134

From the producers of Rebel Force Radio, BondCast is about James Bond and the 007 film franchise. Each month, hosts Jason Swank, Jimmy Mac and Jonathan Wilkins review a featured film from the vast James Bond catalog in order of release. From Dr No to Spectre and each film in between, the BondCast offers 007 discussion "Shaken not Slurred." Also, don't miss our James Bond Soundtrack review show "For Your EARS Only" hosted by Laird Malamed.

    Credibility problem with music episode
I stumbled across this podcast and saw they devoted entire episodes to the music of Bond films. I immediately downloaded the one for “The Living Daylights,” one of my favorite scores and set of songs. Within the first 30 minutes, they lost all credibility with me. First of all, the hosts have to be only people on the earth who didn’t know who a-ha is. They actually had to look them up at the time of this episode in 2021. When they read off a-ha’s accomplishments, they didn’t understand most of their hit songs were in Europe. Not once did they even mention their biggest global hit, “Take On Me,” which even every Gen Z and millennial knows. That blew my mind. At another point, they discussed that composer John Barry was so unhappy working with a-ha, that he barely used an instrumental version of the title song in the score. Wrong. If they had played “Hercules Takes Off” from the soundtrack (which is on YouTube in its entirety), there it is! I decided there couldn’t be much credibility in the other Bond music episodes either.

    Too much wasted time
These guys laugh and joke more than they discuss Bond. It shows little respect for the listeners’ time. These aren’t serious people. They also talk and laugh about photos they are looking at, forgetting we listeners can’t see what they are looking at.

Just like watching 007 with your best friends!
Download a topic of a Bond film you recently saw and spend about an hour going in deep. You’ll have a great time with this series! High production value and really love dissecting the music too! Also, love their other channel Rebel Force Radio. Star Wars & Bond!!! Can it get any better?

    Martini - Shaken Not Stirred
I subscribed to this podcast a couple of years ago but didn’t start listening until I started watching the pre-Daniel Craig movies for the first time in Fall 2019 this is a great companion to someone getting through the movies definitely enjoy your discussions about the movies and also the music

A Fun Walkthrough the Bond Series
This podcast is a lot of fun. A perfect blend of information and opinions. You can tell these guys even these movies. I just wish they’d put these out a little quicker.

All podcasts should be this good
Long time Bond fan who somehow just discovered this podcast, apparently 8 years late. Only about half a dozen episodes in so far, but seriously impressed with these guys. Knowledgeable, genuinely funny, good voices, impressive production value (particularly on the music episodes where music is integrated). They also do what many other movie/TV podcasts don’t do…they stick to the subject. Excellent work guys!

This is no time to quit!
Keep this thing rolling! I’m way too young to enjoy the bond series but the novels and books are almost as enjoyable as hearing the commentary from you guys!

    Great podcast for Bond!
Me and my friends are watching a bunch of Bond films together. This is a great podcast to listen to after I have watched one of them. And the boys rightly point out that Dr. No is an allegory for getting consent before sexual activity.

    Great Bond, Great Laughs
I’m a 100% disabled veteran and a HUGE Bond fan. Not only do these gents have great insight and reviews on all things 007, their often comical and “buddy” approach always brings and ear to ear smile. Great reviews, great Bond insight, great laughter therapy for a guy who’s seen and experienced more than Bond ever did (except butt cheek skydiving steering and smoking a stogie while flying a hang glider). They have a magic formula. Many thanks, gents!

    One of my faves!
I’m excited every time a new episode drops! If only they did so more regularly!!

    A View to a Kill-er Podcast
BondCast is an all-around terrific show. The host Jimmy Mac, Jason Swank, and Jonathan Wilkins are as big of Bond fans as they come. In each episode, they explore a particular Bond film at every level imaginable - from characters, to plot, to actors, to set stories, to music, and so on. The show is always a blast to listen to, and the production value is stellar. A must-listen for diehard Bond fans.

    Great Stuff
This podcast is a lot of fun! I'd like more frequent episodes, but at this rate, I'll get to enjoy new episodes well into the next decade!

