After Bedtime with Big Little Feelings

Real talk? Modern parenting is a doozy. There’s never been more pressure to be perfect with social media readily at our fingertips - mixed with total isolation and no help. Where the f*ck is that village everyone talks about? Consider After Bedtime your village. Led by Kristin and Deena - founders of the largest online parenting community, Big Little Feelings - After Bedtime is the place you can go at the end of a long hard day to find your “enough”-ness. We’ll laugh, we’ll cry, we’ll maybe pee our pants a little as we unpack things we’re ALL experiencing but too ashamed to talk about: imperfect marriages, miscarriages, managing toddler mania, apologizing to our kids and everything in between. You’ll leave with actionable, realistic tips to make this whole parenting thing smoother - small changes, big impact. In an age where parents need more *real* connection than ever, let’s talk honestly about the hard - and remind ourselves we are not alone, we are not failing. In fact, we’re f*cking crushing it.

Rough start and doesn’t make me want more …
The first few episodes are nooot for me maybe the vibes improve but it is very negative and complaining and soooo much swearing which is fine normally but it’s SO MUCH like more than I hear in comedy podcasts even. Disappointing because I find the Instagram so useful

    Ehh
Kristin please please please stop talking so fast! This podcast isn’t anything great. Kristin speaks over Deena and every guest and it’s beyond annoying. I enjoy following the Instagram page but this podcast doesn’t do anything for me.

    Good advice
I enjoy listening to most of the episodes and always walk away with something to think about in my quest to be the best parent possible. Thanks for providing so much for free!

    WOKE
These content creators started pushing a woke liberal agenda on Instagram. No longer will I be listening to your advice, or suggestions in regards to raising my child.

    BLF has lost its way
It does not help parents to platform pseudoscience from Dr. Amen while giving no context or acknowledgment of the legitimate criticism from a field of medical experts. Big Little Feelings seems to have changed from a parenting resource led by people with authenticity to a vehicle for making its owners rich.

    Love love love
I get so much out of every episode! I love the content of each episode and love how you start every episode! The back and forth dialogue, no matter the topic, is always my favorite part. You all make me laugh so much and I truly feel like a little bestie! You make me feel like a better parent. Thank you for putting yourselves out there and helping all of us on the parenting journey. You help me as a parent but also personally. Can’t wait for the next one!

    So good!
Every week everything just clicks for my brain and gives me so much validation in parenting and life ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    Improved
Love listening now that the F bombs toned down. Dr. Amen was fantastic as a guest. Whitney Port sharing her experience of infertility also powerful. Very relatable.

Look forward to this podcast every week
I have loved listening to this podcast! It is the perfect mix of parenting and humor. It’s real talk and usually find myself laughing while mid-run. This last episode “boost your child’s brain health in 20 minutes” was so insightful for both adults and children. I will definitely be using some of the strategies in my home.

    Platforming the wrong people
I can’t handle the platforming of people like Dr. Amen.

Stop Yelling episode is a must listen!
The March 20 episode of the podcast, titled Stop Yelling, was one of the best parenting podcast episodes I’ve listened to. Often times when I read parenting articles or listen to a parenting podcast, I am left with an overwhelming amount of information that just swirls in my head and I really only gain bits and pieces to put into practice. I loved how this one had very clear, explicit, concrete examples throughout. I came away feeling like I now have a real plan that I can work on!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Thank you!

    Life saver podcast for me!
Love these two women so much! They are both so real, honest, and smart. The podcast is fun, informative, and gets to the root of so many feelings and parent struggles. As a new mom with not many mom friends at all, listening to this podcast has made me feel less lonely and truly equipped me with more information as a new mom. Highly suggest a listen to anyone thinking about trying this podcast out. Thank you thank you for this beautiful podcast and hope it continues for a long long time because these women deserve the best!

Perfect mix of parenting advice and entertainment!
Really loving this podcast and their mix of topics from Bravo and pop culture, to personal stories, parenting advice, and so much more. All with a great sense of humor. The hosts are very relatable and they provide great parenting tips and advice. I’ve already put a few of their tips into practice and seen positive results! Love having this podcast in my rotation every week.

Love love love! And they should add Tyler to the podcast not just as special guest
I’ve never been into podcast I just never found the time to listen to them or couldn’t get really engaged even if I tried with a bunch of different ones… but this one my big little besties this podcast is not a parenting podcast this is selfcare this is something you enjoy and laugh while you have your AirPods and the world surrounding you keeps running. You stop listen to all Tyler’s hilarious comments and just have the best time with the girls! Thank you for opening a safe space to vent to be honest and raw! 💓💓 midori nakasima

    Blah blah blah
I tried but too much intro and nothing talk. Get to the important stuff
  • Jc dc1
    Never heard so many ads
Literally 20 minutes before the first practical piece of advice —- all ads and lead up to ads.
  • Kel A H
    Love it
Love this podcast. Love the advise, the banter, the bravo, love the personal stories. I listen to a lot of parenting podcasts but this one is the most fun because it feels like you're hanging out with your girlfriends. I appreciate their willingness to be vulnerable and share personal stories because I imagine many people can relate to them in so many ways (I can).

