    A Delightful Weekly Listen
Heyyyy Brother, love the podcast, it always helps me get through the work day each week, and it’s so much fun to hear theories get crafted on show that appear as videos later. Question for yall, how do you think the creation of a horcrux would interact, with another horcrux. If someone were to kill another person with a horcrux, would it still count as murder, would it still split the soul?

    A SIRIUS POD AND POSIT
I’ve been a huge fan of SuperCarlin Brothers for years so when they announced they were doing a chapter by chapter podcast I was ecstatic. I look forward to episode drops every Sunday and it’s so great to go deep into the weeds of these books we know and love with these guys. I got the opportunity to see them on tour in NYC last summer and I highly recommend it to anyone who has the chance. QUESTION: Do you guys agree with my theory that the knife Sirius used to attack the Fat Lady on Halloween night in Prisoner of Azkaban HAD to be the magical pen knife that (supposedly) “breaks through any door”. Sirius’s attack against the Fat Lady out of sheer anger has always bothered me and seems out of character. Dumbledore even cites it as his MAIN example when he later tells Harry and Hermione that “Sirius has not acted as an innocent man”. Instead, I believe that the damage to the Fat Lady occurred while Sirius was trying to use his Pen Knife to try and break into Gryffindor Tower. As a former Gryffindor AND a Marauder, Sirius would have a relationship with the Fat Lady and attacking the Fat Lady with anger as his sole motivation/justification just bothers me. Heck, it bothers Dumbledore too. So I’m wondering if the experts (YOU guys) agree that Sirius was trying to use the pen knife and whether that helps explain and justify his actions. Thanks for all you do and all the joy you bring Harry Potter fans. Keep bringing it you guys are so great. Best, Jared

    Amazing podcast
This is the best book podcast out there. The way Jonathan and Ben connect the dots makes so much sense and they pay attention to every little detail. They way their brains seem to connect like they are passing information between each other make the show all the better. I have a question. What if Tom Riddle, instead of making the diary a Horcrux, made the Basilisk a Horcrux? Love you guys and keep up the amazing work.

    Amazing!!!
Heyyyyy brother! I love your podcast so much. It gives me something to look forward to and I listen constantly. I love when you go on long tangent and unveil theories I have never thought of before. My question is what do you think of the “Draco is a werewolf” theory.

    Voldemort sleeps with a nightlight
Hey brother! I have been cruising through this podcast and you have me convinced. Hogwarts is indeed a dragon. I absolutely love the way you two explore the unspoken rules of magic. Scrimgeour reflect on the challenge that emerges when both sides have access to magic. As one progresses through the series, the reader eventually sees many magical resolutions as mundane or common place, just as Harry does. I feel it is the unspoken rules, per Dumbledore, “magic at its most impenetrable” which we the readers will forever see as “true” magic. I think that’s why I keep rereading the books and why I’m so grateful for you two inviting us all to share in your exploration. My question about these unspoken rules emerged when you two hypothesized that Dumbledore may have an Animagus form of a Phoenix. While Dumbledore has the elder wand and is an incredibly powerful wizard, I don't know any other cases where a wizard has been able to take on the form of a magical creature. Even if he could, would this be similar to a Bogart Basilisk type of situation where they would not gain all of the properties of a Phoenix? Does someone who can take on the Animagus form of a Unicorn have the means to prevent their own death?

    5 Stars!!!! Definitely deserves them
Hey Brother! Love this podcast! I’m not one to listen to podcasts often, but this is an exception! Listening to them talk about Harry Potter is enriching and entertaining! I love listening to them drop little Harry Potter nuggets and their own theories and stuff. It just adds to the awesomeness of it! It feels off script to me and that is some of my favorite listening! Love this, definitely deserves 5 stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I realised something fun between your channel name and my real name, it's the same initials. Super Carlin Brothers. SCB. SCB are my initials. 😁ྀི thought that was cute

Sunset was at 9:48p in Scotland on 5/30/25
Hey brother(s)! Genuinely love this podcast and look forward to it each week. That said, Northern Europe is light outside much later than the mid Atlantic in the US due to the tilt of the Earth in spring/summer months. A quick google search netted that sunset in late May in Scotland occurs near 10p - so totally sensical it would be light out between 8:30 and 9p in the story. Just a minor thing, but I felt the need to point it out since it bothered ya’ll enough to discuss in some depth.

    Super important Question
Hey Brother!!! I absolutely love the pod cast! My question today is a little different they what you usually do on the show.I am a teacher to 7th and 8th grade students and next year I will be teaching a four week course on Harry Potter! My question to you two is, if you were to teach a class on Harry Potter what would you need to include in your syllabus? Thank you for responding and please keep in mind there is a good chance whatever your answer is will be added to the course next year.

