Juke In The Back

48

At the end of the Second World War, economics forced the big bands to trim their once great size and thus, the Jump Blues combo was born. Between 1946-1954, rhythm and blues laid the tracks for what was to become Rock n’ Roll. So how come, 75 years later, this vibrant and influential music is still so unknown to so many? Matt The Cat is going to change that with the radio program, “Juke In The Back.” These were the records that you couldn’t hear on the jukebox in the front of the establishment. To hear all this great 1950s rhythm & blues, you had to go to “Juke In The Back.”

    Matt the Cat is Amazing!
I've been listening to Matt the Cat since he was on XM. Then XM became money hungry and merged with Sirius and poor Matt got the undeserved axe :'( With that being said, if you want to learn about 40's & 50's R&B, Matt is the Man to teach you! It's mind blowing how much history is stored in his furry brain, haha! He's amazing and the music he puts together makes you want to jump up and dance! I HIGHLY recommend his show if you're a true fan of this music ;-) Lot's of luck to you Matt to hopefully gain more fans and more air time. I'm still hoping to hear you on the radio here in Los Angeles :-) And I also cancelled XM/Sirius when they got rid of Matt, and will NEVER go back because of that injustice!

    Thanks Matt
When XM/Sirius dumped MTC I dumped XM/Sirius. They turned satellite radio into a boring, stright laced, FM service that sounds like a Clear Channel station. God bless Matt. I love you for all the hard work you have done for your many fans. I just wish I had found out sonner Juke was on iTunes.

    Juke In The Back
Matt The Cat is a virtual treasure trove of old school rhythm and blues history! XM radio was foolish to cut his program . It was one of the few programs I regularly listened to. Thanks iTunes! This podcast is a winner! God bless Matt the cat!

    Matt the Cat is Back!!!
I was so bummed out when Matt left XM. It was like losing a good friend. With Juke in the Back, Matt is back, better than ever. Having his show available as a podcast makes it very convenient to get the latest installments. By the way I "save" my Juke in the Back episodes for trips to the gym. The time goes by in a flash.

YIPEE! Matt the Cat is back! I got rid of XM when they got rid of him, he exposed me to a bunch of old school R&B that I didn't know about.

Whoo-hoo! Matt The Cat's wonderful Juke In The Back is finally available directly on iTunes as a podcast. I've been an avid listener since its inception. You know what goes on in the juke in the front. Matt The Cat will now show us what goes on in the juke in the back!
