I read one book by joe mull after seeing him speak at a nextech conference in 2020. I did not realize there was a podcast. So I’m catching up. I enjoy listening in the morning before going to work as it puts me in a good mindset for the day. Thanks for sharing experiences and advise.

I manage a team of 10 and find this podcast incredibly helpful. I recently shared the intel from episode 52 with my fellow managers so we could start implementing some of the tactics on work life balance. I also took the 3 questions from episode 53 and used them in a team huddle, and my fellow managers did as well with their teams, and it felt so good to do this with my team. The content from Joe and Alyssa is great and very relatable! For people new to the boss role it is great tips and for anyone who has been for awhile they are great reminders so we don’t get stuck in a rut! In a retail setting we use the camaraderie question daily for a week to help different shifts and areas of the store get to know their peers! It is something they look forward to in our daily huddles!

I am loving this podcast! Every week Joe and Alyssa bring up a new and relevant topic. Even better - they provide advice to help solve these workplace problems we all face! And the advice they give is realistic - based not just on their personal experiences but on social science and research. There are so many great nuggets of information every week. I love the podcast! They are a great team who take everyday issues and teach Managers how to implement effective solutions.

Working in HR for about 6 years and seeing good bosses and bad, I see firsthand what happens when people are promoted to leadership positions. It’s sink or swim, sadly, and too often new bosses aren’t provided the resources they need. The first episode accurately depicts the 3 types of bosses in the workplace. I’ve worked for all three types and an otherwise great organization can go bad without wonderful bosses in place. This series should be required listening for all current and new bosses out there! As Joe is on a mission to create more boss heroes, as a current HR professional, I’m on a mission to make sure my friends and colleagues tune in to hear the great content provided.
