    Pressure canning
I am not a novice canner and this episode says things are an absolute. Not true. I have never had potatoes boil ‘for hours’. The directions were incomplete and hurried. Either explain all or none. Don’t say not to do something unless you explain why not. Seriously lacking content. Audio is bad

    Love
I love this podcast. They are both experts and offer trusted advice. I love that I can listen in and not worry about politics or anything else, just take in good useful information.

Amazing resource for all home food preservers
I have learned so much from this show. Every episode I listen to teaches me something new. I’m so happy to have found a place that shares up to date safe food preservation practices and also teaches me how to find the information for myself. 100% feeling empowered.

    A perfect combo!!
This is just what I needed. I am a brand new canner and for me the more information I have the better. I already had Jenny Gomes canning book and in combination with the podcast, I feel extremely confident!! Update!! Anna brings so much to the table, she is an inspiration to preserve safely and she is a very sweet person!! Thank you both for taking the time to make this podcast, your listeners appreciate it! The podcast I was looking for!
I’m so grateful to have discovered this podcast. I love the safety guidelines and also the ideas for more items to can. Enjoying this very much! I love learning more of this lost art!

    Invaluable resource!
Anna and Jenny make preserving, but specifically canning, so approachable and sensible. They break everything down to basics and aren’t dismissive of any questions. Short episodes are easy to listen to and easy to re-listen to! I’ve binged them all, as I come across a topic I want to research. Thank you, ladies!

    It’s too short!
I love this podcast but my only complaint is that it’s too short! Have some chit chat at the beginning. Tell us what you’ve been preserving. The people want more 🙂
  • TGTrapper
    Fun and educational
I learned canning and preserving from mom. My wife and I have been gardening and canning for years. I’ve only gotten through a few episodes and have already learned a TON! If becoming a bit more self sufficient this podcast is a winner.

    Inspiring yet practical!
Love this show! It’s very practical with lots of great tips to help you develop your food preservation skills, but at the same time inspiring! It makes you wanna get up and can something! I’ve learned SO much about canning and feel more confident that I can do it in a safe way. I’ve canned three different things in the past month now and want to do more. Thanks so much for all the great info and straightforwardness. Our world is filled with so much drama, not necessarily good, and it’s great to listen to a meaningful and practical podcast that can improve my life in a real way and help me use my creativity in the kitchen!

    Learning About Weck Jars!
I just finished listening to Anna and Jenny discuss Weck jars, made in Germany. All new to me, but I can’t wait to try them! I love the idea of not buying new canning lids every new season-an increasingly expensive necessity with mason jars. And the jars look beautiful- so many options. Thank you for sharing your experiences and for all the tips. I’ll be buying a few this year!

Anna and Jenny are the best!
I’ve taken Anna’s online and in person classes. She is so knowledgable and so nice! This podcast helps answer the questions I didn’t even know I had! Listen to the Charcuterie episode, it’s great for ideas. Thanks Anna and Jenny!

    Learned something new
I have been wanting to learn more about Weck jars for safe food storage and today’s episode answered my questions. It was nice to hear a review on Weck jars from two Master Food Preservers. I will definitely try using Weck jars this summer in my home canning. Thanks for the info and tips!

    Amazing as Always!
I love how concise they are with information. Not to mention they always present ideas and projects I’ve never even thought of and I have so many new projects on my to do list thanks to this podcast! Both gals are master preservers, so they really focus on safe preserving practices, which I am so thankful for!

I just listened to Episode 13, and I learned so much. It is so incredibly insightful and informative. I didn’t realize how quickly botulism can start growing if you can food incorrectly. Thank you for sharing such important information in such a fun and approachable manner! — @karenskindredspirit

Canning, preserving done right with bite sized episodes
Have followed along the 10 episodes so far and the new botulism episode was great! I’ve made so many mistakes but thankfully gotten away with it before, but I want to learn the right and safest way going forward. It’s just not worth taking chances. Love the details and more importantly the reasons why you should do things the proper way with tried and true, TESTED recipes. Shows sound great. Quick to listen. Hosts play well off each other. Highly recommend.

    Great Educators
I am new to canning. This summer I learned to water bath can. Anna was so helpful answering my questions as I taught myself. This podcast has given me answers to questions I didn’t know I had as well as the confidence to try new things. I never miss an episode.

    Old canner but new tricks!
I canned more than 35 years ago and stepped away. Kids and life. A great friend peaked my interest again snd I jumped in, cannonball style. This podcast is beginning to teach all of us what you REALLY need, might LIKE to have, and how it WORKS. The science behind the how and why. It’s just a fledgling podcast but I’m enjoying it so far. Also, if you have any questions you can reach out and they’ll help you with an answer. The CORRECT answer. Update! The information on Clear Jel was so helpful. I was checking out your canned apple pie filling recipes and was wondering what it was and how it worked.

    Great Listen!
Such a good mix of the facts, real life examples, with a side of humor. I wasn’t going to can this fall but after two episodes I’m off to find a blackberry patch for some jam!
