UselessdaveFun movie chat with some fun funny folksThis is a silly, but smart podcast about bad movies with 3 cohosts and often with special guests. They love good movies and find a way to say something unique about bad movies. Enjoy!
-
Cyberhippo1Muy buenoI appreciate how well these peaches articulate ideas, discuss storytelling/writing and generally express opinions.

J ClamBorderlineJust finished your broadcast about borderline then saw advertised on one of the streaming services. Had to watch it. Yep, you were right. Really enjoy your show. Just started listening and glad I stumbled onto it. Best line? , “We’re going to need a bigger boat” from Jaws.

Blue stars biggest fanHiiii Elliot it’s Tom Manning’s daughterHey! I love this show so much, my dad is good friends with Elliot and I finally got into this amazing show. It’s so goofy and fun and makes me smile at least 1,000 times and laugh at least a thousand more. I love your cats episode and all the horror movie episodes of movies I can’t watch. Keep being funny, but then again there’s no way you couldn’t. Keep me posted on the horror movies!!! -Tom’s daughter

cocodrilo coheteGreat Bad Movie PodcastEDIT: Still great. Glad to see them returning to Sketchfest! I follow a few bad movie podcasts, but this could be my favourite. The three hosts have a unique chemistry and sense of humour. I've listened to every episode three times over. The first few episodes are a little rough and have poor sound quality. Stick with it, they get into a groove pretty quickly. Please continue making these great shows.

Clay53410 years of flopThis podcast has helped me through too many times to count. After the election I switched tuned out some politics for the Flop House. Thanks for all you do and keeping the archives open. Love a dedicated Flopper

AboveDadverageHow I handle adulthoodThe original peaches tie together pop-culture, a deep and weird love of movies, appreciation and criticism, jokes, bits, characters, xoxo Nick Cage, theme months, songs, and laughs galore together in the hunt for the eternal rainbow unicorn that is the “Good Bad Movie”. I have been listening to the flophouse for 11ish years. This podcast has been there mixing silly, thoughtful, and stupid in the right portions long before me joining in. This is my A#1 podcast and the only podcast I have ever put in the effort to go see live. It helps me get through every week. Last but not least, their recommendations are incredible! Dan loves horny dad movies, Elliot loves film-aficionado dad movies, and Stu loves movies where there exists the possibility a ding-dong gets ripped off. Live, Laugh, Love, Flophouse

father of the sad babyCould be greatThis show could be so good if Elliott would talk 40% less and interrupt 75% less. Unfortunately doesn’t seem like that’ll happen
-
Steven M.D.From the early daysI’ve been listening to these guys since they’re very first shows. They are always a riot. They are also informative about movies, my favorite topic.
-
ShipwackOne of the few pods that literally make me LOLInsightful commentary, random character sketches, and they give themselves the freedom to chase after shiny objects, as long as it’s entertaining. They also aren’t snobs, and willingly admit to liking a flick even if it has zero production values.
-
Kitty StrykerMakes me laugh every timeI’m pretty new to listening to this podcast, but I’ve been listening to a couple episodes a day for weeks, and I really really enjoy it! I like the goofs, but I also really like the moments of vulnerability, and it’s just fun to listen to these three pal around and talk about movies. My only minor quibble is always wanting to hear more about Dan's cats! (And I'll say it, I like Elliott's voice, so there.)
-
ChonnkAbsolutely hilariousOne of my can’t-miss podcasts every week. Dan, Stewart, and Elliott are smart, funny, and knowledgeable about movies. That they’ve focused their attention on (principally) pretty bad movies gives them license to discuss—with real insight—why movies fall short. Bit all three of them are very funny, and they approach their reactions to the movie with humor at the front of their minds. So you’ll find yourself laughing out loud, week after week. Enjoy.

JkjjjjjjjMy favorite podcast for many yearsI found The Flop House six or seven years ago and it’s maintained its status as my favorite podcast since. Early episodes, current episodes and minis, it’s all great stuff. Seeing the peaches live in SF earlier this year was a special treat. If you have any interest in humor, give it a listen.