    Best podcast of all time
Hey brother love your podcast. I have a question is it possible that lavender brown didn’t die because in the books all it says is that she crumples after Feiner grayback bites her so is she a werewolf or more like bill

    Chess!
Avid watcher. I watch the video version and I guess I always assumed it was a wizard’s chess board behind J, but no it is the same set sitting in my living room! It’s an Asian-inspired board with the pieces inside the board which folds into a briefcase. Surprisingly heavy!

    Best harry potter podcast
If anyone hasn’t heard of their super Carlin brothers then they must be living under a rock. They are the absolute best source of information for the series. Didn’t know I needed this podcast till I heard about it on the YouTube Channel. 10/10

Hey brother! Absolutely loving the deep dives into every tiny detail found in the books. Super great to listen to while crafting and cleaning! Have you ever considered what would have happened if Cassius Warrington had been chosen instead of Cedric by the Goblet?

Theory on the eye seeing through the cloak
Hey guys, love the show just a theory. What if the truth is that no one can see through the cloak but instead Harry’s mind is being read through legilimency. That would explain how Mad Eye (Barty Jr) knows that Harry is there and can read his mind to see don’t giving him the socks. We know that Dumbledore is an expert in legilimency and identified Harry during chamber of secrets in Hagrid’s shack.

    Double map x time turner??
Hey Brother! I love this podcast so much, it has totally filled the time for me whenever I’m driving long hours to work or doing household chores. It really made me fall in love with the Harry Potter series all over again. My question comes in Prisoner of Azkaban. Why doesn’t Hermione show up on the Marauders Map twice when she is using her time turner? Wouldn’t Lupin notice them being in two places at once within the same timeline when he’s looking at it before he goes to the Shrieking Shack? This one has stumped me. Thank you!

What If: there were 7 houses in Hogwarts?
Hey Brothers! Absolutely love the show. I’ve read the HP books about a dozen times (in English and Spanish) but am constantly amazed at the amount of lore and theory-crafting you two still uncover in these books. Love the podcast and everything it does for this fandom! Here is my question/what if: I always found it a bit limiting that there were only 4 houses in Hogwarts (I know it’s due to the 4 founders), but “7” is such a critically important magical number that I wonder what the houses would be like if there were 7 founders? With Bravery, Ambition, Loyalty, and Intelligence being the four main driving characteristics of the existing houses, what would the additional 3 characteristics be if there were a total of 7 founders? Bonus: what would the names of these founders be? Love to hear your thoughts!

How Dumbledore would answer HP about breathing underwater. (2nd task)
“My dear boy, you know I cannot assist you with the tasks. But I will say this, there is more to magic than a wand. Take herbology as for instance. Doesn’t your friend Neville have some expertise in that subject? Good night Harry!”

    Malfoy?
Hey brothers! I’ve been listening to your show since you first started this podcast. I so look forward to each weeks new episode My question is not as much a question but a theory I read. We are always complaining about the horrible plot hole of moody being able to see through the cloak. Here’s a theory. The eye was made with dumbledores wand, which as we know is the elder wand. That is what makes the cloak detectable to him with it being another hallow.

    Resorted?
Heeey Brotherrrr!!! Loving the podcast! It’s been such a bonding opportunity to listen with my son! We’ve got a question! Do you think the sorting hat would resort someone if they asked? With so many people throughout the books sharing attributes of multiple houses, do you think anyone ever feels like they should be in a different house?

    Chocolate Frog Card Spies?
Heyyyyy Brother! My favorite podcast ever. What if Dumbledore uses all of his chocolate frog cards as a network of spies to keep tabs on all things in the wizarding world? It would support the way he is always one step ahead and in the know of everything. There’s a line on OotP where Bill makes a comment about Dumbledore not worried about the Wizengamot doing anything except “removing him from the chocolate frog cards.” Let me know what yall think it could mean for Dumbledore’s Big Plan!

    Dumbledore and the Cloak
Love the show and I am trying to catch up. I have a theory on how Dumbledore is able to “see” Harry under the invisibility cloak. In Chapter 1 of GOF Voldemort is able to read Frank’s thoughts while not looking in his eyes. This is despite Voldemort being in an incredibly weakened state. I think Dumbledore is likely using legilimency to detect Harry’s presence. A powerful wizard like Dumbledore surely can passively notice when undefended thoughts are present that otherwise shouldn’t be there. This would lead him to more actively detect it to be Harry which we see as him staring straight at him.

    Hey Brother!
Hey brother! I love your podcast and main channel! I have been watching for about five years or more, I used to be obsessed with the Pixar theory and Disney videos. I am coming to see you live on the Midwest tour! I was wondering, what would happen if Harry didn’t forget about Lupin, and instead lived with him? Beside the bond of blood, like what if he lived with lupin most of the summer and stayed with him for the breaks?

