Found what I’ve been looking for!
The commentary, the insight, the laughs and references all in the strange darling episode sealed the deal for me. This is such a fun listen bcuz I don’t get to chat movies with a lot of people, and this is just what I’ve needed after seeing a movie and I need to hear some quality feedback on!

    Contradictions Aplenty
Been listening for almost a year, and it’s an okay podcast, fun if not always well informed. I come across a lot of contradictions from various episodes. This week the hosts were stressing the need to stay informed of rotten people working in the industry, then make the decision of whether or not to watch/support the project/movie they’re involved with. Basically, can you separate the art from the (nasty) artist? Zero kept saying we shouldn’t be too eager to get our pitchforks out and completely ban projects. Yet he says he can’t understand anyone watching Jeepers Creepers (clearly his major exception) bc that’s “the scene of a crime.” But it wasn’t, it was an earlier movie, Clownhouse where Victor Salva committed his crimes. And he did his time. The first two Jeepers Creepers movies are excellent genre films. And I still listen to Michael Jackson too. The hosts kept also saying “people make mistakes,” but clearly to them some are beyond redemption. Truth be told, if I banned every artist because of their personal failures as human beings and/or character flaws, I wouldn’t be able to enjoy ANY artists period. I like how they said it’s important to stay informed and keep talking about these things since it can help stop them from happening so much. That said, I felt kinda shamed at times for my viewing habits, and the episode often felt like a butt hurt extravaganza/cheesy gossip.