Mateo RoOne of My Favorite PodcastsLove them peaches! Have listened for 4+ years and enjoy each and all of these guys. Elliot with his love of song, puns and intersplicing Czech New Wave and early oughts (20th century) film making, Stuart with his weaving of warhammer, LoTR and slasher movie enthusiasm and Dan being the glue that keeps it all together, with the patience of Job and insightful commentary to keep things on track. Thanks for the many many hour of enjoyment you guys! 😊

StevevmdSuperbLook forward to this podcast every week. Have been listening for years - I love movies & love to laugh so what more could anyone want? These guys are great with amazing chemistry, insights, and humor. Miss at your own peril.

pseudocleverHosts have amazing chemistryThis has been one of my favorite podcasts for many years. They talk about bad movies, ostensibly. But it's really a podcast where three friends have fun making each other laugh. Each of them is independently a comedy genius, but there's a special magic that they create when they're together. This show has been a constant companion through good times and bad, and it never fails to make me smile. The dynamic of, Elliott's frenetic Micro Machines pitchman energy; Dan's world-weary but hopeful straight man; and Stewart's easy Ninja Turtle charm, makes for a perfect comedy recipe. And don't listen to people who say Elliott's voice is annoying. After a couple episodes, it's actually quite charming.
-
transatlantic_chapWonderful, silly, hilariousThe thing that sets The Flop House apart from other Bad Movie Podcasts I’ve listened to, is that Dan, Stuart and Elliott always approach their task with a sense of whimsy, curiosity and sincerity. They’re never mean-spirited or angry about a particular bad movie, more just mystified and amused by it. I feel like 9 times out of 10 the makers of the film under discussion could listen along and have a great time. They genuinely love and understand cinema, and their enthusiasm is contagious. Also, they have remained great friends for well over a decade, and I’ve been a fan of their show from the beginning. Lovely stuff — never change, Peaches.

KMC322Great podcastLove to listen to the peaches!

catarang3AnnoyingI’ve listened to the show for 4 years. Still can’t tell Dan and Stewart’s voices apart. Can’t stand Elliot’s voice which is a real shame cause he’s the only funny one on the show. Their support of furries is what really did it for me though. There’s progress and then there’s moral negligence. These people are marginalized like any other neurodivergent community but instead of helping them with their body dysmorphia and the depression which typically accompanies the issue, people throw them parades and support their conventions. It’s the same as supporting any self destructive addiction. You can’t truly say you love and support a person or peoples if you’re not willing to give them the help and long term solutions they need to live happy lives. Saying, “It’s cool to be a furry,” is discouraging people who need help with creating and maintaining bonds and habits that ensure happy, healthy lives. The solution for every marginalized group is not normalization. Sometimes psychiatric help, medication, or better social services is the fix. Give people a real fighting chance. Don’t just tolerate the behavior and turn your back on neurodivergent peoples only once they’ve offended you personally. The same disdain many of us have for former generations physically ruining the earth is the same disdain we all should have for people who aren’t willing to do the moral and social work we need right now—all over the world. It’s difficult and it’s uncomfortable but it’s the next generation who suffers. This is coming from a neurodivergent person who couldn’t be more thankful people did not give up on me. Instead they had those difficult conversations with me helped even after every time I failed. And so I’d be happy to do the same for these people. I won’t scorn them and want treat them as a spectacle. I’ll treat them as a friend to be made and be there for them in the ways that actually matter rather than taking the easy way out—blindly supporting people you don’t bother to understand. I did like this show a lot.
-
DingyfacePeople talking over each otherSpecifically, one host (you’ll recognize his voice as the most annoying) repeatedly cuts in on the other hosts. Honestly, the show is overall good (if you like the kind of show that discuss a single film in some sort with spoilers), but this aspect of it really detracts.
-
EforEmdashesThey watch bad movies so you don’t have toYears-long listener who loves this often silly, sometimes heartfelt, always witty show. Stuart, and Dan are best friends who know movies (good, bad, and terrible) and care about each other even more than they care about comedy. I’m a lady who doesn’t spend time on Marvel, the other one, video games, action, or horror, but will happily listen to the Peaches bantering about all of the above. It’s some combination of familiarity, discovery, and appreciation for vulnerable (yet roasting) male camaraderie. I’m always extra psyched when they watch something I’d actually be likely to see, or have a guest on who’s not a millennial white guy. Still, they all have such different personalities and perspectives that we get to see each movie from multiple angles. The Flop House is a reliable treat for the whole family (of adults).

