    Do they like anything?
New to houseplants and wanted to find a podcast that would be helpful. I’ve skipped around to different episodes for the plants I’m most interested in and all they do is talk about how much they hate them. They don’t even really give advice.

Are you guys still there? :(
I absolutely love love LOVE this podcast. I wish you guys would make more content :(

    When will there be more!?
I love this podcast! As a new plant dad I’m ambitious and have already acquired many plants which include many of the advice from these episodes. I really hope that there is more to come from the Plant Daddy podcast to keep us newbies up to date on happy horticulture. (Not to mention the awesome commentary from Matthew and Stephen).

    All-time favorite
I’ve been listening to this podcast for two years now and it has ALWAYS been my favorite. I thought moving away from Seattle would hinder my love for this podcast, but it’s been like a piece of home in every episode! Great plant banter, thorough research, and quality content every week - definitely recommend.

    Informative, In-depth, & Entertaining
These two fellas add experience and comprehensive care information for specific plants, adding their fun personalities to make it entertaining. Many episodes dive deep into each plant, incredibly useful for me, a newbie to the hobby. They are very involved in the social aspects of plant care, and are passionate and enthusiastic about plants.

I adore this show! Matthew and Stephen are delightful. I can honestly say this show has made my home a peaceful and tropical sanctuary. With honest care guides that give accurate descriptions, I am able to pick plants that I know will fit my care habits.

    Love it
I have been a listener since 2020 and am always happy on Monday to see the iconic Monsterra leaf icon come up in my library. Each show is well planned, thoughtful, and always brings a little humor as well. I’ve learned so much from the Plant Daddies and am very grateful!
  • Blackbyrde
    Arguably the best plant podcast
I think this may be my favorite podcast. Matthew and Stephen always have great information and first-hand experience to share, in a low-key, positive tone with just that perfect touch of gentle snark that makes it fun to listen.
  • amcreviewsit
    Thanks guys!
You make my drives delivering and picking up plants for my little plant business so much better. :). Enjoy the show so much!

    More plants please!
I’m an amateur indoor plant hobbyist and I wish I had found this podcast sooner. Stephen and Matthew are so knowledgeable and their plant journeys are so relatable. I love hearing about their plant triumphs and getting those tips from their trial and error too. I’ve starting mixing my potting soils like they talk about and might even brave a calathea again (although I’m so glad to know I’m not the only one who struggled with this plant). My only complaint is I would love plant daddy podcast mercy and maybe even some live shows!

    Tell me more Daddy
I just started listening to Plant Daddy podcast about two months ago and I’m hooked! I love how the hosts do a deep dive on specific plants. It’s very informative. I’ve had questions about some specific plants and the episodes have answered my questions. This podcast is becoming my “go-to” before purchasing another plant for my collection (so I can make sure I have the correction conditions to help the plant thrive). It’s also cute how the hosts play off each other and sometimes tease one another, in a kind-hearted way. Last thing, I think it’s very cool how they don’t just focus on rare plants but instead cover a wide range of plants and topics.
  • HugoDugo23
    Just Ok
I really wanted some information on how to help a particular plant of mine. Instead, I listened to an hour of them bashing that particular plant and not giving any really helpful advice.

    Love the show
I have really enjoyed listening to the Plant Daddies. They bring a lot of knowledge and expertise to the hobby. I have also been able to get a lot of one on one feedback to questions I sent them on Instagram which is amazing. I cant wait for season 3. Keep it up guys it is much appreciated

    I can’t get enough
I listen to a lot of plant podcasts. A lot. But this one is my favorite. It’s refreshing to have two different opinions on houseplants. And as a researcher and nerd, I am blown away by not only their knowledge but how well researched the information is. You’ve got a fan for life here in Chicago.

    Simply Obssessed
Matthew and Steven are simply the best. Educational for both advanced and beginner plant parents. They go into great detail about place care tips/tricks and always break down the language so even beginners can keep up and learn from. I’ve been listen for just over a month and since tuning built up my confidence to expand my collection outside of the simply pothos/snake and spider plants. Thank you both so much. Keep doing what you’re doing.
  • MacDawg113
    Fun and Educational
Love this podcast. I found it after hearing them talk on the Bloom and Grow podcast. The episodes are always fun and educational, plus I love how they switch up the topics and do in depth info on specific plants!

    Loving this podcast!
I Stumbled across this podcast after acquiring some plants I knew nothing about. Luckily for me these guys made whole episodes about said plants! And my new babies are doing wonderfully. After that I was addicted to the insight and knowledge of this podcast. I highly recommend even if your new to plants like I was.
  • reesagold
    Thank you!
Both of you are absolutely delightful to listen to! Informative and funny. You certainly compliment each other.

    Binged every episode
I absolutely love this show. I find the deep dives very informative and I love the chill and chat episodes. I have been introduced and wishlisted plants I never knew I wanted (saracenia and sundews!). I love their voices and audio quality. I love the guests (esp Miles) and that their friendship shows through. I would love a little blog post on the website with some of the cliff notes. Example- last night I was repotting some succulents and cacti and couldn’t remember what they said. Went to the episode to relisten, but would have been awesome to have that bit up on the accompanying blog! Def give a listen if you love houseplants!

    50-50
Nice banter, sometimes helpful when it is a deep dive on one topic. More often than not I can’t follow all the Latin names without pictures when they are discussing a lot of plants in one episode. Show notes with the names written out or more photos on the blog to follow along would really help, or record for YouTube and repurpose as a podcast like some podcasts do. I still listen hoping to pick up a tidbit here and there ...