    Best Bond
Brought to you by the Rebel Force Radio guys, the BondCast is one of the best James Bond 007 podcasts out there! The only negative is how sporadic and slow the new episodes come out; but hey, beggars can’t be choosers! Like all their shows, the production quality, discussion, and banter are what make this show. They take each Bond film and break it down in three episodes: two about the characters, behind the scenes, actors, production, and history, and one dedicated to the music. It’s a fantastic summary of facts and anecdotes that can be found in the disc bonus features and print material, but presented in a much more entertaining manner.

    An Unexpected Treat
Episodes will be far between, but I like staying subscribed for a nice surprise every so often. Fun commentary on one of my favorite film series and not the usual dull rehash of movies that many other podcasts rely on. Keep it up guys! Love the show!!

A Must For Any 007 Fan

    Bondcast
Bondcast is a great podcast. the hosts are fun and i love listening to listen talk about Bond. they got me to download all of the movies and rewatch all of them to see what they are seeing in the films.
  • Bravo1138
Love the in-depth look at the Bondfilms
Each month these guys release a very detailed look at each film in the saga. I just wish they put things out more quickly! Plus, I laughed rarely hard at a pun made at the expense of Goldfinger's Bond Girl by s certain British host.
  • Soapy86
    Good. Could be better.
A very good show dragged down by the hosts' inability to stick to a release schedule.
  • Largo1965
    Aki, not Tiger
Just a quick note, guys, but in the OHMSS podcast you say Bond says “I love you” to Tiger Tanaka. Nope, Tiger says it to him. Bond says it to Aki.

    007 Fun
If you love Bond films and want good fun talk this is the show for you. Host has good speaking voice so do guest. Sound quality is very good not to low just right. Great 007 fun!

    Excellent show!
Great show! Very informative. Love how each movie it separated in to 3 parts. Will never watch Bond movies the same way. Keep up the awesome work. M's files don't contain nearly as much information as these guy have.
  • Michelangelo Bond
    Great, bbut needs something fixed
This is the best bond podcast out there but there is WAY too much time in-between shows. I love how there are two parts for each movie but you should finish both podcasts for a movie in at least a month. I want to hear them all but i might not even be alive before you get to the Moore bonds!
  • Rob56
    Quit Your Day Jobs
This is my second review. I subscriber to a number of Bond podcasts. Once organized, I like to play them in order and I've got to admit, yours stands head and shoulders above. My only complaint - and the better quality might be a result of the delay - but, like a kid waiting for Christmas morning, I want them to come faster! So, quit your day jobs, watch movies, and produce podcasts. I can't believe there's not a fortune to be made!

    Good As Gold
Informative and entertaining, quality production values and terrific chemistry between the hosts. As a fan of soundtracks, I'm especially enjoying “For Your Ears Only”. Great idea to have an in-depth review of the Bond music in between movie review episodes.

The Cast with the Golden Touch..
Great job, boys, always expect the best from you and you deliver.

    Very Good Podcast
Surely the best and most adult James Podcast I have listened to. The big problem is that each episode is far too long and the time between episodes is far far far too long. How about cutting the time in half and try sticking to a semi-monthly broadcast schedule?
  • dtharrin
    Great show
Jimmy Mac? Jason Swank? Count me in!

From one iconic film franchise to another
Jason and JimmyMac find the time in between Rebel Force Radio podcasts to tackle another film franchise with the Bondcast.

    Great look back at Bond!
Bondcast is a really great "insider's look" at the things you never knew or considered about the James Bond series. I hate that it's only once a month, but that allows for superior quality and information gathering so I can forgive that. Keep up the good work, gentlemen!
  • Jerad
    Great New(er) podcast!
I was worried, because I have seen a sharp decline in podcast lately. This is a great show and I am thoroughly enjoying the content & Banter. The "For Your Ears Only" episodes are brilliant! Such great information, plus we get to listen to the pieces as they are discussed. HUGE plus for this type of podcast. Keep up the great work!