driven2reviewrEALLY REALLy like itIt’s the best when they talk about a movie I’ve seen. They are amazing live
-
ZaneGreyLodestoneWeekly listener since 2018This is a show made by 3 very different cohosts who love movies - all movies, especially but not exclusively genre flicks, and especially the really good and REALLY TERRIBLE ones. They are very funny, have great chemistry and they also have encyclopedic knowledge of film history and film lore. Can’t get enough of it!
-
RGMareeLove this showI am a longtime listener, and I enjoy it more all the time. One of the last events I went to before the pandemic was a live Flophouse show, it was great!
-
solarexplorerF is for flop house, A is for its gradeHilarious and charming. Dunno why they are collectively called peaches. I recommend you start with any episode where they review a movie you have seen.
-
Lumi_EnkelinFunnyI’m dealing with an embarrassing medical problem right now and can’t sleep, so my first instinct is listen to the Flop House. For some reason I find the combination of Dan and Stuart’s dulcet tones along with Elliott’s incessant barrage of words to be soothing. I’ve listened to most episodes several times and still think it’s funny… Except for the Elliott’s songs, but the rest of the show makes up for that. Thanks for years of entertainment, guys.
-
>>>>\\\\Loved it for yearsI could say a lot of great things about the Flop House, but all I can think about now are the incredibly catchy Dune musical proposals from the last mini episode. Normally I would say my favorite “treat” episodes are the bonus Flop Tales with Zhubin Parang and all Hallie Haglund episodes- but now I think it will always be space guild pilots singing about flying for CHOAM. I’m ready to invest! Oh wait, I already have, for a long time. Love you guys, thanks for what you do.
-
rgawronA Baliset Player on the SietchEliott’s mashup of Dune with Fiddler on the Roof is the single funniest episode of a podcast I have ever heard. I laughed so hard I cried. I played it for my wife and she laughed. I then played it for my kids, and they rolled their eyes at me, but also laughed.

johnnysgonnadieNo More Tom Brokaw, I Beg Of YouHighly recommended comedy podcast. A regular feature in my pod listening regimen. Would you all please join me in decrying the abominating waste that is co-host Elliot Kalan’s impression of retired NBC newsman Tom Brokaw? We must band together at this critical juncture to see that the erring Flop House participant desists from this unwanted practice. I believe there is still a chance for the show to be salvaged as I implore Mr. Kalan to turn back from this comedy killing malfeasance. If we, the listeners, register our collective distaste of this upsetting trend perhaps we can restore the virtue this long running and cherished program has carried itself with for most of its existence. Here’s to Dan and Stu🍻whom it appears have maintained their sense of integrity and decorum through this challenging period. I put it to the two of you also, reign in your wayward Flop House colleague in whatever form of chastisement and discipline you deem effective to thwart his shocking affront to the comedic art. I know I am not alone in my feelings on this matter. May we stand as one against this threatening tide as we optimistically face ahead with the blazing hope that this Flop House ship is expeditiously set back onto its otherwise impeccable course.🩴🏠🚢🫡

