Hope to see a season 4! It was silly at times, but overall, it kept my attention, made me feel for the characters, and had engaging storylines.
  • Sandaker1
    Great till season 3
Liked the story but I hated when they did the live show/ laugh tracks. Lost me there

I took some time today to listen to your show!! The Hidden People is a fantastic podcast with a great storyline, and perspectives. You won't regret listening to and learning from the podcast.

    Yikes
I agree with a lot of the other reviews. I wanted it to be good, but I just couldn't get into it. Mackenna is terrible! The theme song is even worse.
  • ayanaaxxo
    Amazing!
Such a good podcast! The story is very unique, the voice actors are great, the sound effects are on point every time. I get so excited every time I get notified of a new episode and instantly turn it on.
  • Filmeng
    Unbelievably amateurish
I’m in shock at how abysmally amateurish this show is. It’s as if a group of college friends decided to put together a drama, but none of them had any training or experience. Acting is on par with community theater, with actors reading the scripts rather than being the characters. The effects applied to the narrator’s voice are juvenile. Dialogue is dreadful. Don’t waste your time with this show.
  • gride6
    Not bad
Story good. acting ok. not a fan of the narrator. With that said, i’ll probably keep at it

If you were looking for a new podcast!
I absolutely cannot recommend this show enough! It is extremely well produced, the acting is delightful, and the music really ties everything together. Thank you to the whole teamWho put it on and make it all possible! I can’t wait for the next season!!
  • Megcrabtree
Draws you in and you can’t stop listening.
This podcast is terrific. The characters are rich and the story lines pull you into them and you can’t stop. It’s so so good! Plus 22 episodes a season!!! Wow!
  • ladymcclellan
Funny, intense, and exciting! Keeps you on the edge of your seat
Easy binger…. I know I binged it all ridiculously fast! Great characters & character development. a wonderful storyline I didn’t see coming that has left me wanting more.
  • RUN AWAAAYYY!!!
Season three steps it up - again!
Just when you thought the storytelling/acting/sound design had peaked, this seasons opener raises the bar. Every aspect is better, and it was already an astounding show. Try it- you won’t be disappointed!

    Listen to We’re Alive instead
Sad thing is that the concept is top tier but this show is trash. I forced myself to get to the mid point of season 2 hoping I would like these people but they are all just insufferable. This is the most privileged group of people who think the world owes them something. I honestly wanted Mack to die in every episode she is just the worst. Save yourself some time and pain and just read or do anything else.
  • Boogaloo815
    Pretty good.
They story is engaging and keeps me coming back. Started with season one and am on episode 20. So intrigued of where this story is going. The narrator, however, not a fan. His voice. It doesn’t seem to belong to the story. Almost like a cheesy commentary. Also, the theme song doesn’t seem to fit and is honestly just not good and extremely annoying. Maybe cut it?
  • Jizzywizzyass
    ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!
Not only is the story captivating , but the voice acting and production of this podcast is top of the line. If you need to escape from your everyday life and find yourself engulfed in an incredible story then this is the podcast for u. Thank u and I can not wait for second half season 3.
  • Writer of Words
    Improves SO much
It’s a shame that the first ten episodes are the worst ten episodes, but if you get through them, the rest is so rewarding. You can tell which reviews only listened to the first few. Season 2 and season 3 (so far) just keep getting better. Highly recommend it if you can get past (or skip) some of the early episodes. Mackenna’s attitude ends up making sense and really developing. The narrator ends up playing a major role. The song goes away. The sound quality really improves. It goes from meh to amazing.
  • Me x 7
    No likeable characters
Yes, there are many not great elements in this one, I will agree with many of them. For me the “teen” detective and completely unbelievable police procedures stood as the worst of it. There is an ok story and I am not giving up quite yet but it definitely needs some polishing. I applaud the effort, so 3 instead of my gut of 2 stars. MacKenna is insufferable, not sure what is to blame, bad acting or bad guidance, if she were killed off it would definitely help.
  • burritoboylovesanime
    Really enjoying
I started listening to this podcast about a couple weeks ago and have enjoyed every second, from the characters to the story everything is well done.
  • DSBoston1
I could even live with the song and narrator, but...
For what's supposed to be a horror/murder tale, the actors, dialog, and delivery are right out of a Disney teen show. Might as well be Camp Hidden People. Every conversation has to have snark, puns, cliches, jokes...this is not how people talk, not even young people and teen detectives. If you're trying to mix horror with comedy, it's been done 1000 times better. (Also, simply having annoying characters does not equal comedy. Just a tip there.) I'm sorry to be so critical, and while this is by no means the only podcast to have this severe problem, there are better options out there in...whatever genre this is supposed to be.
  • JasmineRicce
Slow to start but hooks you in!
It was a bit slow in the first few episodes and Makayla was a bit annoying but I see how her attitude fit with the story. If characters are getting on your nerves, that just means they were written well haha. The story plot is great and keeps you on your toes once you’re hooked. This should be a TV show.
  • AJS041383
    It’s not bad!
Starting episode 6 of season 1 and it’s engaging enough to keep me coming back. The only thing I’m not really a fan of is the narrator’s over dramatic time plus the ‘theme’ song. Not necessary in every episode. Maybe the first episode of every new season. I fast forward through the song. Would definitely recommend though!
  • Kobra4now
    Patience is a virtue
I started listen to this pod cast about a year or so ago. It’s very well done and keeps me coming back for more. However the hold time between episodes always has me wondering if its been canceled. I hope not, because it’s not done by a long shot! The god, of gods still needs a swift kick it the butt.. so I wait… patience not included.
  • Whyarenicknamesnecessary
    Great overall
I didnt expect to like this, but it’s such an interesting story. I got very invested in each character and every little side story. It’s overall great! I only have one gripe, and that’s inconsistent episode releases. It says bi-weekly, but often times there will be 4-6 weeks between releases during the regular season which is a little frustrating.
  • Mac12271991
    Not terrible, however…..
The story line is interesting. It is a bit slow moving, the narrator is annoying, and the intro song is absolutely terrible, however, I like the story!
  • theatergurl21
    Obsessed
Absolutely in love with this podcast. Been looking for a long time for a well written, engaging podcast with a good story. Cant recommend enough!
  • Def-a-leprechaun
    Entertaining
You all are doing a great job, and yes there are a few flaws but you put together a compelling story! I’m starting season two now after binging season one. You all should be proud of your work :D thanks for putting this out.