    Excessive ads, come on now!
I love these ladies… I follow them on Instagram, purchased their course, and appreciate their work. However, the number and length of ads in this podcast is absolutely ridiculous. I understand that ads are needed to make money… But this is far more than any other podcast that I have ever listened to. I’m out.

Too much Bravo talk, too many adds not enough actual content
I have the BLF course already. I’ve listened to every episode except the last 4 and there’s far too much talk about Bravo, it’s so dull and not everyone watches it so please stop droning on about it. The intro is far too long, I just skip that. Then there are far too many ads and the ads go on FOREVER. I get that you need to monetise the podcast but this is excessive. I don’t believe you endorse the products, the ads are so cringe I have to skip past them and it’s just reading off a script. There’s no need to have this many intrusive ads! Tyler is the most interesting voice on the podcast, and as another commenter said, when Tyler is present the conversation is elevated to something more useful and intellectual. Ultimately there’s not enough useful content to keep me interested and the chat isn’t relatable or interesting. I’ve started listening to Dr Becky and Mr Chazz for more useful advice.

    Rambling
I like the content, but it takes them forever to get to it. 20+ minutes sometimes before we get to the tips and tricks
  • LaurMK1
    Besties talk!
I love this podcast to help with all my parenting questions/concerns as well as my own mental health! They make you wish you were in the room with them talking! I love all of the conversations and how authentic and natural the conversations are between them and Kristen’s husband when he joins! A new favorite podcast that I can’t wait to get all caught up on!
  • Piaia
    Love
I love their instagram and this podcast! Like others, I’m not a Bravo fan (maybe some LIB), but overall it is similar to what they provide on their instagram. I find it amusing that people are on here wanting more, well that’s why they promote their tool guide. The potty one really helped me with my toddler. I love you all and am here every week! PS Tyler is the best cohost!
  • Kaaatlye5
    Where is the Fun?!
I feel as if they got completely bullied out of their original take for this podcast. I wish they could’ve stuck with their true after bedtime theme and brought the fun, relaxed, and off-the-cuff conversations. I can tell they're treading lightly to please people. Be you, ladies!

    Screen time battle
I was really hoping there were more strategies and in depth hep on trying to get your little one off the screen or tv. It’s been a battle here at home and I do blame myself for that because I have moments where I’m alone and I needed Somthing to keep my son busy especially now having twin 5 month girls. We’ve cut it completely off and the moment we think to give him tv time because he’s been doing really well with not throwing tantrums or losing his ish, he goes back to square one: also the phones we can’t have them around him and we have to tel people to not bring their phones out cause then he’s gonna wanna have it and then throw a fit when they have to take it away: so please more information on the topics! I do really love you guys cause you are just real and speak truth. Also I’m in the 5:30am club with y’all 😂🫠🫠😵‍💫😅

    Too much unrelatable content
I love BLF on instagram and have done their toddler course which was excellent. I was hoping their podcast would be more advice-related, but they have entire episodes where all they talk about is BRAVO shows, which is completely unrelatable to me and not what I am looking for in a podcast.
  • Slay0819
    Latest episode
I usually love this podcast, I love how realistic it is about life and motherhood! However, I have been frustrated with the parenting advice episodes. The last couple have been short, and usually it takes two rounds of ads and off topic talk for 15 minutes before any actual content
  • Lemonskweeze
I gave it a second chance
My previous review when this podcast first began was “There were relatable things and moments that made me laugh but overall felt like there was too much language and lots of rambling all over the place” After a couple months, I saw that Emily Oster was on the pod and gave it another chance. I’ve listened to a couple more episodes since then and have to say that there is way less language and F bombs and less rambling about random things. The content is relatable and interesting. I also love when Tyler is on the pod. When he is brought into the picture, it seems like there is more intelligent conversation and he brings an interesting perspective.

Not bad, but too many ads!!
I like the real talk. I get that some find it annoying or contrived, but I don’t mind it as I still think it’s authentic! And the topics have been really good and juicy so far! The ads are way too frequent and intrusive though. I get wanting to monetize… but you already sell courses and have a huge social media following where ads run rampant too. Would really be nice to keep this space lighter on ads… not every 10 min! My suggestion would be the beginning and the end. Add another intermission of ads in the middle, at most! Give more deliberate and intentional heads-up on the ads too so it doesn’t feel like such an abrupt interruption.

