Woodside LoftGreat info and love listeningThanks for all the information and sharing all your experiences. I’m taking in information from every podcast I’m listening too. I’ll continue listening and learning and applying. Thanks again- Woodside Loft

under 30.Usually a glorified feed commercial8 out of every 10 episodes usually end up just being some indirect argument for *Tucker Milling* Feed. You’ll be amazed at how often it comes up.

vnycumMust listen Podcast 🐓Great podcast. Very informative and terrific guests. My chickens won’t give it 5 stars because they’re not getting treats anymore. Win for me though, not spending money on expensive treats, along with having healthy birds! Thank you keep up the great work. Valorie from Bat Cave NC

Ash-ley76532Look elsewhere for chicken info…Not worth the time listening to his podcast. If you can get past the poor audio, loads of ads,and the rambling- the content at the end of the tunnel is not worth it. Handfuls if relevant information buried in biased and subjective statements. I listened to three different episodes from different times in the podcast and gave up. Even the vet that was featured didn’t speak well and used generalized statements. If you want useful and validated information I recommend Coffee With The Chicken Ladies.

mmdeneI really want to like your podcast, butI really want to like this podcast, but the rabbit holes/off topic discussions make this almost impossible to focus on. Ugh!!! Stay on topic! Improve your audio!
-
middleacresPellets are not the answerThis show doesn’t actually interview the vets and medical experts it purports in the descriptions. The host believes that only premixed pellets are the correct food for chickens. Why bother with this host…?

Ms. XxxoWonderfulI love the real information!!! Reputable guests that actually know what they are talking about! I’ve learned so much from this podcast! Great job! No crazy old wives tails! Lol.. keep up the good work

adios00Gave it an honest trySome of the guests on this show are really high-quality with valuable information. But it’s pretty apparent that many of them are as dumbfounded by the host’s lack of tact, focus, and distractions. The last episode I listened to, the host went on a rant about how he’d “let his birds starve,” before feeding them a certain low-grade commercial feed… only to be followed up by his guest, a nutritionist, discussing how chickens MUST be digesting something basically at all times and that irreparable damage can be done by not feeding for as little as 24 hours. Whoops..! Most episodes involve calls dropping or interruptions by dogs or people.

magnoliamomaIt’s a no from meThis show is more political than anything else. Was hoping to escape political jargon by listening to chicken podcasts. Between the opinionated comments and the dang adds (not to mention the AM radio station quality sound), I was immediately turned off. We the people need more info about actual chickens, chicken keeping, health, breeds, etc.. Just overall disappointing.
-
andyisadoucheI want to like this showAndy, I really want to like your show, the “farmy” commercials I like, even the awful sound is bearable, but please stop being such a snarky, condescending douche about getting information to people who need it.

JdkdodksnnfolsmsnsnsktltmxClaims to be factual based not opinion but...I like the info provided and the comfortable atmosphere that’s created however, in the very beginning the host goes off about he is fact based and not opinion based then proceeds to give tips based on things that are “probably” bad and a “possible” a risk. If you’re using words like “probably,” you’re not talking facts; that’s an opinion.

Will from ColoradoStuck in the 1950sSo listening to this podcast, I felt that it’s a very old fashioned. It was very obvious that it’s biased towards industrial, CAFO (concentrated animal feeding operations) given how the guests talk. This was very apparent when the subject of pasture raised or anything that’s not in a confinement building comes up. It was a disappointment to listen to and this podcast has certainly not come into this century. Speaking of, it’s literally like listening to the radio from the 1950s too. Audio is horrific, given how easily obtainable decent sound recording equipment is. The 1/3 of the show I have to skip through due to commercials that are in 3-5 minute blocks is the same way. Ultimately, would not recommend to anyone. There a lot of better podcasts out there that focus on raising poultry, both in a farm setting and in the backyard.

whatevrworksContent Great Audio.... no.Great content and great guests but the audio quality is absolutely horrible. Come on get rid of phone line calls Skype and others are virtually free and offer high quality audio. You can record better sound quality on an iPad with free software.

Tina from hennyandroo.comEnjoyableGreat info about my favorite hobby!

DLLO28InconsistentInformation is inaccurately skewed and he contradicts his own information from one podcast to the next (presumably to keep sponsors happy)

ReedruneI'm confused-is this just ads?Over five minutes of ads and still going strong. Much better ways to spend my time.
-
Joe Green Garden AcresToo much advertisement and not even a good interviewer! The ads on this show go on and on. Then, the interviewer never seems prepared to actually interview his guests. I want an interviewer that draws more out of the guest. This guy at times just babbles on about what he thinks. Not worth my time.

~ Violet ~Waste Of TimeI wish I could give this podcast negative stars. Clearly the host/producers of this show do not respect my time. Or my ears. I honestly don't know which is worse, the shrill theme music, coughing & lip smacking, or the solid wall of advertising and incoherent nonsense. Is there even a point to this podcast? I'm seriously noting all the advertisers to put on my "boycott" list for supporting this horrid time-wasting show.

