The podcast for Call of Cthulhu RPG
You will enjoy this podcast if you like rich discussions about all things related to the Call of Cthulhu RPG. Very well-informed and positive hosts, Keeper Dave and Keeper Bridgett maintain a lively, fun, and humorous discussion that is always thoughtful and practical for gamers.

Jumping back on the train of horror
Listened to you guys a lot around 2015-2017, because I was so interested, but I never found a gaming group, so I kinda fell off. But this Xmas, my fiancé gave me the CoC starter kit and is helping me find a game. I’m super excited to jump back on this very informative train of horrors!

    Shut up Dave!
Great show unless Dave is asking a guest a question! It just took him five minutes of rambling and pre-qualifying his question before he finally asked the question. Worst interviewer on any podcast.

An engaging and fun podcast, MUP offers lovers of Lovecraft and the horror genre a wide swath of stories, background, muses, and audio fun. This podcast backlog is deep - perfect for binge listening on a weekend trip or your daily drive.

    Good Podcast
The interview with Chris Spivey of Darker Hue Studios and his “Harlem Unbound” book was amazing! Lots of good topics and historical deep dives, both in pop culture and literature.

    Outstanding, ENnie Award Winning Podcast
This is one to listen to the entire backlog of. Keepers Chad, Dan, John, and Murph engage in interesting and informative discussion about Call of Cthulhlu as well as other horror roleplaying and general horror topics. Their discussion often revolves around taking a general idea, like creating a new piece of alien technology for investigators to use/have used against them, and fleshing it out while providing suggestions for how you could do the same thing for your own games. I've made use of their advice in other, non-horror game systems and I think the games I run are better off for it. The hosts are actively engaged with their listeners. One or the other of them will often be present and participating in discussions on their discord server. Definitely worth a listen and a subscribe. Go Pods!

    Awesome Podcast
These guys do a great job. The format is great, its just like sitting around with your friends talking about RPGS. I love listening to the debates and bouncing ideas off each other. My games have gone from ok to spectacular. Keep up the good work.

    Influential!
This podcast is so good that it got me into Call of Cthulhu. I was consering the game, then listened to a few episodes of MU, and their informative, fun approach convinced me to try CoC, and I'm very thankful. Great stuff, gentlemen.

MUP elevated to a new level
In the last year I have enjoyed MUP very much. Your topics have been entertaining, and your personalities mesh very well. I always leave feeling both up to date and connected to the CoC community. This evening however, I was simply astonished when I listened to the "Real Life Horror of Red Hook" episode. This somewhat disturbing occurrence within our community was thoughtfully and comprehensively explored. If this sort of round table discussion can be expected in future Special Reports, I look forward to them! Outstanding work fellas.

for the arch nerd in all of us
I’m an avid lover, reader, player, etc. of weird fiction and these guys are like hanging out with some of my best friends. keeper murf is a bit of a self-indulgent windbag who talks over the others at times, but he seems to mean well and (occasionally) acknowledge his inability to avoid dominating the conversation (often in unproductive ways).
  • CrashMonarch
    My favorite gaming podcast
I love what these guys do! Very down to earth, very informative, and a lot of interesting personalities make this my absolute favorite gaming podcast.

Deception is a right. Truth is a privilege. Innocence is a luxury. The Learned Faculty wandering the Hallowed halls of Miskatonic University Podcast adeptly squirt eldritch knowledge directly in to the base lizard brain of slightly evolved monkey peoples. GO PODS!

A fantastic resource for keepers and players!
I have been playing Call of Cthulhu for over 10 years, and the podcast is a great place to get new ideas and keep things fresh for me and my players. Highly recommended for fans of Call of Cthulhu, Lovecraft, and gaming generally.
  • BlakeII7
The best podcast for the Call of Cthulhu RPG
Do you like the Call of Cthulhu RPG? Do you like RPGs? Then you need to be listening to this. Part news, part commentary, part interview, part deep dive discussion, all Cthulhu. This podcast is well produced and informative. The group of hosts really care about the game, and do this podcast out of the love they have for it. And it really shows through. I recommend this podcast to anyone I play with and no one has ever been disappointed. And you won't be either.
  • Flecka's Papa
    Really enjoyed my first listen
So, I was looking up Lovecraft podcasts, came across this show, and I have to say I was intrigued as this was an RPG that I really enjoyed decades ago -- have even had a copy in my hand recently thinking...well if I buy it, I can at least read and see how the game plays today. Being remotely located, not a big gaming population, so rule reading and scenario reading would be about it. This made me want to order that copy I had even more!

    Good Stuff!
Totally listenable, engaging hosts, with a great format. Scratches that unspeakable itch.
  • Spaceheater5000

If you want to dive into this tabletop rpg or horror gaming, this is the first place you need to go. Sure it's long but it's well worth the time as they go over different facets of the game rules, setting/GM/player tips as well as many other things. Highly recommended!!

I just realized I've been listening to this podcast for years... Either time flys when you're having fun or the Mi-go have alterred my perception of time. In any event, this is a fun podcast for anyone who wants news and ideas for horror roleplaying.

