    I’m bored
Been listening to this for years! Lately it’s all just political agenda stuff. I get they have a responsibility to report news, but is there anything else newsworthy that isn’t dramatized politics? Also that guy botched the Denzel interview, he wasn’t very good at reading the room. Was a train wreck that kept getting worse. I felt it was a disservice to how amazing the interview should have been.

Is there nothing else happening in the country?

    Disappointed.
The Daily, and NYT, has shifted to require subscriptions to access old podcast episodes (not to mention article paywalls) while accepting funds from fossil fuel corporations amid reporting on the climate crisis, and Amazon, which is a major emitter and is known to violate basic worker rights and shares an owner with your competitor (?!) while seeking major tax cuts (conflict of interest with NYT shareholders/leadership??). This decision has locked out their loyal listeners while uplifting straight up green washing and corporate greed amid record breaking profits. Now today, this outlet is essentially uplifting a criminal who helped lay the groundwork for the reelection of another convicted criminal while soft balling him in a “profile” piece. The Daily and NYT should be ashamed and embarrassed of this poor reporting and have lost a listener/reader. In a time where fair, unbiased, and transparent journalism is critical to upholding democracy and casting a light on corruption and resistance against a looming oligarchy, NYT and The Daily have chosen to play nice to avoid going the way of USAID, EPA, NOAA, NRSC, and thousands of federal employees. Self insulation ends up no where, other than becoming a governmental media outlet. I no longer trust NYT to be honest and unbiased. Unsubscribed, and I’ll be encouraging others to join me. Maybe I don’t matter as one person, nor my small network, but clearly neither does the NYT any more.

    Repetitive Editing
Great interviews, but their formulaic approach to editing is… annoying. It’s repetitive - bouncing between the interview and the summarization of the interview, and what they repeat is useful or impactful. I use enjoy their approach, but over the years it’s become irritating and slows the ingestion of information.

    Peter Navarro interview
Post the entire interview. Every audio snippet with Peter is infinitely more interesting than Anna’s interjections. I don’t wan Anna to tell me what Peter said. I WANT TO HEAR WHAT PETER SAID HIMSELF.

    What is journalism
What is journalism without balance in reporting. Zero reference to the actual content of rationality behind why Trump Admin is flipping the script on Europe. Nor any mention behind the concerns as regard to free speech in Europe. 20 year subscriber… no more.

    Dishonest
Intentionally leaving out certain reporting in order to tie Trump to Russia. Completely incapable of doing anything deeper than surface level journalism in the pursuit of being The Resistance

    Leans too far left
I have listened for several years. It would be nice if it became an objective non-biased podcast. That is what Americans want. That is what I want anyway.

    Ruben Gallegos interview
Excellent interview! This Democrat Senator from Arizona is practical, articulate, no nonsense, and really has his finger on the pulse of what Democrats are doing wrong. It should be mandatory listening for all Democrats to get back to winning elections.

I want to love this show. But their politics and opinions really show.
I have been listening to the show since the beginning and now more than ever How biased it is. I see it in almost every episode.

    Im so tired
Why do these morons insist on fear mongering. There is a reason the left lost, if you want to win, try to be positive and work on the problems in your party. Overall, I do love to look at the titles of the episodes for a good laugh (ahhh, leftist tears!).

    Conflict of Interest
We’ve now heard several episodes regarding US AID and no disclosure of the funding received by the NYT. This is Journalism 101 people unless there’s something to hide here…

    The daily has fallen
This show used to be objective reporting with occasional commentary. It has unfortunately devolved into fear mongering and subjective opinion. The daily has lost credibility and I’ll be looking for recommendations for a new podcast. Do yourself favor and switch to bbc if you want real world news.

    Gone down the drain
Every since last summer they have talked non stop politics gone are the interesting stuff they would do about war or funny stuff like the guy that writes 70 songs a day now all you’ll get is politics which would be ok if the hosts didn’t have a huge bias. I just listened to your episode about usaid and it’s a joke come if from someone left leaning you guys need to wake up you claim 12 billion of the 40 billion they get goes to healthcare. Why should that money not be spent in the us on people who can’t afford their bills ??? Then you talk about our hiv programs and how they have saved lives but their are still people in this country that struggle to pay for those drugs today but no one care about them. Then you say overnight South Africa has gone from appreciation to distrust.. if they have gotten aid from us for years and one thing goes wrong and they distrust us now then they never trusted us to begin with they just saw a good deal when it came along and who could blame them.Hope you guys are out of a job soon y’all are so out of touch is actually comical.