This has been the best show I’ve heard
If you like fantasy this is definitely a top tier podcast. Disclaimer: it’s a VERY tough first few episodes to get through… but it’s absolutely worth it. You can tell when they catch their stride and the story becomes something the really comes alive. Just get past 10 episodes and it goes from slow build and wth is going on to an action packed thriller you can’t stop listening to in an instant. I don’t even write reviews but after ‘Date and Switch’ I’m writing one to say how great it is! Even the corny intro grows on you 😅
  • hycor
    It nice but...
I feel as though as the narrator is annoying and always over the top with every action the characters do like say a secret is about to be released when it’s just a baby photo and a story on how one of the characters is nice everything else is great just the narrator dramatizes things that are so little that they don’t even matter to the story or characters.
  • Billyh70
Couldn't they make one character not annoying?
Saw this in the suggestions on iTunes so I downloaded the first seven episodes. Story was interesting in the first episode but the characters were just unlikable (especially Mac and Alfie) and the intro song is unlistenable. The narrator seems to give too much away and the acting is bad enough that I choose not to stick with it. If you're thinking of giving this a try, think again.

I listen to season one and season two is my second time I’m going on season two because I don’t wanna go on season three yet because this is my second favorite I have a whole bunch of favorite podcast for you guys I love keep going I don’t wanna listen to the second season till you have like maybe 10 episodes in season three then I’ll start listening to it but besides that I love your podcast keep it up.

    It’s something
In a world filled with everyone doing podcasts it can be tough, this one was tough. The voice acting was pretty cringe to me. Found it tough to get into. I barely made it through an episode..
  • Anime_Kid
    Overall really good
I love the characters and worldbuilding, the narrator almost ruins it though. They take a lot of mystery out of it and practically spoil future episodes. Describing the action verbally also seems like a bit of a cop out. The voice actors and characters are fantastic though, and overall the plot is great.
  • Tiffbon
    Strange flow
Strange flow, some parts are okay others are oddly written and don’t flow smoothly this makes it hard to listen to. The further you get the more mixed up the story gets. And that theme song, oh gosh it is just terrible, I actually can not stand it and had to fast forward through it every episode. “🎶as days go by…….” No thank you.
  • amilla1234
    It’s alright
I feel like I’ve listened to every sci-fi audio drama podcast available. So when I found one I have never heard of I was pumped. The podcast is entertaining enough not to turn off. The acting is meh. The intro sound is straight up garbage. It was so bad I shut off the podcast. I ran out of podcast so I came back to this one and muscled through the awful attempt of an intro song. The narration interruption is so distracting and not needed.
  • oofspecailed420
    Love it !!!
I just listened to every episode out in a week . I don’t know what that says but I couldn’t stop listening !!! Can’t wait for the next episode!!!
  • beezy_ lua
    Worst opening song ever.
Why so bad tho, who thought that was good?
  • MiKrumm
A fantastic dark urban fantasy tale.
I don’t want to give anything away. At least not beyond their about section. It’s my favorite story of this genre so far and that is including films and books and not just podcasts. Each character is so well thought out and their emotional intelligence, verbal mannerisms and general worldview gets fully developed as the story continues. They do such a good job at painting a mental picture of what’s happening. Fantastic writing and characters coupled with on point sounds just brings it all together.
