This show slays

Simply the most balanced Vikings coverage out there. Great mix of guest, in season/off season content, and data based approach. As 43 year old fan who has moved outside MN, this is my daily way of staying connected to the team.

The post game show could use someone paired with MC that brings something different to the table. Dane Mizutani often copies MC’s take, never disagrees with him and is far less interesting. Appreciate the show though.

Matthew does a great job and providing insightful takes. He’s a little too positive for my liking, but it’s my favorite Vikings podcast.

Amazing show. But lately the ad reads have been hard to listen to. The us days by US cellular commercial is the latest example. Your voice sounds so raspy, it’s like finger nails on a chalk board. Maybe try recording them on a different microphone. Thanks for the content as always. Been listening since 2016.

Best Vikings show out there. Objective and numbers driven analysis with humor and snark. Some excellent guests, as well.

Matthew thinks he knows everything there is to know about football and all fans are idiots if they don’t fully agree with him simply because he has a press pass to the vikings practice facility. The level of arrogance is actually crazy

Thankful for the other MN Vikings content around because Coller is about as below average as they come.

Matthew has ESPN’s Courtney Cronin, PFF analysts, current and former football players, Journeyman QB Sage Rosenthals and much more. A must listen for fun, detailed and comprehensive Vikings coverage with a passion.

He’s the best Vikings coverage with wide ranging topics. Nothing boring here. You can tell he works his tail off trying to bring us great content.

It’s “like” a “like” decent podcast. “Like” the hosts are “like” knowledgeable, but “like” speak at a “like” 3rd grade level. Makes it “like” a very hard listen…”like” think, formulate and communicate clearly…

I really enjoy your podcast. But there is one thing that keeps bothering me. Maybe this is my Vikings bias, but you need to stop acting like Jordan love and the Packers have fully arrived. They got hot towards the end of the season, but then, in the biggest moment, Jordan Love threw some terrible interceptions. He might be good, but there is no way you or anyone else knows that yet. To declare that he’s their “franchise QB” is silly. You never pass judgment on Vikings players without a large sample size, so why would you do it for other teams? To me, he looks like he’s about to become another Kirk cousins. Good stats, but they’re gonna have to pay him way too much, and he has wilted when the pressure was on.

They cry to much

Nitpicks: When you have guests on, let them talk! Coller takes 17 minutes to ask a question, gives his own answer to the question, then interrupts the guest 30 seconds into their response. I know the job is to fill air time, but dude... Let people speak! Also, if you're talking about someone specific, it's not "a guy like X" it's just "X". I know all the cool football analysts use that language, but maybe "a guy like" Coller can be the leader here.

Great pod. Would be better if you would stop slurping drinks on mic.

Jeremiah Sirles is a great time! Great job this season Collee. I was skeptical at first but I love the way you cover the team, notably your humor and matter of factness.

Host is thin-skinned and repetitive

This is a great podcast where we can get Vikings honesty with no fluff, and not too many commercials!!

Matthew is super entertaining and it somehow doesn’t get old even with a new show every day. Keep up the great work!

Yup. Matt Coller & Co. provide insightful commentary with humour and solid knowledge & perspective. MC has been my go to source for Vikings information <> good to hear the new show ! - a must for Purple fans living outside of Minnesota. Plus I appreciate Mr. Coller’s “what does the data say” approach.

Everything about Matthew’s pod is great. With his knowledge of the team and straight forward answers. Only thing I don’t like is his constant poking of Vikings fans. Like making fun of them. It’s fine but it’s constant and he seems to have a sense of being better than the fans. And if you basically call him out on Twitter he’ll cry about it and block you. And his on and off co-host Harrison’s laugh is extremely annoying. The guy laughs at every little thing Coller says. So annoying. And last is Coller is so bitter about being let go by Skor North during the pandemic. But guess what, I’m sure if majority of sponsors didn’t drop he would’ve been still employed by them. He won’t even acknowledge them and just say “that other company I forgot their name”. lol. Really dude? Ok. Almost forgot. Coller can really ramble on and on and on. Times I just zone out and have to shut it off. I’ve been listening to him since the beginning and now he just goes on and on.

Dude really used the “Jimmies and Joes” trope and was 100% serious. Extremely embarrassing. Look elsewhere.

Been listening to Coller ever since he joined 1500 in 2016. Works his tail off on daily shows and has always responded when I’ve sent questions into the show. I like the YouTube channel too. I am so glad the show only continues to grow.

