It is always a delight to listen to a show that is politeness itself. Contestants are knowledgeable and kind to each other; Russel Davies is a model of moderation and old world charm. This is the BBC of my youth! Long may it continue!

Where is Brain of Britain? My Generation is a pathetic excuse for a quiz show.

Where is the latest Brain of Britain? I have some witless drivel in its place. I enjoy RBQ, BoB, and the Music quiz but not this tripe.

Listening to this as an American, I love how the contestants will immediately know something really obscure like the second violin player in the 1984 London Philharmonic, but will be stumped by the capital of South Carolina. This is a welcome relief to most American quiz/trivia shows though. The music quiz and general knowledge contests are a lot of fun, but it’s the cryptic quiz that I keep coming back for. Highly recommended.

British/European topics are obscure to me, but usually a contestant knows the answer. US topics are usually something I know, and often the contestants don't. We all live in bubbles.
