ID10T with Chris Hardwick

13,796

I am Chris Hardwick. This podcast used to be called Nerdist. Now it is not. It is still basically just me talking about stuff and things with my two nerdy friends Jonah Ray and Matt Mira when they’re available, and usually someone more famous and smarter than all of us. Swearing is still fun, so we still do that occasionally. I hope you like this new iteration which is the same as before, but if a name hangs you up unhealthily I’m sure you will not hesitate to unfurl your rage not only in the ‘reviews’ section but also now on all the various social media platforms that have popped up since we started in 2010, effectively murdering blogs.

    Loved this show
I loved this show so much. It got me through college and I had to put it away when I got to graduate school. I’m picking it back up because right now I need comfort! Thank yall for being you!

    Sometimes beautiful, always interesting
I’ve been going through old episodes and just listened to the episode with Louie Anderson and your mom. Louie Anderson dropping f-bombs is maybe the funniest thing I’ve ever heard. The dialogue between the two of them was touching and lovely and sweet and funny. You create a great space with your guests. Well done. Keep it up.

Glad that he’s taking his time
Chris worked so hard to get where he’s at. This pod is a great platform… and will still be there when he’s ready to return. He seems like he enjoyed working with people who he truly admired, respected, and who he was curious about.

    Options do not function
Why won’t the list of episodes go from oldest to newest? And why doesn’t it hide played episodes?

    Please come back!
Miss the old days of Chris, Matt, and Jonah, but loved it when it was just Chris too! This podcast was the first podcast I ever listened to and i’ve been following from the very beginning. So many funny moments and so many deep soul searching moments. Absolutely beautiful and could not be happier for all your many successes over the years Chris, but especially of course finding a beautiful woman and now mother of your child. But please come back, it doesn’t have to be regularly or even on a set schedule of any kind. But I’d love to hear your perspective on things happening around you now as a father. Whatever you decide know that your fans love you and respect you very much. God bless ❤️

    Always a Treat

    Such a shame
Used to love nerdist but this is not the same podcast no matter how much they try to sell you that it is. Matt and Jonah are nonexistent and the show lacks because of it. Plus it’s been super inconsistent.

    When might you return?
I know you have a perfect little distraction right now, but I really miss your voice and hope you will return soon. We want to hear you as a Dad!

    “Comedy” interviews
Nah. Logrolling of the worst sort. Not your dad’s Nerdist (sadly).

    Yvette’s no Shirley
Shirley Bennett is adorable and lovable. Yvette Nicole Brown is anything but. Listening to her broke my heart. Not that she would care.

Now that Gilbert Gottfried is gone, this podcast may be the last best hope for people like me who enjoy talking about the movies, music and Television of the past. Give it a try.

    Happy for you
I know it’s probably for the best you don’t read these reviews for your own mental health but I’m really stoked for you and your family, becoming a father is an amazing thing and can truly bring the best out of you. Now your kids can tell you before bed to “Enjoy your burrito”
  • KariKButNotKardashian
    Yikes
Can Chris calm down and let the guests actually speak?

    Time to call it quits
I’ve listened to this show since the first year. Silly conversations with Matt, Jonah and guests, host-ful podcasts, Cringe Harrison Ford, Tom York, Jonah bullying Matt, Matt whining, Matt's left handed guitars, Jonah Raydio, Nerdist, Bowling, at midnight, ATOS, talk soup etc. When the podcast went from fun conversation with friends about goofy topics to comedic theory and the science of Hollywood it lost me. No more Matt and Jonah is a significant difference. The show would be unbearable without Chris. Unfortunately the show is boring without Matt and/ or Jonah. It was good while it lasted. Enjoy your burrito.

My god. Beautiful. He told us all in your talkings about how he was dealing with his health. Great listen

    Horrible
Try to listen to the interview with Kurt loder. Every 15 seconds is some kind of inside joke or snarky laughing. Just do an interview and stop trying to act like everything is so cute or you’re so funny. Not everyone is giddy andHyper. Just hard to listen to. Shame

