Tracey VlahosThe BEST PodcastI found Dr Amie nearly 2 years ago when I was struggling after my own thyroid battle!!! Even though I am a certified holistic health practitioner who also went back to school to study hormones. I NEEDED the EXPERT guidance of Dr Amie to heal my thyroid!!! I rarely miss a podcast episode & recommend it to so many people!!!!!

kidkiddmomAmazingThis is a great podcast and I have learned so much!

My thyroid guruTrue thyroid expertI have been listening to several of Dr Hornaman’s podcasts and she really knows her stuff. She has experienced her own thyroid battles and she is now trying to help others. This is what really drew me to follow her. I see a “functional thyroid expert” doctor next week. Amie has actually helped educate me some to determine at my first appointment if they are indeed a true expert. If not Amie will be my go-to.

IamstilllearningThinking I’d like to work with you!!I have been binging this podcast. After learning of Dr. Amie on other podcast. My T3 and T4 levels are low with a normal TSH. Doesn’t appear Hashimoto. Running further test. But am listening to how to adjust to all this and her information and guest are rock solid. Thank you!

Dawn kavThyroid answersAfter listening to many podcasts, I always come back to this one. Dr. Amie is my favorite. I’m constantly intrigued by her wealth of information. She is consistent with bringing on knowledgeable professionals who also share valuable information to her listeners. I greatly appreciate her.

Vissfamo3This podcast changed my world hormonally and turned me into a believer in the products!I was skeptical about trusting a random podcast person, to put it bluntly, but I was also at my wits end with not getting any results! I am one who does my research and keeps years and years of lab results and studies data to take in to my doctors. After listening to Dr. Amie - she gets it! She gets women! She knows her stuff and she knows what works for women to optimize our levels in all natural ways! I am sooo grateful I came across this podcast. She always has great topics discussed and guests on that I can always trust her message and information! I even shared all her info with my doctor! She’s the real deal. My labs proved it!!

mjpmaskePaleto! What a great name. This is the type of diet I kind of follow already. Being a menopausal woman weight loss is SO hard. But I see body composition changing and finally got on some HRT. Enjoy what I learn on your podcasts

CarlyinazLove Dr. AmieShe has changed my life. I have devoured almost every episode of her podcasts, downloaded all of her reports and I have fully taken charge of my own health. I’m FINALLY optimized.

Motherbear04HopeI’ve got some since finding this down to earth and highly informed doctor. I would love to see Dr Amie have Dr Brooke Goldner, MD on the show. She has a program called goodbye lupus and goodbye autoimmune. I followed this raw vegan diet to a T for 4 months and now all my hair is falling out. This raw vegan program claims to heal everything. It was the only thing that helped me lose a little weight but I was so protein starved after 4 months that when my hair started falling out I dove head first into a plate of shrimp and haven’t stopped. I’d love to see a friendly professional debate by these 2 doctors.

Becky HashiRunningI have Hashimoto. I do weight lifting but I also do love running. How can I still incorporate running in my lifestyle and not gain weight?

Sherri756Eat, Hack, RepeatThis was a great dose of reality. So many bio hackers come across as perfect and always on such that the rest of us feel inadequate and unable to keep up. Thank you for being real. More podcasts like this one would be great.

kimisue66All of Dr Amie’s episodesI found Dr Amie by accident. She is truly the best. She knows so much about thyroid and hormones. I have learned more than most Medical Doctors know about thyroid. Without the knowledge I have gained from listening to Dr Amie, I would not feel as good as I do now. She is my doctor and friend. (Even though she doesn’t know me ) I feel like are. Learn from her if you or a loved one has thyroid issues. You will be glad you did.

