TheWookiee!Still hopefulI was *loving* this podcast, and haven’t given up hope yet that the previous format will return. I listened back to Barrett’s remarks at the end of the final podcast for season 4, in a effort to figure out what she meant... She said that for season 5, she and Robin will be trying something different, that there will still be an episode of the podcast for every episode of the TV series, and that she and Robin will “get back together” at the end of season 5 to do a recap of the entire TV series. How she says all of this, however, is a *bit* confusing... I can only hope that the repeats recently of the “Masterpiece” podcast interviews are just serving as some sort of weekly placeholders (for lack of a better term), until Barrett and Robin return at the end of the season (?). If so, then in the next episode of the “Mining Poldark” podcast, it would be *extremely* helpful (and would certainly put all the listeners at ease) if Barrett would (please) include a *reminder* in her intro or closing remarks, clarifying how this will all go. Thank you, Barrett and Robin, for an otherwise delightful podcast!

BothAlionasBring back Robin! This is just Masterpiece! Where is the review and the banter. Should be zero stars.

Cheetos man 292This isn’t mining Poldark anymoreI hope Robin and Barrett comeback with the previous format. This is just a repeat of Masterpiece

ZengirlNJLoved this podcast until season 5Where is Robin Ellis? This podcast is a waste of time now - just a repeat of the Masterpiece podcast. This podcast is now a waste of time - just an excerpt of the Poldark podcast. Why continue this unless you intend to bring back Robin Ellis. I saw the last episode and there is a lovely scene between Robin and Aiden. You won’t want to miss it.

EavobedBring back a Robin and BarrettI think it’s unfortunate that this is just an excerpt of the Masterpiece podcast. Robin and Barrett did such a good job with the other seasons and I want to hear their insights into this season too!
-
Miss KittynessEnding with a thudNot sure why format for this previously enjoyable podcast changed for season 5, but a brief regurgitation of the Masterpiece Studio counterpart podcast is quite the disappointment. Hardly ‘mining’ “Poldark,” rather a budget-friendly rehash. Doesn’t Masterpiece owe us an explanation?
-
Bugsbunny27Spoiler alertWhy is the writer putting out spoilers? Unsubscribe. This was a great means to refresh yourself regarding prior seasons prior to watching the final season. Barrett and Robin were enjoyable to listen to. Hence the four stars.
-
an amerianRepetitiveWhy are you just re-airing the masterpiece studio interviews for season five?
-
ar dillonNot liking the new formatI love the way seasons one through four were done, each hosts take on three different scenes, the recap of the episode, their own insights and also Robin’s behind the scenes stories of playing Ross Poldark and also Reverend Hawlse (sp?)The new format just seems to be taking an interview from a MASTERPIECE Studio podcast and replaying it just in a shorter format. I don’t find that interesting but maybe others will. I would love it if they resumed the previous format.

Lisaa FFantastic companion pieceI love this! I think this is essential listening for Poldark fans. There is so much to discuss in these stories and the hosts provide great insights. I also love the differing male/female perspectives

Dfgchb23498Robin is great, Barrett not so muchGiving this 3 stars for Robin’s contributions as one-half of the cohost team. He provides thoughtful, nuanced insights into all aspects of the show. Barrett brings nothing; e.g., “Ross should put that saying on a t-shirt!”. Brilliant. She also went to painstaking lengths to analyze “the most controversial scene” between Ross & Elizabeth - applying every “PC” interpretation possible. Yet in her very next breath, she is ecstatic that Demelza hit Ross and knocked him to the ground. She says, “there was real violence there...it was amazing!” Just imagine if the characters in that scene were reversed. What a double standard! Unfortunately, I cannot keep listening to the podcast. I love the tv show, but Barrett’s vacuous takes are ruining it for me. If I could just fast-forward to Robin’s parts, I would.

Rachel N 1Awesome podcastI love this podcast so much. It's such a great companion to the show. I love the discussions and insight. The hosts are great.

Jingles1963LOVE!Absolutely and thoroughly enjoy this podcast! Enjoy it as much is watching each episode! Fun, enlightening, I’ve learned a lot of little details about the characters and the workings between them that I hadn’t picked up watching. Keep the podcast episodes coming! 😍

cpbeThank you for the delightful and fun series recaps!Barrett Brountas and Robin Ellis are wonderful hosts with each bringing a different perspective to the episodes. I love the concept of a cliff notes summary of the high points of each scene. Their banter is delightful and I only wish I could chime in too. Robin’s perspective and experience as Ross Poldark really brings depth to the conversations. Barrett’s enthusiasm and love for the series is evident even when Ross’s actions disappoint her deeply. I am looking forward to listening in on more conversations between Robin and Barrett as my excitement for Season 5 grows!

Krissalee85EnjoyableI enjoyed this refresher on the Poldark series and it’s made me excited for the upcoming final season. I like the hosts, I just wish Robin didn’t say “as it were” so much.

eakramer.12We've hit pay dirt!I love this podcast! It's such a fun way to remember the past episodes in antipication for the upcoming season (honestly, wish "Downton Abbey" was doing something similar before the movie comes out). The two hosts have great rapport and authentically interesting insights. Can't wait for the next installment!

mrb-qnsA Poldark SeminarAn insightful discussion about the dramatic themes and technical craft that goes into the series’ storytelling. Both the host and Mr Ellis bring fresh light to details that you might have missed and makes you appreciate this marvelous program even more. Extremely well done!!

CarolfoasiaI am in Poldark HeavenRobin Ellis helping with this is the bomb. I fell in love with Ross when I watched Ellis’ version back in 1990. To combine the new and the old makes this so pleasant. Thank you!

JF in the 805Don’t miss this podcast! What a clever way to recap the story in anticipation of the US broadcast of the final season. It is very special to hear the breakdowns and insights from the original Poldark, Robin Ellis.
