Regardless whether or not you identify socially with any of these descriptors, if you are capable of empathy, you need to listen to this. She has done the work for you. All you need to do is listen. Yo, it’s free, honestly it’s the least you can do. That and maybe leave a review. At minimum, you will have abated some white guilt

I appreciate this podcast so much. It offers me understanding about people that aren’t in my everyday life, but are vibrant, and unapologetically themselves. Even in discussions related to topics that are difficult if not outright harmful to the Trans Community, Imara and her guests are open and informative resulting in a better understanding of how policy impacts Trans People and how I can act in support of the Trans Community.

As the father of trans and nonbinary kids I’m fortunate to have such an amazing source of news and information to help me be a better dad and ally to the trans community. It’s a scary time right now and we are lucky to have her.

This show is exceptional in all ways. Imara never ceases to impress and inspire awe. Many thanks to her and to her guests, who enlighten and inspire on each episode.

It's hard to put into words how important this podcast is. I've been listening to this show from the beginning, and I have learned a lot over the last five years. This show has helped me to better understand my students, my sibling, and myself. Imara is a great host, very insightful and thoughtful, and the guests always bring such unique perspectives. Some episodes are full of joy and bright visions of the future, and some are heavier, detailing the oppression and hate that is unfortunately happening in this country. But all the episodes have helped to expand my understanding of the world. Shows like this one are great for helping cis people better understand their trans and nonbinary neighbors, and for creating a place where trans people are centered. This podast helped me realize that only a gender-expansive world can ensure freedom for all.

I’m so interested in the content of this podcast, seems to be really well researched and it’s such a breath of fresh air to hear trans news from a trans person. Unfortunately the sound quality makes it really hard to hear what’s being said!

The interview with Chase Strangio was fantastic and I look forward to more episodes. It’s important to be well equipped with knowledge about the political context and times we are living through as trans people, while uplifting each others voices and trans joy. This podcast is a great way to do all of that.

Project 2025 calls for the extermination of trans people, so your existence is an act of resistance and I deeply thank you. But as the mother of my trans son and a very politically active Democrat, I’m very disappointed in the Harris campaign and DNC for missing a huge opportunity to stand for trans rights. While Trump and MAGA spent 100s of millions on anti-trans ads, the DNC chose to hide from trans issues with “an all lives matter” approach. Instead they should have used that national platform to highlight trans youth. There are brave articulate kids speaking out for their rights in Red legislatures. These kids should have been given a national platform at the DNC, at rallies, on ads, and I truly believe they would have won over the hearts and minds of most American people. I’m not saying this would have changed the outcome if the election. But it could have protected Trans rights and trans lives. Thank you for your fight.

As a genderqueer,transmasculine gentleman whose questioning his identity words cannot describe how many times I’ve heard Imara sweet voice from being fat and trans and more. I would like to see more black masculine trans joy on the podcast. Please and thank you. Keep up the good work Imara.

I lost my parents and my community due to awaking my true identity which continues to be nurtured through this amazing body of talented, bright, inspiring, beautiful people. This podcast is so wonderful and makes it easier to breath each day. While they cover deep topics, the fact that there is a space that is being supported and fought for where folks that are still surviving the gender journey can share their stories and thoughts is so empowering. Each podcast is another example of someone like me that is trying their best and succeeding- dare I say thriving in joy at least most days. Thank you for existing and showing baby trans/gender nonconforming folk that there is space for us in this world.

As a trans non-binary person who’s still sorting out coming out and new to learning about trans history, topics, and the nuances around it all, I am so thankful for Imara’s dedication and work! I also love learning about other trans authors, artists, musicians, etc., and resources here so I can continue learning from a variety of sources. Absolutely essential listening!❤️

The podcast is amazing and informative and the reviews prove it. Not only are they filled with positive reviews showcasing the quality of the podcast, but also review bombed by anti-trans bigots who haven’t listened to a second. “Poor grammar & poor quality”? Tell me you’ve never listened with out telling me you’ve never listened. “Misleading” and then proceeds to provide misinformation with no sources. And let’s say that the number of trans people being killed is the same as women: there are 90% less trans people in the world than women. If that statement is accurate, then it IS true there is unprecedented trans violence. They are specifically being targeted despite being a small population. And how to even address the reviews that are just conservatives crying about how trans people existing hurts their feelings? Last I checked no one really asked, nor does it engage with the conversation being had. You’re JUST looking for attention because you’re all very, very sad people.

This is how you make money decrying oneself a victim. There’s no unprecedented violence against trans people.

Thank You Imara and TransLash team for educating and uplifting all people through your vulnerable stories and well-researched episodes. I see there are some trolls in the reviews and that just highlights the importance of telling and sharing trans stories. To the trolls: take a look in the mirror and do some feel self-examination of why you are compelled to troll trans people.

It’s been a while since I had time to listen, way too long. The greatest thing about these podcasts is that I can literally feel it nourishing my soul. I love listening to all the different stories and experiences told by trans women, all who have come before me and blazed trails. Imara has such an easy way about her, nothing feels forced she gives everyone enough space to tell their story, to tell their truth. I also love hearing about trans women from the southern US because that’s where I live. We have different challenges in the south that I feel like the younger generation from the northeast and west coast just couldn’t imagine. As a newbie to being trans, I’m trying to be a sponge learning all I can, and for anyone this podcast is a great resource. I follow Imara on Twitter and she’s great there as well.
