mmmondayyyThe podcast I didn’t know I neededI work in digital marketing and for years I felt like I was screaming into the void about what I observed in marketing post-Industrial Revolution (specifically marketing toward women). Rachael’s podcast not only makes me feel like I’m not crazy and feels like a history geek BFF, she also teaches me things I never knew and does it with passion and humor. Anyone who wants to do business better and with greater awareness should listen, but I’d argue that any consumer who wants to be aware of the ways we’ve normalized manipulation in marketing should listen as well. Walking away from this podcast, you’ll feel righteously angry, entertained, enlightened, and motivated to be more conscious and intentional with your spending and marketing. Ditch your true crime podcast and dive into the horror show that is capitalism… so you can avoid its all-too-common pitfalls with humor and information you were never supposed to know.

macidcThe most important biz podcast to listen to right nowRKA pulls no punches as she examines modern marketing tactics, consumer culture, and upends mainstream gurus. Both a seer and a scribe, her professional experience and extremely well researched content reveals the ugly truth of capitalism, and the dangers of conducting “business-as-usual.” To prevent leaving her listeners feeling bleak and defeated, Rachael brings her unique brand of levity to even the darkest episodes. If you’re bored with the typical biz podcasts recycling the same old ideas, this is the podcast you need. RKA sheds light on real issues and acts as a catalyst for change. Add it to your favorites and your queue today!

Mallory W.Dropping truth bombs like it’s hot.RKA is naming names and shining a light on some of the most insidious aspects of marketing and modern-day online entrepreneurship. But more than that, she’s tracing these modern problems back to their roots, drawing connections and showing us how we got here. She’s as funny & charming as she is astute & intelligent. Tim FrieProfound and invigorating thoughts and perspectiveI have listened to each episode of this podcast twice because there is so many compelling ideas, astute observations, and stimulating perspectives in each episode. Each episode is an insider exposé into the dark reality and sneaky strategies of online marketing, business and the toxic strain of capitalism that has swept across America. RKA’s passion comes through loudly in each episode. Despite the magnitude of the topics she discusses, each episode is fun, empowering and educational.

d1234@#$Nothing Else Like ItNobody does it like RKA but I wish they did. We need more people making it this dang fun to unlearn capitalism. This podcast is a must for everyone but ESPECIALLY for those in the marketing industry. Following in the subversive footsteps of Scooby-Doo and the gang, RKA rips the masks off our modern monsters to reveal the entirely human predators hiding underneath, somehow managing to keep us laughing along the way. Pure genius.

worthfullchristineWhat needs to be said but with humorI really appreciate RKA’s willingness to expose what’s not working in online marketing today, even though it spins me into existential career crises haha. She’s helping uncover solutions and shining the light on what we collectively need to change.

Kimberly RushFINALLY TRANSPARENCYFinally someone who tells it like it is. We desperately need this transparency. If you are in the coaching or personal development industry, this is a MUST. This is the wake up call that we all need. Rachael is breaking down the smoke and mirrors so that we can see past the perfectly curated illusions.

SmashingPump79Rachael’s Back and Better Than EVERRR!I stumbled upon Rachael Kay Alber’s blog some years ago and then fell into a YouTube hole watching all of her hilarious (and truth-filled) Awkward Marketing series. While the online marketing world presents packaged princesses and business bros, Rachael keeps it real and keeps you laughing as you cry your way through this world we call online marketing. Burn out is inevitable if you chase success the way that it is presented to us—all surface and through endless courses that may or may not deliver but definitely won’t be THE answer. Rachael is onto the next big idea in running an online business (having values. REAL values driving your business, not chasing the next thing someone with shiny hair and a big floppy hat or a Lamborghini tells you to run after). EVERYONE in the marketing and communications arena should be listening to Marketing Muckraking!

theSarawithanHMust listen to!Rachael brings her signature humor to the table while also bringing to light the morally questionable and ethically duplicitous practices so prevalent in modern marketing, business, and advertising.

FrankenwendyLooking for answers? This podcast is for youBecause RKA will help you to ask better questions, and be ok with not having answers for some of them. Be prepared to have your mind cracked open (in a good way) as you listen to Rachael muckrake all kinds of topics from capitalism and marketing to boss babes and politics. The truth can’t hide while RKA is on the planet. So it doesn’t matter if you are the She.E.O of your own company (iykyk) or someone who’s working for the man, come one and all and gather ‘round as we listen to Rachael dive deep from her Home Office Palace. Her courage will rub off on you (trust me!)

AZSunshineA Fresh Voice…..Finally!It is so invigorating to find content that breaks the mold and leaves formulas behind. When I read the part about having more questions than answers, I heaved a sigh of relief. “Me too, me too!” Remember back when we could question the status quo and aim to have productive dialogues about how we might make things even better? Rachael does exactly that. She does it with candor, humor, and the kind of curiosity that leads to great new ideas. I’ll be staying tuned to see what hilarity and brilliance will ensue.

DdorfBachstrMaking business fun for sure!Rachael is unmatched. She combines humor, cleverness and super creativity in all she does. Smart, funny and unafraid to say out loud what we are all thinking. That is a brave move. She risks it all to tell us the side of marketing and branding that we don’t want to admit!