    Love your Show!
Hey Brother! Love your podcast, been binging it ever since you started Prisoner. Quick question: what if James didn’t die by Voldemort’s attack? We know that it was Lily‘s sacrificial love that protects Harry, so would James be James relevant to that premise? Would Harry’s Petronas still be a stag? Would Harry still need to go to the Dursley’s? Thoughts? Anyways, love your podcast, keep it up!

    Scheme: Negative Comments
Hey Brotherrrrr!!! Love the show every week. I was listening to the latest episode (book 4 chapter 24), and thinking about your comment regarding Rita Skeeter, Hermione and negative viewer comments. Personally I think it would be hilarious if you created a fake user account to leave a negative comment (bad but nothing insensitive), and made a whole video series that only podcast listeners would be in on the joke about. Just a thought! Keep it up!

    One more murder
Hey brother, long time listener big time fan of the shows. Just had to write in after hearing about this “one more murder” ordeal at the beginning of GOF again. I’m pretty sure they are talking about Frank Bryce. It’s the only murder voldy does by the end of the book and I’m pretty sure he uses that murder for the nagini horocrux, that’s why he would need “one more murder” before facing Harry Potter. Let me know what you guys think and if we can finally put this to rest. Love the show! Thanks

    Fighting off the Imperious Curse
Hey brother! I love this podcast and it is one of the best parts of my week! I was thinking about your theory on strength of character being the deciding factor in fighting off the imperious curse. But in Order of the Phoenix, during Harry’s occlumency lessons with Snape, Snape tells Harry that it takes similar capabilities to perform occlumency as it does to fight off the imperious curse. But as we know, several characters with low quality of character can perform occlumency such as Voldemort, Bellatrix, Malfoy, and Snape. It seems to me that if the death eaters were unable to defend themselves against the imperious curse, it would be used way more by the order during the war. We know that the order is willing to use unforgivable curses because of the conversation between Lupin, Kingsley, and Harry after the Battle of Seven Potters where Lupin and Kingsley discuss the death eaters they may have killed. You guys mentioned that Barty Crouch Jr. was unable to throw off his father’s imperious curse because of his low strength of character. But I think that it is more due to the fact that he was very sick and possibly unconscious when his father smuggled him from Azkaban and placed the imperious curse on him. I think the imperious curse behaves closer to veritaserum where it is more effective if the person is unaware of it being used on them. Every time the imperious curse is used on Harry he is aware of the person casting it on him (Barty Crouch Jr. and Voldemort). I would love to hear your thoughts!

Love the show can’t wait for more
Hey brother ! Love the YouTube and the podcast I binge watch all the videos and episodes. Second rewatch of the podcast now and I was wondering if you guys believe that the resurrection stone would be able to send ghost to the afterlife? It has the power to summon people who already went so would it be reasonable that it could send them on .

    Love the show
Hey brother! I love the show. I’ve been re-listen to the show and got to the boggart lesson and was wondering what if Harry’s boggart had been Voldemort. Would boggart Voldemort been able to kill Harry? If it could, would sacrificial protection been able to protect Harry since it wouldn’t be the real Voldemort?

Is Winky the “One more murder”?
Heyyy brothers! I love the podcast, I watch it every week. I have a question: could Winky have been the “one more murder” that Voldemort and Wormtail were discussing at the beginning of book 4? Maybe her getting fired actually saved her life! I would love to hear your thoughts!

    “Er…”
Hey, brother!!!! The podcast is one of the highlights of my week! Can’t believe we are already in the middle of the middle! I wanted to share that “er” is the British equivalent of “uh”! If you say “er” in a British accent it sounds exactly like “uh”… try it! This isn’t just a Harry Potter thing, it’s all throughout British literature. You will also see “erm” written out, in HP and in other British books, which when spoken with a British accent translates to “um.” 🙃 Just thought you may want to know!

Best way to “reread” the books!
It’s so fun to listen to the Carlin Brothers go page by page and talking about these books as if the characters are real friends we are sharing stories about. I enjoy the longer episodes, since the pacing of the books can be so fast, it’s fun to slow down and chat and laugh about small moments the trio and their friends have. I look forward to every Sunday for a new episode!

    Awesome podcast!
Hey brother! Longtime listener, first time reviewer. Love the show, I love listening to it while drawing or making jewelry. My question is: what if Dudley had been a wizard? I’d love to see what you come up with for a question like this, especially Petunia & Vernon’s reactions.

