Spiritual Tools for an Outrageous World

Judaism #202

Hi, I’m David Sacks, and WELCOME to my podcast! I write and produce for TV including shows like "The Simpsons". I went to Harvard. I’ve even won an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe award. I love making cool TV shows, but I also have another side where I love exploring the fantastically, mysterious, beauty of creation, and seeing it through the lens of spirituality, quantum physics, psychology, storytelling and art. I give these talks to share all the amazing things I’ve learned along the way. I post a new talk every Sunday.

    New to me
Thanks to a Tucker Carlson episode, I ‘met’ David Sacks. I’m really grateful I learned of him and his podcast. I’ve been listening like a starving wanderer since finding it. So many segments that I want to stop and make notes so I don’t forget to tell this person or that person a particular gem. Very blessed to have another spiritual teacher in my life. I’m a Christian but consider myself a spiritual Jew. May God continue to bless David and all he does.

    The Highest
I’ve been listening to David’s podcast for easily over 7 years. Some words I choose to describe it are: Amazing, Deep, Spiritual, Meaningful, Easy To Understand, Love, Life Changing, Eye and Heart Opening, Impactful, Etc. I can go on and on but you get the picture. I also am blessed to know David in real life and he is a beacon of light to me. Honored to be his friend.

    Yaacov Avinu's Small Jars
Dear Mr. Sacks, thank you for your continued inspiration and empowering lectures. Regarding the source for the "small jars," see the Sfas Emes where Yaacov Avinu has the dream and wakes up to find the stones united into one and a jar of oil. The oil was not their before he went to sleep. Yaacov understands that this oil was to annoint the unified stone. When he pours the contents out, he observed that the jar miraculously was full of oil. Yaacov then realized that he was to keep this jar of oil. Says the Sfas Emes this jar of oil was the one that eventually used in the miracle of Chanukkah. May the light of Chanukka illuminate your life. gratefully, Meir

    Wonderful Work -- Thank You!
This is a fabulous series. I have probably listened to more than 30 of these talks. They are packed with content and full of delicious detail. Once in a while the logic is a bit more fantastical than I am comfortable with -- but overall, homeruns almost every week. I especially like how he sometimes provides interpretations based on the physical forms of the Hebrew letters. Although Mr. Sacks is not an ordained rabbi, he is a gaon -- a funny, pleasant, generous, non-pretentious gaon. You will be missing something important if you don't check out these talks. Congratulations and thank you Mr. Sacks!

    Love This Class
This class is really incredible. For me his lectures include everything I want in a learning session: broad esoteric concepts, anecdotal references, odd tangents, practical advice, personal and liturgical stories and of course solid Talmudic and Biblical references. His personal approach to the concepts he's investigating is totally practical, and applicable to every-day living. Can't wait to hear more!!!