Look no further. There is no better Bond podcast
Ian Fleming would have been 105 years old on May 28th. Bondcast would have been a joyous present for this invented writer. For anyone looking for news, information and reviews of the James Bond look no further. The people producing this podcast are professional, passionate and profound. I *highly* recommend this to anyone with even a slight interest in the James Bond franchise. Mahalo to Jason and Jimmy Mac. MauiMark

One of the best podcasts you'll find
Absolutely fabulous. As much as I love the Bond franchise I hardly ever have anyone to discuss it with. Listening to these episodes feels like I'm finally able to connect to other guys who GET IT and have an appreciation for all things Bond. Filled with great behind the scenes stories and humorous, engaging hosts. This is one of the best podcast series you'll ever find. The only problem is that they only do one Bondcast a month.
  • Gallen Dugall
    Informative and Entertaining
If you're even slightly interested in film making magic or James Bond this is a podcast that will prove engrossing. Lots of behind the scenes info, lots of book to film insights and just a lot of fun friendly wit.

    Bondcast Rules
Jimmy and Jason are the greatest podcasters of all times!!!!! If they had 330 podcasts I would get nothing else done in the world.

    Bond... MacSwank Bond!
The masterminds behind RebelForceRadio keep the pop culture conversation going with another great 'cast! Only one problem... WHERE'S KITSTER?! Love the show!

    For Your Ears Only
Admittedly, I am not the biggest James Bond fan. That’s not to say that I dislike the franchise—quite the opposite, in fact!— as I have many a fond memory of tuning in for Bond-a-thons as a boy, watching and re-watching my VHS copy of ‘Goldeneye’ (in addition to playing the classic Nintendo 64 game) and have made it a habit to attend the release of a great majority of the modern Bond films from the end of the Brosnan era into the days of Daniel Craig. At the same time, I’m afraid that I’m quite deficient in terms of trivia or behind the scenes knowledge about the franchise, but, thankfully, the BondCast has me covered! Joined by the delightful Jonathan Wilkins, veteran podcasters Jason Swank and Jimmy ‘Where’s Kitster?’ McInerney provide insightful commentary and engaging discussion as they make their way through this venerable film legacy in a way that’s accessible for both new and veteran fans of our favorite double-0 agent. So whether you’re a fan of Bond himself or Jason and JimmyMac, this review’s not mixed but in fact has me quite stirred—Give the BondCast a listen! You won’t regret it.

    The Name is Cast....BondCast
What a great podcast done by true Bond fans, not to mention that it has the same high production value that we have come to expect from the guys who bring us RebelForce Radio. As a Bond fan, I appreciate the insights that the guys bring. I just have one question that has not been answered; Where's Kitster?!?
  • Uncle Porkins
The only James Bond podcast M listens to
I've been listening to Jason and Jimmy Mac on their other excellent podcast, Rebel Force Radio (WHERE'S KITSTER) and because of their personalities and the quality they put into their show I knew this would be just as entertaining. Even better, they've acquired the talents of an actual Brit, Jonathon Wilkins, to weigh in on the Bond movies and you can get more authentic than that! Even if you only prefer one Bond, like me, you'll enjoy this podcast. Roger Moore - FTW. Your mission is to check it out and subscribe today, God Save the Queen.

    This show is MONEY........Penny!
Great job guys! Long time forcecast listener and huge Bond fan as well, so I know the production quality will be top notch with Jimmy Mac's long time Radio experience. Looking forward to all 23 episodes! Rock on guys!

    High Quality Bond Podcast
The best part about any good podcast is if it captures the energy and excitement of the topic. The folks from Force Cast have done it again with our favorite British Spy James Bond 007! I will look forward to each new episode every month!

    For Your Eyes Only
Mac, Jimmy Mac. Has a good ring to it. The first podcast I ever listened too was the Forcecast with Jason and Pete back before CVI in Los Angeles. It reinvigurated my passion for Star Wars and now they are at it with Bond. Listening to their podcasts for years has always been like talking to my best buds about the things that matter, the movies we grew up on. I'm sure what they did for my fandom of the Wars franchise they will do as I enjoy the next 50 years of Bond. Nobody does Podcasts better.

    Well done!
Great show. Great panel. These guys do a great show called the Force-cast and I'm glad to hear them expand to other franchises. With all their connections I'm sure we'll eventually hear cast and crew interviews from Bond movies. Anyway, do yourself a favor and give the podcast a try.

From The Force To the 007
Jason & Jimmy have ruled my stereo listening to The Force Cast driving from home to work and work to home and any tiny chance I get. I have not seen all the Bond movies but I now I will just to be able to listen to these guys here. They know how to make a podcast work!!! Thanks Guys