Amazing Pod Cast!! / Question: How does Hermione find the wizarding stuff in France
Hey Brothers, I first off wanted to tell you how much I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to the show! It gets me through my long shifts at work when I’m driving or just hanging around the station. It makes those 48/96 shifts go quicker! So, a friend of mine recently introduced me to the show and I have been binge watching / listening. I am currently on Chapter 1 - Prisoner of Azkaban. So Hermione states she found some local wizarding stuff in France, how do you suppose she came by this? Her parents are muggles so not like she knows the wizarding spots, I’m just curious what your thoughts on it might be? Is there like a hidden wizard part of town in France like in London? Anyways just curious! Keep up the great work! Nathan

Hey brother, I love the show I listen to it when I go to sleep I have a a question if harry were to see Crookshanks kill worm-tail in rat form would he be able to see thestrals or would he have to know that Wormtail is actually a wizard for it to have counted. Love the show keep making great content!

    Expelliamos
Hey brother! I have really loved listening to your theories and your new podcast Through the Griffin Door, and I have a quick question. This has always bothered me about the Harry Potter series, how does Expelliarmus lead to ownership of the wand? wouldn’t the whole DA then be each other’s wand masters? So if Neville used Expelliarmus on Harry, does that make him the master of his Phoenix wand? I never liked this explanation of how Harry became master of the elder wand. I know you guys had had other theories on it but to this day, the theory that Draco using Expelliarmus or Harry stealing a completely different wand by force, made Harry the master of the elder wand. let me know what you think.

    Love the Cedric death laughs!
Hey Brother! I’ve been listening to your podcast from the moment that you started uploading. I also love especially in Goblet of Fire when you read parts of the story and then somehow relate that to Cedric dying. It’s so funny in fact that I started to do it myself. One point of possible constructive criticism I have for you guys is that you should start uploading the videos of the pod on Spotify. I think that if you have a video version of the pod on more than one platform, you could get a lot more listeners. Thanks for all the hours of laughs and keep doing what you’re doing.

Enough with the "Cedric dying too soon" jokes!
Heyyy Brotherrrr! I LOVE this podcast! It fills me with joy to listen to J and Ben break down each chapter of the book. I look forward to listening to this every Sunday when I get up. The jokes, sidebars, rabbit holes, and all the rest make it a truly delicious podcast. 10/10, would recommend! My question: in book seven, Harry decides to talk to Griphook about getting into Greengotts before he talks to Olivander about the elder wand. What do you think would have happened if he chose to talk to Olivander first? Would they have raced Voldemort to the elder wave? Or would it all play out the same? Can't wait to hear what you think!
  • AlexisJo73
    Best podcast!!!!!
Absolutely love listening to the show. It even helps mitigate some of the Sunday Scaries! Helps to pass the time doing chores and also love enjoying this while on a trail. (I probably look slightly bizarre laughing to myself at all of the jokes while out and about) lol. I have a double whammy question! Why didn’t the sacrifice work for the woman and two children that lived in Gregorovitch's home when Voldemort pursued them? What would happen if Voldemort created another Harry situation with those two children in Deathly Hallows? Thanks!

    Excellent podcast! (Imperious course question)
Hey brother! Love the podcast and have really enjoyed binging every episode over the last 6 months. My question is how do you think the imperious curse actually works? It seems to have a wide use case ranging from “jump on the desk” to “run the ministry of magic in a way that aligns with Voldemort”. Do you think all of these things happen from single commands? Or is the spell caster nudging them in a certain direction?
  • MrMoore92
    Secret keeper answer
Hey brothers! Love the podcast and the YouTube channel. So the reason they choose to have worm tail as secret keeper. We have to star with the 5th book where moody gives Harry the note to see number 12 grimwald place. So we do know that the secret keeper can look like someone else. So Sirius hands ppl a note and tells them that he is secret keeper. Now we look at the 7th book when Hermione tells harry ‘since Dumbledor past we became secret keeper’. So look at an options moldy could have used, if Sirius was secret keeper but moldy could get Ms. Bagshot. To tell him he just needed to get rid of Sirius then she could tell him. But if everyone knows it’s Sirius then that is a distraction. Why else do you think everyone knows that he was secret keeper. Think about it if Lupin was the secret keeper, it would become book 1 Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets.

BIG BIG FANS PLEASE READ ITS IMPORTANT
Have to say love the podcast I follow along with the books and I listen to the books on audible all the time huge fan of the channel huge fan of the podcast. Keep up the amazing work thank you for the wonderful deep dive into the Harry Potter universe, I was just recently listening to the first book And when Harry goes to Diagnalley with Hagrid, Harry mentioned to Hagrid you mean to tell me Voldemort went to Hogwarts and Hagrid says says yes a long long time ago. What if Hagrid just told him yet it was about 50 years ago and then in chamber of secrets Harry remembers that it says to Hermione Hagrid told me that Voldemort was at Hogwarts about 50 years ago. Do you think Hermione would’ve put together that Voldemort must be the one to open the chamber of secrets and put two or two together and put tom riddle together with Voldemort as the same person.
