Media Roundtable

22

The Media Roundtable isn’t just another industry podcast; it’s an open lab where the sharpest minds in podcasting, advertising, and media break down the forces shaping the audio landscape—and reconstruct them in real time.

We created this show in service of the Chief Audio Officer: the marketer responsible for making audio campaigns not just sound good, but drive results. For many brands, audio advertising is a highly effective secret weapon–but it can be difficult to navigate, requiring specialist expertise to untangle its nuances. From brand safety to ad load, from recapping the latest industry news, to redefining what a podcast is in this day and age, we tackle the issues that matter most to a CAO, in the most entertaining way possible.

You’ll hear from a wide range of voices—past guests include T-Pain, David Spade, Ashley Flowers (Crime Junkie), Ben Shapiro (The Daily Wire), and Ira Glass (This American Life), to name a few—alongside leading brands, publishers, and our own team of experts. If you’re invested in audio, whether you're buying the ads, creating the content, or just curious about the business, Media Roundtable is your ear to the ground with an eye on the future–and it’s time you listen.

    Revised
Sounds like they’re trying to kill RSS now. Not good. Revised: this show is platforming / championing people who dangerously attack and harass vulnerable people online. Also, they are “influencing” the industry to aggressively blur ad content with editorial content, as they themselves do. This is unethical and shortsighted. Former: The new format might make this one the top three podcasts about podcasts. That said, the audio quality needs work. Particularly when balancing volume between all the round table discussion guests, and then the pre-recorded ads.

    Really Meagan Kelly?
How can I take this show seriously if I’m the ad Meagan Kelly is features while speaking hypothetically. It is rich to hear a snippet of someone accusing others of injecting their personal feeling into the news considering that is what that very person practiced regularly. Sure noting wrong with going on a rant about the “fact” that Santa Claus is white. This is one of the people you choose to represent a show about balanced media?????

Great well rounded and though provoking podcast!
I really loved this last episode -Insider Edition. I was just about to write a review of praise as well as request a deeper look into your views personally on any given reagent topic. You fully delivered! Big fan of Dan’s work and I also loved hearing from Jennifer. I know she is big part of production so to hear her voice and take on a subject matter only gives listeners like myself a more personal connection to what you are doing at Media Roundtable. Great job all of you and I truly look forward to the next episode!

    Good call on Steve Deace
New listener here. This was an excellent show. A part 2 segment would be very welcome. Didn’t seen extreme or too abrasive. The clarity and honesty is refreshing. Keep up the good work.

    Not just for pandemics
Great personal bios of the greats who have made our industry. Proscriptive strategy on how to make it through any downturn in the economy. Also - valuable discussions of new advertising channels, attribution, mergers and acquisitions, and consolidation.

2020's Must Listen Podcast for Marketers
Let's go back to New Year's Day 2020. One of your resolutions was NOT, "figure out how to adapt my entire marketing organization in light of a global pandemic." That's why every marketer NEEDS this show. At least listen to it at the fastest speed you can bear, or just read the show notes. Because there isn't a better line up of guests anywhere in the world laying down so much front line intel on what is going in media and suggestions for what marketers can do to adapt.

    Incredibly Informative
As a marketer, it’s been really valuable to hear from individuals at the top of the audio industry giving advice, sharing their thoughts on the future and to get a real snapshot of what’s happening. It’s helped give me the context I’ve needed in regards to spending right now. Thank you for putting this together Dan. Please continue having great people on the show!
