Parenting #120

Because I Said So! is a podcast by John Rosemond. John is the nation’s leading parenting expert and provides common-sense advice for raising your children. John is a nationally syndicated columnist, author and public speaker. His audiences are left feeling empowered, educated and entertained.A family psychologist by license, John points out to all his audiences that “psychology has caused more problems than it has solved for American parents.” John’s mission is to be a counter-weight to the psychological parenting paradigm that was sold to America in the late 1960s/early 1970s, restore commonsense to the raising of children, and give parents the guidance needed to raise happy, well-mannered children who will, as adults, contribute value to culture and society.

Wish he would make podcasts more often
I like listening to John Rosemond. Although I don’t agree with absolutely everything, I like the way he just lays it out. He is funny and I really enjoy listening to him. I wish he would air podcasts more often.

    Love this podcast!
This podcast (and the books and radio show and videos) from John Rosemond have helped me so so much. It has helped me stay on track with how to raise my kids and has encouraged me to keep doing what I know is right by following God and training/disciplining/leading my children the way He has instructed in the Bible. After listening to the podcast I often feel encouraged to keep going. I have told friends of mine (who are mothers of toddlers and babies) about the podcast and books so that when they run into issues they know a good safe place to turn. Thank you so much John Rosemond for all you do. I hope God richly rewards you for all you have done to help Christian parents raise our kids in a God honoring way. My toddler even talks about John Rosemond because I’ve mentioned his name enough times.

Wish I’d have had this resource 27 years ago

    Please pray
Having had experiences with psychology both professionally and personally I without any doubt know Jesus can not be replaced by a drug or “therapy”. Freud or Kinsey are not replacements for the triune God or a two thousand year old religion. I believe you have some wisdom and that overmedication of our youth is not the best path. I do however, know that the spiritual fight we find ourselves in is quite terrible. Sometimes people are forced into heartbreaking situations. Please be gentle with your criticisms of those that don’t find easy paths through this mess.

    Truth in a Broken Society
John speaks child rearing truth in an era where majority of parents are raising self-focused and entitled kids. Sadly, it isn’t the kids fault! John shows us again and again, how we parents have the responsibility to raise well adjusted, emotionally resilient, contributing members to society. He also focuses on the “big picture” of how the new parenting phenomenon is ruining our culture. There is hope. Thank you for your wisdom, and I pray this podcast reaches many.

More on Parenting, Less on Politics Please
I love John’s common sense “old school” approach and have been following him for years even before having my own kids. When this pod got rebooted, I was really excited but it’s been a bit of a letdown so far. Even though I am in agreement with a lot of what John says in regards to politics and psychology, a re-focus on practical, everyday tips/strategies for parents is what I (for what it’s worth) am looking for from a pod like this. This could even be focused on tips/strategies for encounters with school officials and/or counselors/therapists/psychologists if we ever come across them in regards to our children. Again, love John, but that’s what I would personally like to see more of!

    Truth empowers me!
Thank you, Mr. Rosemond, for speaking common sense in our clown world. You’re the only “parenting” advice I seek outside of my own circle of family and friends, and as I have a pre-teen who is all too quickly approaching teen years, I will be a loyal follower for many years to come!

    Great Truth
John takes a common sense approach to parenting and gives parents the tools to raise responsible young adults. His truths helped us tremendously raise our boys. Thank you John for reintroducing what parents have done for generations to raise healthy children.

Much needed simplicity in restoring authority to the parent
I so appreciate Dr. John Rosemond’s straightforward, uncomplicated approach to parenting. His desire is clearly to see peace restored in the family, along with the God given authority of the parents.
