Extremely fun show and an absolute great change of pace from the GCP’s longer campaign. 10/10 will listen again!

GCN always produces funny content, but this is the funniest show they’ve made. Fantastic.

Love the Glass Cannon guys! Troy, I wonder how it feels to have predicted Dak Prescott would break his leg in the 2020 season in episode 7 of SQSS!

I want to give a 5 star review, but knowing Troy is one to every pursue quality and wants the best audio experience, I have to say I had to stop mid episode a few times because I could hear the sounds of slurping, which is just so stomach turning.

The Glass Cannon crew does it again! Enjoy this gloriously nerdy romp through the fantasy world of Golarion.

Investing my hay in GCN stock has been the best move I’ve made since SQSS’s conception. Whether it’s Androids & Aliens, Raiders of the Lost Continent, Legacy of the Ancients, Joe’s short lived Echo Quest, or their flagship Giantslayer campaign, these guys just get it and put out consistent content that I love. Seriously so so so so so good!

2020 has been hard, and as creative companies which rely on in person chemistry struggled to adapt to the novel context, the crew at the GCP managed to deliver the single greatest piece of content of the year. Part time capsule, part fever dream; this episode winds beautifully with effortless pacing through the collective experience of four people living through an unprecedented pandemic and into an equally unbelievable journey. This episode should be held up as a stand alone masterpiece separate from any other glass cannon shenanigans.

The pandemic has made it hard to get together with friends to play RPGs and have some fun. Enter the GCN and this show, a tour of different game systems sustained by the heart these guys and gals put into it.

Hard to minimize how amazing the work of these guys is. I've been with them since they hatched their hare-brained scheme to create high quality actual play-podcasts with their brand of humor that matches perfectly with mine. Whether it's random Boston-related jokes by Troy, Skid or Matthew dropping 80's comedy references (Naked Gun, Airplane, Clue, Spaceballs), or Joe and Grant losing their marbles over occurences...They've just creating some amazingly deep story together in the truest sense of pen and paper RPGs. I would play with these guys anytime.

The Glass Cannon Podcast went on a side quest for Quarantine. What was originally created as a short time fill in with irreverent and wild characters became an amazing story that we were all sad to see end at the end of 2020. The best thing to happen in the bad situation of 2020. Some of my favorite characters these guys have created have come from this show.

Even the Glass Cannon Network's impromptu quarantine podcast is phenomenal. It's a blast listening to the crew play through some of Pathfinder's most interesting scenarios with a great cast of fun characters.

Such a great group of people having fun, telling great stories and adhering to roll of the dice! No on is safe and everyone is entertaining!!!

These guys are awesome and have a ton of great shows. This series in particular really captures what it feels like to be at an rpg table with a bunch of your best friends as an adult. Highly recommend!

A fun and goofy romp with the Pathfidner 1e RPG system. A fantastic example for players new in old on both humor and drama.

Love GCP and this side quest they run is so fun!

A temporary replacement for their regular programming, SQSS became a beloved addition to the Glass Cannon family.

Very fun show. Definitely a huge highlight in the days of the shutdowns.

This was started when they couldn’t play together because of the pandemic. It was only supposed to be a short jaunt down a different story...that turned into most of a year. If you’re reading this and this is your first experience with this group, buckle up. You are in for a wild ride. Also, check out their other two shows!

I want to thank the GCP for giving us all something to look forward to during quarantine. I look forward to a time when I can see you all live again! Side quest is brilliant, give it a listen!

Is there anything this group of players ***can’t*** do??? A “filler game” is populated by Skid, Matt, Grant, Joe (and special guests) with more beloved characters. And Troy?....well, you know, would we ever expect Troy *not* to try and kill all our RPG loves?

Inbred Hillbilly: “A bushel of hay, you say?! Why, you could buy a nice little plot of land just outside Ravenmoor to breed stirges. Thems good eatin’!” Me: “...yes, but do you have any PEOPLE FOOD? You know what? Nevermind. What can I get for a 5 star review of the spookiest adventure paths GCP has ever undertaken coupled with the silliest roleplaying ever attempted by Mr. Skid Maher?” Inbred Hillbilly: “I reckon you’d increase their rankings on iTunes, but if you want any of these scrrrrrrumptious fried stirge legs, you gotta pay. That’ll be 5 pieces of hay.” Me: [Pick up hay from the ground.] “Here.” Inbred Hillbilly: “Thank’ee kindly! Don’t forget to review us on Yelp! That’s what we call the old stump near the barn. Just climb on up and start hollerin’.”