robeeenzDr Amie is my new bffSeriously, what a Godsend. I had a major shift in health in early 2021 after the vaccine. It was swift and aggressive. Long story short, after 12 doctors (3 of which were ER’s), nobody would help me. I thought I was going to die, my kids thought I was going to die. I researched constantly with my goldfish brain. I kept telling doctors it felt like a deficiency. Only two out of the 12 believed me when I said that, but they tested electrolytes, magnesium and B12. I never had a known deficiency before, but somehow I KNEW. After a month of being sick with poor vision, feeling disconnected, nausea, dizziness, extreme lethargy amongst many more symptoms I found Iron Deficiency (Dr. Esa Soppi’s journal also changed my life)“Surely they would have tested me for the most common deficiency in the world”, I thought. So I educated myself on iron. I found “Iron Deficiency without anemia” and learned that they never tested my ferritin. I figured this out after about doctor #7 and one ER visit. I had shortness of breath, zaps in my brain and went to the ER and begged them to test my ferritin. The doctor mocked me. I went to another ER, got another horrible response. I went to the VA and asked them- they said they would test it but they did an iron panel instead. I trusted my instinct and I can’t explain why, but I KNEW it was iron even though I couldn’t get a proper test. As a 9 year vegetarian, I ate a steak. I took iron (max limit for my weight). I studied. I studied more. 4 days later I could walk to the mailbox. I kept studying. 9 days later I could work and main symptoms were gone. I tested myself and my ferritin was an 8 (optimal is 100). I studied iron so much that I now confidently understand all of the lab values and how iron is processed in the body. Even the integrative doctors didn’t know how to properly read the iron labs (for example, high TIBC is another indicator of deficiency, but this is not commonly known). it’s mind boggling. After a few months, I got my ferritin to rise to above 50. Symptoms I didn’t know were related started to disappear. I lost any faith I used to have in the medical industry. They caused me SO many tears, and so much pain. That started a journey that led me to the naturopathic world, or what I call “the red pill”. I had subclinical hypothyroidism. In late 2022 I got diagnosed with hashimotos (triggered by iron deficiency). Nobody has been able to completely make me feel better. My past integrative doctors have been afraid of suppressed TSH even though my T3 is on the low and of the range and my T4 is low. They stop at the “10mcg limit of T3”, They still don’t check my ferritin EVEN after my history, I’ve had to ask every time or just order my own labs. They’ve been afraid to give me hormones. Then I found Dr. Amie. Since my journey started I have been absolutely obsessed with ferritin, iron, vitamins, minerals, thyroid, hormones and anything health related. Dr. Amie has been the best resource I have found to date. I listen to these podcasts daily, and she has changed my life. Every thing she says is spot on and I can correlate a lot of it with my own experiences. I learn from her every single day. She talks about optimal lab levels and she makes a lot of us feel heard. I signed up for her program and after one convo I noticed that she also has this amazing open mind. She’s helping so many people feel better and see light at the end of the tunnel. Don’t give up on you, let her change your life too.

RoadRunner2021InfomercialGood info but delivered in a sarcastic tone and every couple of minutes she is trying to sell something.

Doug HawkesNo one knows thryoid and general health betterNo one knows real-world solutions to thyroid and other health issues like Amie Hornaman. She explains the why. She explains the how. She explains what tests conventional doctors aren't doing that are leaving people confused and on the wrong protocols. Be it thyroid health alone or any other general wellbeing issues from libido to hair thinning to fill-in-the-blank, she covers it. Recommending everyone I know to tune in to this podcast and work with her if possible.

SplashpantsBest health podcast everAs a person who lives with autoimmune diseases and thyroid issues, I listen to tons of health podcasts, and Dr. Amie seems to be the best there is. I’m starting a new journey based on this podcast, and feeling very hopeful!

Chelsea In AlaskaI knew I wasn’t crazy, THANK YOU!I am in my mid 30s and have been experiencing “unexplained” weight gain, fatigue, muscle and joint soreness, hair thinning and loss, dry skin.. all the classics, for several years. I’ve been an incredibly active runner, hiker and yoga practitioner, follow a gluten free, dairy free pescatarian for almost 20 years and was vegan for many of them, thinking I was the healthiest person around but still not happy with my body. I kept asking my PCP about my thyroid but she kept saying my TSH was fine so I just needed to exercise more and eat less and try not to stress! After listening to Dr. Amie I insisted on getting my ferritin, free t3/t4 checked and wouldn’t you know, they’re all extremely low! However my ferritin was technically in the “normal range” at 14.3! WHAT!? Thanks to Dr. Amie I know better and I’m embarking on the journey to better my health. I’m now embarking on a whole new health endeavor, I am so excited I came across this podcast when desperately searching for answers.
-