First stop for all things Call of Cthulhu
A really enjoyable podcast with all things Call of Cthulhu, as well as a few other general horror and lovecraft related materials. As a total novice to the mythos, this has been a wonderful introduction to them and inspiration for putting together a game of my own.
  • caddy1071
    Learn things you can't unlearn
The MU Podcast is an excellent resource for Call of Cthulhu Keepers and a must listen for any Mythos fans. The Keepers dig up tons of great information for fans for every broadcast and really dig into the details of the game and provide plenty of inspirational material - a must listen for CoC fans.
  • ultramafic
    Howard hates Murph
Great show, just wish they would think about format and put all the crowd-funding crap at the very end of the show. Get to the real content! And Murph, why don't you at least try to NOT use profanity, the audio would sound better without the constant need to edit your word choice. Your immaturity, with respect to communication, degrades the quality of the show.
  • Shannon Mac2014
    The very best
An awesome resource for Cthulhu fans and especially Keepers of Arcane Lore.

    Compulsion
It began, as many things do, after loss. A companion of mine had passed on, murdered in its sleep by a swarm of horrific things, and in circumstances I prefer to neither relate nor dwell upon. As I stood upon a bridge, with traffic around me halted in the fog, contemplating my new and altogether lonlier position in the vast cosmos, the voice came. It was soft and reassuring in the damp air, whispering that things do not end, and horrific things shall suffer. They surrounded me now, horrific things with spindly bipedal frames, wielding their primitive chemical firearms with a thoroughly undeserved bravado. Insignificant motes of hurtling metal were ignored as clawed tentacles swept through their number, and the sky became filled with a haze of blood and gore. In the distance, a city of the things beckoned, and the soft voice urged me on, over and over, to vengeance for the fallen. My poor kitten. It couldn't have known, it had only disturbed the seal only through its playfulness. The thought of the senselessness of it all kindled the terrible rage within me, and the great form surged forward. My great form. Suffer, mortals.

    Thanks for the Sanity Loss.....
If you are a Call of Cthulhu keeper/player/fan, this is a must. The show is done very very well. Segments are nothing short of amazing. The hosts have "ear-friendly" voices. Cthawesome!
Never played, always wondered about it from my Deities and Demigods AD&D book. Sounds like a great game for me to run with Teenagers..I think. Great format and thanks to Order 66 for putting a plug in for you. Great format, starting at the beginning..
  • worthareviewfromdave
A great resource for a newbie
Found this by way of the order 66 podcast. I am working my way up from episode 1 (37 are out at the time of this review) I am very excited to be able to build up my knowledge of lovecraftian mythos. I have always wanted to run a good horror game of this style, but there wasn't a really great way to ease into it. I have high hopes for this being my way into the mythos!

Great stuff. If you enjoy (or are thinking about trying) Call of Cthulhu, you owe it to yourself to listen to this podcast. The cast is very personable and the various segments are well done. The Jimmy and the Professor segments/ads are particularly funny (Tammy and the Professor?).
  • DM_Markus
A hearty Esoteric Order of Dagon salute!
I am still working my way through previous podcast but I love this podcast. The hosts are knowledgeable and work well together in imparting Cthulhu-ic rpg knowledge to the masses. I am getting ready to keep my first CoC game and this podcast has been an aid and an inspiration. Keep it up and Go Pods!

    Be afraid and entertained
This has become my favorite gaming podcast, and there is a lot of good podcasts out there. The hosts are knowledgeable and entertaining. Their love for the game shines in every episode.
  • MsChristineMarie
    Great listen
My life is currently too busy to allow me to play roleplay games, but I live vicariously through podcasts like this one. I have not been able to play CoC, but I hope to someday. For now, these podcasts accompany me from home to student teaching and from student teaching to home. I have listened to the first 4 podcasts and the live play of No Man's Land. It was interesting to find a listener who called in during the early episodes as part of the live play. When I get to play, I'm sure this podcast will have made my entry into CoC a lot smoother. I will be sad when I catch up to the current podcast and have to wait for more. (Not that it matters, but I seem to be logged into my wife's account and I am too lazy to fix this)
  • PadmesLover

    Fantastic!
As a new Keeper preparing to run my first game, this podcast is awesome. I've learned so much in just a few episodes. I'm so happy I found this podcast right at the beginning. The live play episodes are also very helpful to listen to how a game is run. Keep up the fantastic work, guys! Looking forward to hearing more.
  • jimto74
    good info, good discussion
While the first few shows are mostly review for old time Cthulhu players, it's done well enough that you won't get bored with them discussing things you already know. For noobs though, those shows are invaluable. I wish I had these guys around when I was first learning Call of Cthulhu. The future is bright for these guys, can't wait to see where they take it.
  • straygeologist
A new podcast to join the ranks of YSDC?
I was quite pleased when i started listening to this podcast. One of the things that I'd love to hear folks talk more about were the little aspects of the Call of Cthulhu game like tomes, magic, monsters, and mythos lore. This podcasts looks like it promises to keep giving these subjects that attention. Keep up the good work fellas!
  • theoqaat
