Nickname thing is prohibitiveLoved it, except for Episode 3Everyone talking about how great it was that Mr. Rogers preached by example, without talking about God. Yes! But the episode is full of people talking about God. And not in a “Here’s what I think” way, but in a “Here’s how it is” way, which was a total turn off for me, and just proved the point of how wise Fred was to not do that.

OtterSpace55We all need thisSuch an interesting podcast that tells a story, but challenges the listener to evaluate their own feelings, thoughts and positions in todays world.

Jet Screamer0769More Relevant Than Ever…I’m listening to this in 2023 after learning about it on Kelly Corrigan Wonders (another PHENOMENAL podcast). I’m struck that this was released in 2019…before COVID 19…and by just how much importance the message of empathy, kindness, and connectedness has taken on in these four years of increasing polarization. We need Fred now more than ever. A great listen. Thank you!

KF in TampaEXCELLENTWhat a gem of a podcast. Was recommended by a friend and I couldn’t get enough. Excellent job of putting together a podcast that honors and let’s us know so much more about this truly unique, special man. Fantastic guests.

mspassell889534 stars!!!!Yep, the Beth episode made me cry again, even after all these listens. I never liked Mister Rogers as a kid but I need his message of love and acceptance now as an adult. This podcast was a beautiful exploration of that.

harveyfam4Love this but the ads…This podcast is something special but the ads are poorly placed and too many.
-
DeidraMcOToo many and poorly placed adsThis is the first review I’ve ever written about a podcast. The actual podcast seems good so far but the ads interrupting the sentences are obnoxious. It’s clear that additional ads were put in after production just to make more money and no care or thought was put in to how they would affect the listener.

slovenlyshebearGreat show ruined by ad breaksI listened to this podcast a couple years ago and LOVED it. I just restarted it, excited to listen again, and the ads completely ruined it. Way too many ads, and really horribly placed. I was recommending this show to people but no more. Bummer.

K@m!18Too many adsI get that you want to be paid for your work but you have so many ads in this podcast that it’s hard to stick with it and want to listen. You are losing people interest by having so many ads. I just had 15 seconds of content after two minutes of ads to then get another 2 minutes of ads. If this was a written article you wouldn’t put ads every other paragraph and break up your writing. It’s too much.

kelly0895DisappointingNot only is half the episode commercials which shows the purpose behind this podcast, but there is a social agenda and has little to do with Mr. Rogers himself. What a shame, this had a good potential.

stewzky2Almost as much ad time as ContentI want to like this podcast. But it was almost triple the amount of ads than any podcast i have ever listen to. I could not get into a flow of listening because the content was so frequently interrupted.

LantneyLOVED the podcast, HATED the interruptionsI’m really loving this podcast, as I grew up watching Mr. Rogers but didn’t know about all the magic behind his messages. The podcast is so inspiring and thoughtful and entertaining, and I find myself so moved by so many of the stories in the show. However, I just don’t think I’ll be able to listen to another I Heart Podcast production, as the commercial breaks are atrocious! In each episode, they break in MID SENTENCE to run commercials, and then literally 2-3 minutes later, the episode breaks for more commercials. In episode 3, they broke in the middle of Mr. Rogers explaining how he felt when his dog died. In episode 4, they broke in the middle of a parent explaining her child was in a coma. And then they ran really raucous concert promotion ads (among others) until the point when the mood was completely killed before the podcast resumed. I listen to podcasts all the time, and I’ve never experienced such horrible interruptions. I love this podcast and will continue, but literally am incensed every time they break into the program mid-sentence for their commercial breaks. So unprofessional.

DJethroHave you ever cried while making pea soup?I consider myself a podcast connoisseur. I listen while I cook and clean. I am 25 years old, so I am far too young to have experienced Mr. Rogers’s influence directly. However, I took a risk listening to this, because I knew that it would make me look at myself. I struggle so hard to find the words to convince you to listen to this podcast. Do you remember the last time you gave thought to your fellow person? Your neighbor? An old friend you haven’t thought about in a long time? How often you you miss the trees for the forest? Have you considered the impact of Fred Rogers? Do you ever wonder what we may be missing in the world? In my opinion, we are missing the viewpoint of Fred Rogers. We are missing the importance of his message. This podcast is not only a great way to connect with the child that you have long, long forgotten. This podcast is also a way to see the world through the eyes of a child. This podcast is a way to see the United States throughout the 1960’s-1990’s. It’s a way to see how metaphors become reality. I write this from the viewpoint of someone who grew up seeing nothing but conflict and hate. I write this as someone who wants to see a difference in the world. I write this as someone who wants to see love instead of hate. I write this to implore you to listen to an episode or two.

iceskater344The adsThe podcast itself is good but my god the ad placement is so terrible that it’s difficult to listen to. They interrupt mid sentence and then not 30s later another ad interrupts.

KaliapadThis filled my heartThank you for this podcast. It opened me back up to that beautiful message I got as a child watching this show. We are surrounded all the time by so much pain and it’s hard not to feel hopeless. The idea that we can practice some version of Fred Rogers’s kindness - and meet this world with an open and curious heart-this is affirming and powerful. The world needs more good neighbors- and I’m inspired by his example 🌷