CortneyH18So much good information!!I heard Dr. Amie speak at Ketocon2023 and was super intrigued. I’ve been working on her episodes while sitting in my sauna. She is a wealth of real information and how to work on fixing what’s not working properly in your body. I will work on listening to the whole library! I hope to work with her in the future!!
-
Ankyros1233My life has changedI started working with Dr. Amie 11/27/23. All of my hypo symptoms are gone. I have lost 70 pounds and I feel fabulous!! Tina DesWhen to increase your thyroid medication.Thank you for this information. Just got labs back and Reverse T3 was 25.2 previously 17. On 90 MK NP with 2.5 T3. Definitely need a change. Not converting!

CLRH81Clean up the languageI love the information but could do without the bad language. It detracts from the message and makes one sound like a used car salesman.

Daria AnneExceptionalI discovered Dr. Amie when she was a guest on another excellent podcast I follow. Her knowledge, experience, and passion for helping others inspired me to start listening to her regularly. Dr. Amie’s episodes are well thought out, relevant, educational and entertaining. Her sense of humor and willingness to keep it real kept me coming back. I learned practical things from her that not even my functional doctor did not, like taking thyroid meds on an empty stomach and waiting an hour before drinking coffee or eating anything. She built up trust with me by sharing so much of her knowledge and others’ knowledge by bringing them on her show. I started working with Amie as a patient last February and could not be happier with my decision. She helped me cross the finish line, optimized my thyroid and other hormones, and solved every problem I had including thinning hair and the inability to lose weight. I’m now a few pounds away from my goal, have renewed energy, and feel great. I’ve also learned a tremendous amount about all hormones and how they work together. If you’re dealing with any kind of thyroid issue, tune into The Thyroid Fixer…and even better, contact Amie to start working with her and her excellent team today!

sjdjdheissindThankful for the info in all ur podcastsI wish all doctors had this information and would be more able to heal. I’m sure they didn’t go to mes school to see patients for 10 minutes and send them on their way with drugs. Thank you and keep this wonderful podcast and awesome guests. Please keep making these.
-
ComanellaKeep doing this podcast! It’s priceless!I held off from seeing a functional doctor because my thyroid labs are fine but I feel like crap (low energy, joint paint, brain fog,low libido mood swings) and this podcast and the knowledgeable host Dr. Amie gave me the confidence to finally make an appointment and get my life back! Thank you so much!

Lina KinderbeeCentral Hypothyroidism of the pituitaryThis podcast has allowed me to have the knowledge I need regarding my labs and to be an advocate for myself. My endocrinologist is looking at the possibility of hypothyroidism because of my labs and the 4 mm tumor on my pituitary gland. As much as this information is helpful it doesn’t help me pursue becoming optimal when a tumor is causing my problems. I’d love to hear a podcast about that.
-
paradise_sunAmazing podcast!Amazing podcast! Thank you for sharing such important information! You make complex concepts easy to understand! Keep up the awesome work!
-
CDMaster1950Thank Goodness!!!Wow, I’m so delighted that this data on the thyroid is out there so people can really understand for themselves and be their own advocate. There is nothing more frustrating than knowing there is something wrong with you but being told you’re ‘normal!’ Or it gets missed… or you are not even tested correctly. Dr Amie - I’m so impressed by you, your knowledge and willingness to help people. What you say MAKES SENSE. Thank you for adding sanity to this area of health which is vital but is so often utterly confused. YOU ROCK!!
-

alongcomesmaryGreat Show on Thyroid HealthSo happy to discover this show! I’ve been on a thyroid journey for years now, and only after a recent PT surgery am recovering using a naturopathic Dr & lifestyle. She clearly explains scientific topics in a friendly way and further reinforces that current traditional medicine practices alone will not heal thyroid patients!
