BACK AGAINShow should be part of the Smithsonian MusemShow should be part of the Smithsonian Musem Hi Ben, this is Kieth’s favorite father in law. Love you ear for stereophonic sound and history You just played my favorite Bob Dylan song.” If Dogs Run free” The first time I ever heard live on Radio anywhere. Here a segment idea of forgotten blast from the past. Car Wash. like Car Wash from the movie and Jim Croece’s “Car Wash Blues” The Springfield Pa Car Wash which is where he worked, while playing local coffee houses

val the listenerLike a mix tape from a friend you’re lucky likes youThis guy knows his quality music, regardless of genre. Each show is an invitation to hang out. I can’t say why this hits me in the feels each time, but next time I’m in Joshua Tree, I’m buying Ben lunch.

lindaAndrewsWhat a pleasant surpriseDiscovered Ben Vaughn this morning while exploring my new public radio station. I listened with delight to the wonderful combination of multiple genres woven beautifully into a stream of soulful tunes. I will be binge streaming this podcast for a long time. Thank you Ben bd all who make this possible.

AndonionsFav show on the radioI found this show by listening to XPN, which broadcasts out of Philadelphia. I love the eclectic nature of the music, of never knowing what I’m going to hear next— it’s thrilling, haha! This show has introduced me to so many wonderful, “lost” songs — and I can’t help but think what a shame that so much beautiful music isn’t playing on mainstream stations. But… thanks to this podcast, more people do have the opportunity to enjoy— so thank you!

North SD surf ghettoLove it!Nothing better to do on a Sunday afternoon in the moody Mojave desert than listen to the many moods of Ben Vaughn. If I miss a show, I can now listen to the podcast. Very cool!
-
NiclosiMany Moods It IsHow apropos a name for Ben Vaughn’s weekly show. Music is a mood thing for me and depending on the mood depends on the genre. Ben provides the mood and the genre in a off beat but classic manner.

CivicsmithA mood ring for your earsTake a journey through the echoes of your mind, from coast to coast, rockin’, rollin’, rhythm and blues’n, swinging and swaying to the Many Moods in the Relay Shack, parts unknown, USA.

frannie pieThe Best Radio Can BeSoulful, swinging, smart & weird. Grooving to stuff I’ve deeply loved and almost forgotten & other treasures I didn’t know existed but can’t believe I’ve lived without. It’s like going to a magical garage sale of music. Much thanks for a great show.

Davedavedave!A-one on the jukebox!!The very best music! It’s like he is composing the play list for me.

Phala Beach GirlNever old / Always InterestingThe best music podcast I have listen to since podcasts have entered the scene.

Driveway MomentFantastic show!Over the last many years, I have rarely failed to tune in to the WXPN broadcast 88.5 FM on Saturday nights. There is a library of his shows as Podcasts. So I can make any day feel like a Saturday by listening. All shows are a mix of genres, and you likely won’t know some of the artists but will get hooked on some of them new to you.

Heidi_456Just wow!I stumbled upon this program 3 weeks ago and absolutely love it. So much great music I never heard before from lots of different genres. Like the way radio used to be! Each week a new program is carefully cultivated around the theme of “feel good” music. A timely find during COVID lockdown. And that voice—just wow!

bif4Simply amazingHow he manages to find so much lesser known and yet wonderful music from many periods is beyond me. A fabulous listen

feartheterrapinBizarre, Eclectic, and WonderfulBen curates such an odd and ear-wormy playlist that you can not help but love it.

PhilapeterWalking into an unknown record shop with great music you’ve probably never heard, but in radio formThe Many Moods is eclectic and fun and pretty weird. Ben curates the music superbly and presents song and band names with that rich radio announcer voice of his. Truly a gem of a show. Spread the word and share what you love.

RussC520Top notch! Most music podcasts contain very little actual “music”, but instead are just people talking about music. This one is different in that it actually plays lots of great songs. It consists of a great mix of eclectic and obscure music. Almost every song is one that I’ve never heard before, but they are almost always a great listen. Ben’s commentary is also well-informed and very interesting. He gives just enough info to get you interested in the music, but not so much that the show gets bogged down. This show always makes me realize how much great music is out there that most people never get a chance to hear. Thanks, Ben and keep up the good work.

sharonamiThis show is awesomeIf you like truly eclectic popular music from the 50s 60s 70s and 80s, this is the show for you! This guys library is amazing, I don’t know how he has room to fit it all! Ben Vaughn is an amusing host with interesting stories about almost every song. Such an enjoyable listen. Every week I eagerly look for the next many moods podcast.

Karl SupertrampMany Moods 4 Many YearsI'm 18 years old and have grown up listening to Ben Vaughn's Many Moods every Saturday night on 88.5xpn. Hidden gems. Jerry Blavat is great too
-
Fat and Furious 65A real ear openerI’ve been listening since he began with WXPN and learn something new, as well as re-discover forgotten music, at every episode. Can’t recommend enough.
-
Mark GlemserThe collection is amazingBen Vaughn has a collection few can ever assemble. The variety never bores me and the deep origins of many songs is educational at minimum. Sooo happy I can now podcast the ‘moods’!
-
Trog PintMany decades, many styles, many moods.I love that I can download this as a podcast and listen to it on my own schedule. Ben Vaughn's radio show is my favorite music podcast to listen to, and I look forward to listening every week.

SteeleEmpireA must listenThis is in my top 10 downloads! I love this show and never miss one! It scratches my eclectic music tastes and opens my eyes to genres I've never heard of. Do yourself a favor and subscribe today!

Josh in PhiladelphiaBest RadioBen has the best radio show on the dial. I look forward to that single hour each week with him playing things I love, things I've never heard and blending it together making it all somehow familiar. Great job!
-
smiller807Always Intersting:I have been playing the podcasts during our weekly poker game. It took a while but I think I have converted everyone. We are all in our sixties and spend time between hands guessing who the artist is. We all admit that some songs are locked in our conciousness from forty years ago and this is bringing them back. Thanks for all the work.

Jukebox JohnA National TreasureWhat radio should be like.

BiaviianGreat Music Shared by a Cool Host!I've been listening to the show on WXPN for about a year and I love it! It's a wonderful mix of music from the collection of a fun host and cool musician. The podcast lets me take it on the road and at work - the two places I need good music the most. give this show a listen!
-
kenren10my favorite hour of the weekI've always considered my musical tastes eclectic (and eccentric) but Ben never fails to play me something I never knew before. My (older) GF has even been converted (though she's not wild about punk, I just turn it down a bit for 2 minutes). I always had great respect for Ben as a musician and songwriter but I never knew how deep and wide his passion runs. Keep it up, I love it.
-