The Glass Canon does an excellent job of balancing impactful stories with humor. The side quest sessions build on the absurd side. More ridiculous characters, more jokes. It’s lots of fun!

Soooo glad to see that SQSS got its own feed!

Stars Matthew Capodicasa and Skid Maher bring forward exceptional performances to the competent GMing styles of Troy Lavalle. Also, features the min/maxing stylized play of Grant Berger. Awesome role playing, imagination and vocal work by all. Joe O’Brien is also on this podcast, but the strength of the other players and the GM covers for his boisterous lack of skill.

A darker yet at the same time hilarious shorter run of adventures, this show is a great place for old fans and new listeners alike who want that TTRPG actual play goodness. Never heard of the Glass Cannon Network? Well this isn’t a bad place to start since the adventures are more manageable as a time investment. They do have a different tone, but in a lot of ways the lessened investment allowed for more humorous characters and situations. Like what you hear? Don’t hesitate then to check out their flagship, The Glass Cannon Podcast, or other shows such as Androids and Aliens. You won’t regret it. All-time favorite podcasters here, they have spoiled me with amazing content.

I love everything out out by the GCN guys! SQSS is no different! I love the characters and the way these guys are able to craft a story that makes you feel like you are right there, part of the action.

The Glass Cannon Podcast has a history of producing fantastic, quality content. What started as a temporary fix during the pandemic has grown into its own show with just as great of an experience. While Side Quest Side Sesh takes on a much more humorous tone than other GCP shows, it still hits hard with a compelling story, gripping combat, and the guys we have all come to love. In my estimation, there has never been a more beneficial podcast to listen to, aside from a main quest. If only these people had another podcast that really dig deep into one story. Another fantastically gripping and hilarious podcast from the Glass Cannon Network. Everything these guys do is worth checking out.

This crew puts out the highest quality content IMO and this new show is no different. The fact that they buckled down and put out this new content in the middle of a global pandemic while INCREASING the quality of the show really speaks to the hard work and love the entire crew brings to the table.

These boys never fail to make me laugh, this is a great show to get to know them and their content. If you do like this they have a bunch of other pathfinder content. The GCP giantslayer podcast is absolutely a 10/10 so if you like this give that a look

This is a fun series of smaller adventure paths born because of the pandemic. It’s not a comedy podcast, it’s serious, but Skid refused to take it seriously (at first) and he will single-handedly have you in stitches. Unless you are a hillbilly and you have no sense of humour. I highly recommend.

Leave it to the GCP crew to create some of their best characters as part of a quickly pulled together replacement show during the pandemic. Don’t let that concept put you off, though - these are great adventures that never go where you expect! Looking forward to it’s return!

I know, everyone thinks that their podcast of choice is amazing, and I know, there are a ton of real-play podcasts that are of high quality. However, let me tell you about the Glass Cannon Network and why they truly are cream-of-the-crop material. 1) The audio quality tends to be above average. So many pod’s that I’ve tried to get into have feedback, echoing voices, people constantly overrunning each other, delays, or other sound issues that just make an exceptional story a mediocre experience. Troy and the team have done a lot of work to keep this from happening. 2) Story. The people that the Network brings in are not there to go from encounter to encounter and roll some dice; they are there to tell a story through the experiences and tribulations of the character. 3) Fidelity to the rules of the game. The GM’s do not generally “fudge” rules or rolls to sway the story one way or another. Death is a very real possibility. Sometimes the characters or the GM have a spat of horrible luck. The episodes that have showcased this in the past have become some of the most exemplary instances of storytelling I’ve heard on any podcast. 4) It’s just fun. The players and the GM enjoy their role and are witty enough to come up with funny quips, heartbreaking moments, and moving performances. Highly recommend this pod and the other Glass Cannon shows.

Been listening to the main Glass Cannon Podcast feed for years now (which I also obviously highly recommend), and Side Quest Side Sesh is just as fun. Great characters, and very funny players.