    The ADS GOTTA GO
I love these ladies. Love their Instagram and information. Really respect them and like the content. They’re relatable and I don’t mind the cursing! Kristen definitely overpowers the show and I am always wondering like what credentials she has? What is a “parenting expert?” I’m not doubting she has credentials, I’m just curious as to what they are. But the real point is the ads. SOMEONE FROM THE TEAM READ THE ROOM. I have 18 minutes to and from work everyday to listen. It is abrhally infuriating to listen to 3-4 minutes ads every 10 minutes and no offense Deena but hers are unbearable. It’s so fake like she’s gushing over the product and you know she’s just reading a script. It’s embarrassing. Does anyone buy from the ads?! Serious question.

    Excessive Bad Language
I was actually really excited to listen to their show when I found out they had a Podcast as well but the foul language is out of control. The F word seemed to be used every other sentence and got quite annoying. I was also pretty disturbed on the episode talking about possible divorce and how at times they saw it as comical. Divorce is not something to laugh at. Not a show I recommend to other women and mothers.
  • Ana48C$
    Needs improvement
The episodes lack substance. The intro takes forever, and it feels like the hosts are just venting. There are too many ads, and they are way too long. Emily Oster's episode was a total disappointment. The hosts spoke for a while before the guest speaker even arrived, and then they kept saying how much they loved what Emily was doing. Well, if you love it so much, let Emily speak then!
  • kejt44
Probably shouldn’t be repeating anything Emily oster
I love the Instagram content and wanted to give this podcast a try but then they started quoting Emily Oster who makes claims as if she has the background/education to be able to- she’s not a medical professional, she’s not an infectious disease expert, etc and her books are full of misinformation and she’s extremely problematic. I’m immediately out..
  • vickyn215
    Emily Oster
Would’ve liked to hear more from the expert guest than the hosts who already have many solo episodes to share their own thoughts and perspectives. Seemed like she kept getting cut off and the convo was taken over.
  • jewelhohman
    Fun, authentic, and helpful
Kristin and Deena are so fun to listen to! They offer helpful advice with real life examples, and they help you relax and stop putting so much pressure on yourself. They have backgrounds in marriage and family therapy as well as maternal childhood education, so you know you’re learning from trusted sources as well!
  • C_Dar
    Love it!
I’m in the throes of postpartum and up so much of the night with my newborn. The nights can be so lonely. I save this podcast for those late nights. It makes me laugh and I look forward to it each week!

Feels like I’m legit talking to my bestie!
Momma of a 6,5, and 4 year old and when I get up early or have some time after the kiddos go to bed, this podcast is my jam! They keep it real, are so fun, remind me of my bestie, and give amazing advice. Thank you ladies - keep these coming!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻✨
  • PlinyforJoanna
    Too many ads
Love their Instagram, but there are just too many ads on this.
  • great relaxation!
    eh
how was Deena saying she is on the verge of divorce (at the beginning of the podcast launch) and then a few episodes later she’s talking about having more kids? I feel like she was doing it to be relatable to get listeners, which if it was authentic would have been really vulnerable to be sharing that…. however she also slammed her husband pretty hard. If I was him I would definitely be signing on that line after hearing that podcast episode! Cringey. Im glad her marriage is better but it just seems icky
  • SBABHH
    Giggling about pain and trauma?
Very strange episode on the Endo update. Poor Deena is in so much pain and the whole episode was a giggle fest, even when they were referencing childhood trauma. Please stop laughing about serious things. I like their insta page but the podcast falls short, not everyone is meant to be podcast hosts.
  • KAC114
    Mostly ads
    Too many ads.

    Super fun podcast
Mom of 18 month old and huge fan of this incredible podcast. These two together are 🔥awesome parenting advice mixed in with many laughs and I’m here for it!

    Wanted to love them
I absolutely love following the BLF instagram page. I thought their podcast would be great. Unfortunately, it’s not. Dena barely gets a word it. Kristen overpowers the entire thing and talks over the guests. The Emily Oster episode was so hard to listen to. Kristen didn’t let her speak. I also feel like they are trying SO HARD to be relatable. They need to just chill. Their best episode was the Andy episode because they didn’t overrule him.
  • Cat roo
    Trying too hard
I really like following them on instagram and believe in their content they post. This podcast has some good info but I find them hard to listen to, unfortunately. It sounds like they’re trying so hard to be fun and relatable, and they’re coming off annoying. If they toned it down a little I would listen because I enjoy their content and topics they discuss, but until then I’m going to pass.
  • Kouks1
    Disappointing
Doesn’t feel very genuine, and too many ads. Sounds redundant as well.