Ads in middle of the show?
What’s with the ads in the middle of the interview? Love this podcast but do it at the beginning or end.
  • Newgenup
    Bad audio from host
I’m a huge fan of Chris Hardwick, but I find this podcast hard to listen to as his audio is always awful. As a tech guy he should have better equipment. If you enjoy a brilliant and funny guy talking into a soup can, this is the podcasts for you.
  • Parakozm
One of the best interview podcasts!
Chris deserves a spot on the Mt. Rushmore of podcast hosts! His conversations are super chill and entertaining!
  • TAB_9000
    Show is getting stale
I think the problem is that most of these guests have been on the show multiple times and Chris has run out of things to ask them. I wasn't interested in hearing him and Kevin Bacon talk about playing the guitar for 20 minutes. Likewise, I listened to him interview Erin Moriarty and they spent about 20 minutes talking about their interior design asthetics. I want to hear the celebs talk about their careers and their shows, not mundane crap that's only of interest to them and Chris.
  • Force Ghost
    Use to be a fan
But Chris is a creep and was called out on it a while back. Shocked this show is still a thing a famous people still participate. Bad look and out of touch af. Pretty disappointing really. Dude a real joss whedon type.
  • Mehprime
    Disappointment
Enjoyed him on "Talking Dead", this is a "meh", great guests and I am baffled why they do such an incurious show.
  • tmlarso
    It used to be fun
The nerdist days were fun, but the podcast has lost its way. Now it’s just a rich guy talking to other rich people. The interviews are bland and it has become totally difficult to relate to.
  • Hey Bartender Podcast
    If I could I would
Chris is doing what I wish I could! If I could interview celebrities I would would fan boy all over these people!

When it gets cued up and you miss
When Elizabeth Shue reveals her disappointment in getting an Oscar nomination and not changing the trajectory of her career, it’s such a ripe field to harvest. It’s like you didn’t listen. It was a shame and a real disappointment for the listener.

    Just the Best
I have to say that Chris is so good at having interesting conversation about all topics but still focusing on the guest. I feel like this level of interviewing is lacking in podcasts.
  • mando621
    New Nerdist?
I hope you are leaving the over-the-top dude bro stuff behind. The constant in-joke laughing and stupid innuendo definitely took away from any interesting guest interviews. Guest were compelled to join in the male juvenile vibe which diluted their own personalities and stories. Everyone deserves a second chance.
  • The Eastern Heretic
    Pretty boring
Listened to a few episodes, the host is pretty milquetoast. I found it boring.

    Thanks for the recs!
Chris interviewing people regarding his own hobbies has helped me immensely with getting started on my dream home! Each episode gives me something personal to work on as well as ideas for turning a passion into a business. Great advice and great guests!
  • LojoColorado
    My new favorite!
Chris is a great interviewer and has guests on that are interesting and inspiring and aren’t doing every other podcast. He culls great stories. Some interviewers spend more time talking than they do listening to their guest - not Chris - his ego does not get in the way. Thank you Chris for your work - I’m especially grateful to have this during COVID!
  • EASchmidtE
Thanks for making a great thing that I love!
I feel like if Chris Hardwick and I had grown up together, we’d be the best of friends. He seems so friendly and has so many interests in common with mine. All his guests and occasional co-hosts seem at ease because of his genuine interest and friendly attitude. Lots of fun, interesting topics, and guests that suit my personality and style. Every once in a while, there are some topics I think won’t be interesting, but after listening, I get into it and have learned something lore about the world or myself. I’ve been a listener since the early days at Nerdist and I’ll never stop listening. Many of the guests have podcasts that I’ve started listening to because of Chris and his podcast. I guess you could say ID10T is my gateway podcast of choice. Thanks for making a great thing!

    Good Job
Enjoy your podcasts - you have a good interview style. I also enjoy your mom’s tweets. She’s an incredibly nice lady. All my best to you and your family. Keep the episodes coming - I’ll keep listening!

    Stopping listening
I feel like listening to this would make me an ID10T. Who cares about TV celebrities? No one.

    Superficial & Painful
So hard to listen all of the way through the interviews, the interruptions scrape the back of my brain. Plus very Sammy Glick.

    Louie
I love this show I’ve been listening for at least 3 years, and I love this podcast! It was my gateway podcast... anyhow... I love the episodes with Louie Anderson! I really think you guys mesh really well and should make some type of content together. You guys are great and inspire me, thank you.

    this is still a thing??
i thought this boy was cancelled 😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬 it is 2020 isn’t it?? can someone contact the NerdPop management about this?
  • Shadowsmith1
    Pretentious and boring.
This podcast is disappointing in so many ways. While Chris often gets great guests, he almost every time wastes his opportunities. It’s just armchair self help postulating. No depth, no grit, no challenging questions. Chris is afraid to touch on anything below the surface and as a result the podcast is simply boring. It’s not terrible, but it’s not good, it just ... is.