HamburgerHelpful1GreatHilarious comforting classic podcast with unpredictable creativity
-
Jack3547Hilarious and heart warmingI’ve been listening to the flop house for over ten years now and it continues to make me laugh and teach me about movies every week. The chemistry between the hosts makes you feel like you’re hanging with some friends, which is very comforting. I’m not even a movie nerd and rarely watch bad movies, but love this podcast anyway - if you even vaguely enjoy movies and comedy, you’ll love this podcast.
-
SbeachincOne of my FavoritesFantastic podcast that cracks me up, literally making me open my mouth and laugh (sometimes wheeze-laugh uncontrollably). Good cross between smart-dumb and dumb-dumb jokes. Behold the staying power of this Bad Movie Podcast, from the time when you where done either a comedian, bad movie podcast, or Dan Carlin. Excellent show full of jokes that will infect your life unless of a dastardly team-up between 7 Pounds and The Contest Ruiner steals them. Realized I had not reviewed in all this time so went to it!
-
ChilledOutInTheSouthHilariousI started listening last year and The Flop House’s humor and interesting commentary has kept me going in times of transition. I really appreciate that these guys highlight the positives of flop movies when they’re present, giving kudos to, e.g., makeup artists or special effects even when the script is rough. The commentary is funny but doesn’t feel mean-spirited!
-
Michelle&boysFunny friends chatting about bad moviesI listen to podcasts when I am otherwise occupied, and this podcast is reliably good and one of the few where I listen to all the episodes. All three hosts are funny, and are quick witted. Best episode: Cats the movie.
-
SledReynaldsRealized I have never ratedI’ve been listening for about 5 years and I’m a max fun donor and I realized have never rated the podcast! Love these peaches. The flop house is literally my favorite podcast. ❤️
-
macmillan84A True Happy PlaceListening to these three friends synopsize “bad” movies or play games with little to no rules or structure in off weeks is something I look forward to. Are they insightful? Yes. Are they funny? Yes. Do they do the work of sitting through the bad movies so I can listen to them talk about it while I do dishes and laundry? Yes.
-
ShouldveEssential listening if you love movies (and laughing)The Flop House is the only podcast I listen to, and I listen almost every day. They don’t just savage movies, they actually have great insights into how all movies could be better. The hosts are funny — literally laugh-out-loud funny — and their hilarious interplay lets you get to know them as people. They also recommend movies they like and that has expanded my enjoyment of film. Seriously, listen and you’ll want to subscribe and support.
-
LumpyiglooProtect Stuart at all costsBut truly this show is a standard for me. Love the Peaches!
-
djones999The best podcastI’ve been listening since the Oogieloves episode (10 years!) and cannot begin to express how great this podcast is. Dan, Stuart, and Elliott are an essential part of every week. I love their wit, insight, and decency. It’s the only podcast I’ve stuck with for this long. Thank you floppers!
-
@}-------Number 1 Podcast for All Your Nonsense NeedsHilarious without being mean spirited... at least not to people who aren't Dan. Elliott's songs and remixes are always stuck in my head. Especially That's How It Works and the Rocket Crocodile song. The best part is when they just hang out and don't talk about the movie... which is most of the podcast. I'm giving it 5 out of 5 amazings. Update: over a decade and hundreds of episodes in and the boys still got it. They’ve grown and they’re still silly and delightful but their thoughtful takes are also incredibly nuanced. 10 out of 10 amazings. Also team make Hallie Haglund star of the show always.
-
HottoritaThe BEST of the BEST!I love these guys soooo much! They remind me of spending time with old friends and just talking about nonsense and laughing until you cry. The kind of friends you can just be completely yourself with. I’ve been listening for years and still eagerly await each new episode. I love the regular episodes where they talk about movies and the minis where they talk about whatever. I’m just happy to be spending more time laughing with my guys!
-
emmy_node_grazierHilarious buddiesHilarious and heart-warming to hear these friends have such fun each week. My favorite podcast by far.
-
jsnellImpossibly funny, you don’t regret itLots of people like watching bad movies. And even talking about bad movies. The difference here is that these three guys are incredibly funny -- when talking about the bad movies and when on wild tangents unrelated to the bad movies. It's no wonder that these fellows are professional comedians and comedy writers. Their quick wits and amazing pop culture knowledge make this one of the funniest podcasts I've ever listened to. And as a podcast host myself, I understand Dan's frustration when Elliot and Stuart (and sometimes Hallie!!!) JUST WON'T GET TO THE NEXT SEGMENT. Keep on fighting the power, Dan.
-
Prof.LaskyFunny, light, fascinatingGenuinely funny and insightful commentary.
-
Obsessed with nonsenseThere’s no show I anticipate more fervently than the FlophouseCome for the jokes. Stay for the amazing movie recs and Elliott’s singing. No really.
-
ZorpoGreat!I resisted listening to this podcast for so long because I was a regular listener to HDTGM, and I just didn’t think I could listen to TWO bad movies podcasts. That was dumb. This podcast is great and a find easy listen. Really one of the podcasts I most look forward to each week.
-
big_tiddy_lalaHelped me love movies againThe Flop House has been a weekly listen for me for almost a decade now, and my appreciation for the hosts and the show has only grown since. Dan, Stu and Elliot have great chemistry as just three funny friends talking about bad movies, but also bring their unique tastes and insight into each episode. I’ve discovered a lot of movies and genres from them that I wouldn’t have paid attention to otherwise. Give it a listen!!! PS: The mini eps are always a hit, and I love that they're not actually mini ;)
-
HotdoghedGreat listenLove these guys. I don’t enjoy watching bad movies but quite enjoy the flophouse talking about them. They have been on a roll lately. The Cool as Ice and Cobra live shows made me laugh out loud while walking around outside, like an idiot. If only they would come to Maine!!