    Sanity and connection
This podcast made me feel more normal. It’s friendly and informative, and gives me a sense of community (imagined, mostly). I’m 70 year old who has had plants and gardened informally most of my adult life without the time to truly indulge. Since Covid forced me to close my store and has kept me inside, my plants and pets are my only company (kids live far away). I’ve become so obsessed with my houseplants, I’ve actually thought something is wrong with me, but it’s reassuring to know that so many young people have the same connection. I’ve always talked to my plants. Now I don’t feels so weird. Thank you for the entertainment, humanity and company!
  • Hrefna
    Soothing and Informative
I’ve turned to learning about houseplants as a way to get through this winter of pandemic and political crises. I’ve found the Plant Daddies to be excellent company when I’m down to my last frayed nerve. They are well informed and interesting talking about plants, and their voices are pleasant to listen to. The episodes teaching about specific plants have been especially good for me, my plants are already looking much better!
  • easkaldi9
    My new favorite
Binging this podcast got me thru a hard time. I’ve learned a lot and am excited about new plants I either didn’t know about or wasn’t interested in before. Especially love the plant profiles for this reason! Thank you!

this pod brought my inner plant lover back
I used to work at a greenhouse for two years as a side gig and become completely obsessed with growing, collecting and thinking about all things plants every chance I could. Since covid, I’ve really lost my drive and interest in this topic without my awareness, it just slipped away. Finding this podcast brought that care giving and growth inducing feeling that I’ve been missing back into my focus. I now look at my plants with that nurturing aspect I thought was gone forever. Matthew and Stephen provide so much information and honesty that is careful crafted in their delivery on this podcast. For plant lovers, for those who want to learn, for those who enjoy hearing people talk about their passions, or for those who need to be freshly watered - this podcast is for you! 💚
  • WestTexasJungle
    Definitely recommend!
This podcast is both entertaining and educational! So glad I found it!

    Good
I like the podcast, but they keep cursing, but not like every other sentence. Otherwise good.
  • Pretentious cat
    my favorite!
Had to choose a podcast to dissect for school and I chose this one!! Love it!!!
  • AgressiveScritches
    Informative and chill
I love the educational content and the mild banter. The show has personality but it is packed with useful knowledge. The aroid substrate episode was exactly what I needed. I also find the succulent and carnivorous episodes helpful, because I raise begrudgingly them for my boyfriend. Also, it’s just nice to listen to something so peaceful during this time.
  • RT_McFly
Exactly what I was looking for
Really helpful. Good level of knowledge and able to communicate concepts well. Clearly highly professional hobbyests with a depth of knowledge. And they outsource knowledge gaps to brilliant guests.
  • Keeowee Key
    Fun, informative
Stephen and Matthew are convival, entertaining, and most important for a podcast on growing plants, a wealth of information. You will not be disappointed.
  • jpzang
    Top Notch..or node???!!
Great resource for houseplant education but also very entertaining. Love the perspective to collecting that each daddy brings and the audio chemistry that transpires.

    I just mounted my orchid
😉 I was so inspired halfway through episode 3 I collected some material and immediately mounted my old Trader Joe’s orchid. Maybe it will finally bloom for me. Great podcast and I think you both are knowledgeable and amusing in equal parts.
  • Shanonymousatx
    So much wholesome plant edutainment
I no longer use apple podcasts, but Spotify won’t let me rate and review so here goes! These boys are so knowledgable and relatable. With their different house plant preferences (carnivorous vs Tropicals), I feel like it’s a great spread of content that is applicable for any houseplant lover. This has become my other go-to planty podcast (in addition to On the Ledge). Thanks for making this, and SO glad you’re back from your break :) you were indeed missed.
  • TabbiQ92
Just started listening and I love it!
Found this podcast while looking for care tips for a Monstera Adansonii I just acquired. Thanks to PlantDaddies I’ve impulsively bought two new plants and I’m so excited for them to arrive!
  • Vectors4Prez
    Charming and wonderful
This is my cheer-up podcast. The hosts are delightful and their conversation is casual, informative, and fun to listen to. It’s like sitting around geeking out about plants with friends, and listening to this makes me low-key wish they were my neighbors.
  • ACY215
    Like a conversation with friends
I love listening to these guys the conversations are casual and informative. And I think it’s cool that they are honest about disliking certain plants because let’s be real we all have plants that we don’t like (cough alocasia cough). I suggest they ask billy porter to do their introduction for season two “serving intersectional plant real ness”
  • cupcakej929
    Favorite House Plant Pod
So this is saying a lot, but this is my absolute favorite podcast about houseplants (and I listen to several). Matthew and Stephen are not only extremely entertaining and informative, but also “real life,” talking about different scenarios that would actually exist in someone’s home, as well as their mistakes and how they corrected them (their IG account is awesome as well)! Please keep the episodes coming! I am a fan!
  • fossilsmoon
    5 stars
This is an amazingly informative and funny podcast. Both hosts are very charismatic in different ways. A great aspect of this pod is that the two hosts have very different plant preferences so you get two well educated perspectives in one. I’m so glad this pod exists, there are so few good plant podcasts out there!!! Definitely don’t sleep on this one
  • Daisy Mae Mae Gurl
    Good Chives Only
Great podcast and I love the different perspectives from the hosts. The differing opinions help me learn about plants I normally wouldn’t be interested in. Thanks guys! 🙏
  • Alysssaafooo
    So fun! But...
Please work on mastering the volume. Sometimes you guys laugh into the mic and it’s ear piercing and other parts you can’t hear at all. Other than that. Fantastic.