CuzkimoGreen AcresStuck with it for about 10 minutes before crying uncle. Way too much useless information.

Jbelanger86I'm hooked!I find this program very informative. I laugh, I learn, I win prizes, I make friends. I highly recommend this show to anyone and everyone whether they have chickens or not.

Person AHIgnore the whiners. ;) Great showAndy puts a LOT of time and effort into his work and show, he works HARD advocating for back yard poultry keepers everywhere. Listen and you might learn a few things!!

bettybadazzCUT BACK ON ADS & BS ALREADYThe high and mighty CW spends too much time preaching about the man, and should spend more time educating people. If you can pick through the ads and the BS Whining there is some good content. I love Pat she is a POSTIVE and upbeat side to the show, but even she can't make up for Mr. Negativity. I recommended this show to a "rich" friend and this man insulted and alienated him because he owns a good car, lives in a good neighborhood, and has money. So lets recap. Only download this show if you are negative, down on the man, and you blame the rest of the world for not matching with your ideal lifestyle... Got it? Not very Christian is it? I thought this show was about chickens, aparently its about one giant Turkey....

BilfieldsTea Party ChickensThese people might know a bit about chickens but to get to it you have to listen to right wing Tea Party rhetoric, uninformed blathering about world events, anti-government commentary, racist impersonations and jokes, a lot of ego inflating and borderline survivalist commentary. All that after you listen to a excessively long (and bad) intro and at least half the air time taken up with commercials (one presumes the number is so excessive because they get paid for them). It is too bad. If they would stick to chickens, leave their politics and egos out of it and do one concise, themed and focused episode a week rather than trying to do a daily show it could be a good podcast. As it is if you didn’t vote Republican---or to the right of them—and don’t care for racism or classism you are probably better off taking your chickens elsewhere.

CMorse NHWay, way, WAY too many ads!Considering that the show is about an hour and a half long, you actually get about 30 minutes of content. I think the guests cover 15 minutes (spread out over 2 or 3 commercial breaks), host and co-host chat for about 15 minutes, and the rest is idle chatter and COMMERCIALS!! I'm going to have to unsubscribe. One reason I subscribe to a lot of podcasts is because the CONSTANT COMMERCIALS on the radio (and on TV) drive me nuts. I'm sure I can find the information for myself somewhere else without wasting an hour at a time on blather, chit-chat, and commercials. Sorry, Andy. I know other podcasts (including Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me) that cut commercials before publishing the podcast, and others (like Leo LaPorte, The Tech Guy) who manage to include commercials without spending over half their airtime on them.

JktrahanAd Heavy and to much jabberI thought I had found the mother load when I came across this podcast, but after listening to a couple of episodes I am highly disappointed. The first 10 to 15 minutes of each show is straight advertising then usually another 10 or 15 minutes of chatter that is unrelated to the topic at hand. Once they finally get to the topic I usually do find it interesting, but my god please stream line the ads a little and cut way back on the chatter. Thanks
-
amygirl73OH GOSH!! please just get to the educational part of the show alreadyWay TOO much advertisement, and way too much un-necessary un intelligent talk. Background noises from the remotes are distracting.Takes way to long to get to informative portions of the podcast, then is derailed by more advertisement and rabbit trails(thats where a host goes off on a tangent), I listened to 3 podcasts, then never listened again, it was a waste of my time, and I am a novice.

Greg in MphsIt's a mixBackyard poultry owner, I subscribe to Backyard Poultry magazine, I am a suburban gardener and aspire to sustainability. The subject matter hits home for me and occasionally a show is worth listening to. However, the show is about 1 1/2 hours long but has 30 minutes of content. I have no problem with the significant number of adds as I have found them useful and purchased products from the sponsors. The sponsors have led me to find local vendors that have been useful. However, there is a great deal of banter about unrelated topics and precious little discussion about relevant topics.

jlh in PhoenixEducationalI've really enjoyed this podcast. Pat and Andy complement each other nicely -- Pat does a good job of grounding Andy when he starts in on one of his rants. Love the guest vets and representatives from the different poultry associations. Great job!

Kinetic ChickenNew Urban Chicken(s) owner.I found Andy Schneider the "Chicken Whisperer" after I had bought 3 ISA Brown chicks. The chicks are now about 4 months old. I had learned so many tips on basic chicken raising to help me along. There are so many examples of how the show had helped me across a broad range of topics from coop layout and design to feed choices and types. I live in the heart of Chicago's city neighborhoods where the urban setting has a few of its own unique issues ...so I thought. Andy's show covers day to day issues relating to rural, suburban and urban chicken keeping as well as issues related to northern and southern climates. I have become a loyal listener enjoying the varied subjects, interesting and knowledgeable guests, as well as topical news stories. Andy manages to do all this and keep it lively and entertaining . Thank you Andy for all your efforts! Chris