    The Daily Show
I love your show but please stop featuring David Marchese. He’s a terrible on-air interviewer. His interview of Denzel Washington was a train wreck. Marchese talks about himself way too much. I don’t want to hear about his anxieties, lack of assertiveness, or his whining about his inability to get his subject off one word answers. Send him to Terry Gross boot camp. Better yet, give all the interviews to Lulu or someone else who understands the job.

    Feb 11 USAID
No discussion on the wasteful, corrupt irrelevant programs initiated by USAID. Or what programs should be unfunded. Only one star due to your biased one sided narrative

    Informative
As a young teen I listen to this podcast regularly and find if quite interesting. As a young Mexican American citizen I like to start my mornings off with what is going on in the world, especially in such a troubling time. I really appreciate the variety of coverage and the daily updates. I would usually listen to “Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me”, but I have started listening to this instead because of how convenient the daily uploads are. 👍

    Great podcast
Just listened to the episode of wether or not we are going into another pandemic with the bird flu. I’m so glad you are taking the time to educate us and keep us updated on the health issues we have . It makes me sick what Trump and his clowns are doing to basically dismantle our healthcare system. Please keep us informed of all the destruction that the MAGA cult is doing to our country so we can be prepared.

I have enjoyed the Daily on and off for years but recently the narrative has been very focused on the recent political events. Do better.

    Too much Trump
Since January 20th pretty much every episode is Trump-centric. We all need a break. Please stop discussing him every. Single. Day. This is called “The Daily” there are tons of other things happening in the world daily. I was a devoted listener for years and now I never want to listen.

    COMEDY PODCAST
Strap in if you want a good laugh. Insufferable hosts consistently picking and grabbing ‘gotchas’ from their puppet master writers. A good laugh start to finish. Highly recommend

    Enabler of Fascism
The Daily, like the rest of The NY Times, is an enabler of fascism. I’ve become increasingly disappointed and now disgusted by how they’ve covered the last 6 months

    USAID ?
Hi is it just me or did the guest lady just complain how her unauthorized human medical trials in 3rd world countries were defunded ? Last is checked medical trials on humans were illegal and unethical, i don’t understand why the so called host didn’t pick up on that fact.

    USAID
Interesting last podcast, however to not even discuss what they found and why they were shutting it down in the first place was an incredible miss. The discussion should be why Americans should be paying for this aid versus where that money could go ie inner cities, LA, NC etc. Not a single mention on some of the programs DOGE did uncover was a very bad miss. Love the show, keep it up!

    Hm
I like this podcast very much and I’ve learned a lot, but both hosts say “hm” too much. A guest says something and they will answer, “hm” kind of like a little grunt. Would “I see” or “interesting,” sound more intelligent than “hm”? Just my opinion.

    Needs some adjustments
Long time listener of the podcast—longtime weekend deleter of The Interview. Need I say more? Oh, and Natalie Ketroef: her interview with the Beijing bureau chief (the OG exchange should’ve been cut) was embarrassing—Ketroef was fully cringe.

    Normalizing
I can’t tell you how few of your podcasts I listened to anymore because I find your reporting and you’re framing of an issue absolutely contemptible. Call fascism what it is speak out, find your balls and speak the truth!

    What’s Not to Like? Well…
Love the in-depth reporting + range of subjects investigated. However, where are the women; women journalists, interviewees, stories? Considering that we make-up over 50% of the US, as well as in most countries, the Times’ mostly male-slant is tedious and stultifying. Please guys, open the gates.

    Denzel
He clearly did not want to be interviewed…. What a pity because he came off so rude and annoying. I was ready to learn more about him and find some good nuggets he shared. I had to turn it off 15 min in. The interviewer was doing great but Denzel was responding horrifically. Not even remotely funny even if he thought he was trying.

