I have found the run of this podcast to be very enjoyable. I’ve always enjoyed the show. I appreciate the insights by the hosts and like how their impressions of and their likes for the characters have evolved as the seasons have gone on. I listen as I work and lament that the show is coming to an end. I’m not as much of a fan of Night Court, but I will follow along on that ride as well. Both shows were ones i remember watching with my dad

But what happened to episode 33?

Hello ,I’m a huge fan of Barney Miller. Seen all the episodes multiple times & still watch nightly. I just started listening , but I’m already up to episode 21 of the podcast. You guys are doing great , Otto was a great guest ( need more of him & others that were involved with the show on). Also, maybe you can drive into the episode’s with a little more detail. FYI, many of the story lines came from real life daily news stories at the time .

I listened to the first two episodes, and all I heard were two curmudgeonly men who clearly don’t like the show. When I listen to a podcast about a show I like, it’s to hear insights about it. They don’t do that.

I’m nearly 57 years old & during the 70,s & early 80’s I watched Barney Miller every Thursday night @ 8pm on ABC. It was “appointment television “ for me & my father. This was the one TV show that my dad & I regularly watched together. It was “our show” and Now since my dad has passed on for many years now, Barney Miller holds a special place in my heart and memories. Back in 2013 I purchased via Amazon the entire series DVD box set (along with the one season of Fish) I have since watched all the seasons a couple of times. Yes the show is somewhat dated, but it still holds up for the most part. I found your podcast by typing “Barney Miller” into the iTunes Store & I have enjoyed every episode so far. I certainly look forward to all of your upcoming episodes & I thank you for taking the time and energy to produce your wonderful podcast. Thanks again guys & keep the great memories coming! Like the discussion about one of my favorite sitcoms even though these guys offer analysis that is all too often hopelessly “woke” misguided. And, their gratuitous foul language is demeaning and distracting.

Thanks for doing this show and sharing your opinions! Just remember it was a different world 45 years ago. I have to admit BM is a great written show. Thanks for the recap! I watched Night Court show and seen a lot of the actors that were in BM. Maybe that could be your next show! Thanks again!

I loved Mike and Chris' predecessor podcast, The Kolchak Tapes, and had to join in for this new venture. Really enjoying the format on this, and hoping they'll take a side trip to cover the Fish spin off. BTW, Mike--the Beach Bums were the band after the Juicy Fruits!

Mike and Chris unearth Barney Miller, a 70s situational comedy set at a New York police station. I was a fan of their earlier podcast on Kolchak The Night Stalker, their humor and insight on 70s TV is always welcome.

Begs the question- will Mike and Chris cover the show Fish?