Excellent podcast, great content and host. Matthew is extremely knowledgeable about football, building teams and analyzing them.

Collets thoroughness and thoughtfulness when composing takes is really refreshing in a weirdly homerish MN sports market. Always a good listen either level analysis of the team

Coller is my favorite Vikings beat writer. I started following him at his previous gig when my dad died. I’ve enjoyed his stuff for years. He not only has helped me learn the game more but has made me a more enthusiastic Vikings fan. If you’re a Vikings fan, this podcast is a must listen.

Goated podcast

I’ve been suffering with the Vikings since the 1970s, and I’ve seen a lot of coverage. Coller is the best. I don’t get the negativity here at all. The whiners and complainers have no idea what they are talking about. Don’t change a thing! Walleye

Matthew does a great job providing insight on the Minnesota Vikings. He also does a great job interacting with other Vikings fans through his shows.

And it’s not even close. Objective and thoughtful analysis, insightful guests, and a pun or two thrown in for good measure. Listen to this pod if you want to be an informed fan.

Matthew is a top notch Vikings NFL podcaster and writer. Has lots of consistent knowledgeable guests as well, especially fellow NFL sports media gurus Courtney Cronin and Tyler Forness.

One of the things I appreciate about listening to PI is that Matthew is not a blinded, jaded, cynical, ridiculously optimistic Vikings’ fan. Like so many fans are. He is a fan of the sport and does a great job of bringing a realistic unvarnished take on the team that I have followed for 40 years. He has great connections in the football, media and analytics worlds and he does a great job of bringing those views to the public. Matthew uses analytics (as well as his experience and conversations) as a tool to show things that rabid Vike’s fans refuse to see. And he does it both ways: to the blindly optimistic he shows the areas to be realistic. To the hardened cynic, he shows the areas to be realistic. Matthew has never insinuated he knows more than a GM. Although, I have heard many fans claim that. Often it’s the ones calling other people a “condescending know-it-all”.

Purple Insider - a Minnesota Vikings and NFL podcast. It is the finest Internet coverage of the Minnesota Vikings team. Matthew Coller has limitless, energy and the ability to dig deep into every aspect of the Vikings. He has awesome gusts and he also covers a lot of fan input so the show is centric for us the listeners and in-depth about areas that normally don’t get covered. Highly recommend giving The Purple Insider a listen. Give it 5 stars, and subscribe!

This is a great place to get MN Vikings content. I don’t understand the negative reviews. Matt does what someone running a podcast should. It’s all about takes, using some sort of grounds for that take, and discussing it. In the grand scheme, all podcasts are speculative in nature. If it’s not what you’re into, go hide in a hole until the season is over so you can reflect on it. If you’re looking for takes with great guests, fun content, and MN Vikings news. This is the podcast for you. Keep creating content for people like me. Just a guy stationed in GA, looking for Vikings content to consume. Thanks!

Smartest Vikings podcast out there! Deep diving into all aspects of the team in a captivating and entertaining way. Great knowledgeable and plugged in guests from around the NFL. I’ve been listening since day one of PI, and it gets me through my workday year round.

By far the best Vikings podcast that I’ve listend to. Matthew brings in great guests to show and is very engaged with his listeners. The show is informative, funny, and NEVER boring!

This is my favorite Vikings podcast. His content is unbiased, and he takes time to answer a ton of fan questions. He also brings in great guests that make the fans smarter.

Matt is not only refreshing with his perspective but he’s an industry insider with his contacts and guests to his show. I’ve been listening to him for years and not only have complete Vikes knowledge but also league issues and players.

Absurd amount of content even during the off-season helps satisfy my need for Vikings info and gossip!

He is smart, knows football and has a good sense of humor. A pleasure to find this podcast.

I listen to the guys over at SKOR, and Andy over at PFTW as well as the team sponsored ones. But Purple Insider is definitely the one that feels the least hype or click bait driven. Also the most journalistic approach with the best “Real football people” guests. Do what you want, but in me humbles this podcast should be first on your list if you bleed purple.

The best Vikings podcast without anyone close

There are a few guests that just aren’t my favorite. Courtney and her stupid draft scout persona. Got old after five minutes and it’s continued on for years. Human Joker candidate Jonathan Harrison laughing at the least funny things. (Granted we all should have someone in our lives who literally laughs at everything we say.) The rest of the show is awesome. Matthew is great. Give it a listen.