What is going on with these ads?
Recently, I’ve noticed that many of the ads at the top of the episodes sound like straightforward propaganda for oil companies, oil lobbies, and big Pharma. They’re often couched in language that might make their message more appealing to left-leaning listeners. For example, one ad for what I understand is an oil lobby talks about the importance of “reliable energy” and only carefully and slowly investing in alternative energy. I’ve listened to The Daily for years and subscribe to the NYT. I find these ads to be out of line with how the Times seems to portray itself. Are there really not advertisers the NYT could find other than a literal oil lobby?

    Sunday Read Distractions
This review only pertains to the Sunday Read. I find the stories interesting but I am distracted by the dramatic narration and music and find it difficult to follow along. The music is eclectic, not vibing with the story content or narration. The music is also too loud, competing with the reader. I try to listen to these stories but can’t comprehend the content. Maybe the problem is just me.

    The Daily’s demise
I am a long time listener. You have good content and interesting guests. You are not neutral but left leaning most of the time. I challenge you to include opinions that mirror your audience instead of left leaning dems. Kathryn

The Denzel Washington interview was one of my favourites. It was so uncomfortable and profound.
At first I found it annoying, then it was like listening to a combative, almost romantic, tryst between lovers. In an attempt to get their partner to open up the interviewer succumbs to their deflections and answers their questions. I loved the tension. Denzel is obviously as opaque to us as he is to himself.

    Denzel Washington
Love the pod and to be a fan of his but had to shut this interview off. I hope he was just having a bad day and isn’t that rude to interviewers all the time. Very frustrating to listen to him give one word answers, and belittle the guy trying to interview him.

    Where’s the fact checking?
What is happening to the daily?? I’m listening to an episode on Drake and Kendrick - they’re giving off a super weird bias toward Drake and it’s also not touching on facts or news. This is one of the most obvious episodes of this happening and thankfully about something relatively unimportant but I’ve been noticing this so much on many episodes. I’ll be unsubscribing to find an actual news source. Calling either of these artists the first to do anything is offensive.

    Hire better on air people
I want to like this show. I SHOULD like this show. But over and over I find myself less focused on the content than on the delivery. Michael Barbaro is so difficult to listen to — so robotic, such distracting affect. And this week’s Interview with Denzel Washington made me cringe. I’ve been a journalist for 30 years and I will say this: the reporter does not know how to conduct an interview. And then he blames Denzel Washington for being an enigma. The NYTimes needs to treat this series like an audio podcast and hire the appropriate people.
  • SAYB611
    Biased point of view
I used to listen to this podcast but it seems like the female host seems to take a biased stand point on all political topics. Not really my cup of tea to listen to the nonchalant jabs spoken on the Trump Administration. I’ll find my news somewhere else the hasn’t chosen a side.
  • chucksucksforeva
I used to love this podcast
Unfortunately the quality and content have declined drastically. I want Michael barbaro or Sabrina tavernise hosting every episode. The new and guest hosts are very sub par. I revere The NY Times and enjoy most of their content, but sadly the daily is in a nosedive right now. I hope they right themselves and return to their former excellence. Centering barbaro and tavernise or someone with similar gravitas is key.

    Unbiased and analytical
Great podcast to get to listen to, to get a better insight of today’s problems. Very intelligent guest speakers. Thank you for your knowledge and wisdom to teach others.

    My favorite news source
I love everything about the Daily - how they deep dive into a specific angle. I hope they keep covering interesting unique stories (for example the one on Drake and Kendrick Lamar today)…I can learn about all the Trump stuff from any other news media covering the same thing.

No more funding from the Federal Govt to Times
Your episodes are so far left and dumb, then I found out today that DOGE uncovered how much money you were getting from USAID. Now you will have to fend for yourself and go bankrupt.

They are terrible at covering news
They are normalizing the most egregious behavior. They are failures at being journalists.

    what happens in the dark?
Covering Musk like a clever genius not a greedy wrecking ball. Instead of shining a light on darkness, they’ve chose to assist the US state accomplish the following 3 goals: -Dismantling democracy+systems of accountability -Advancing white supremacist policies here+abroad -Immiserating non-billionaires for financial gain
