Life With Althaar

48

An epic science-fiction sitcom for your ears about an unlikely human/alien friendship in the unluckiest place in Human space. It is the mid-26th Century. John B, a humble repairman and ”former human” (having lost his legal status as such), has left the Earth for mysterious reasons. He is perhaps the unluckiest being in Human space. He has wound up at the Human Exchange Concourse, or the ”HEC,” once the site of Humanity’s First Galactic Fair. It was the biggest flop in Human history. ”The Fairgrounds” is perhaps the unluckiest place in Human space. You don’t go there, you end up there.John’s luck seems to have changed when he gets a good apartment at an amazingly reasonable price only to find his roommate is Althaar, an Iltorian, who is determined to befriend a Human. (Iltorians are the kindest, nicest species in all known space, and natural diplomats, beloved by almost all, but their slightest presence causes Humans to instinctively respond with panic, fear, disgust, nausea, and loss of bodily functions). Can a Human and Iltorian live together without one of them driving the other crazy?

Out of the 100s of podcasts I’ve listened too….
… only this podcast and one other get a 5star+ rating from. So 1 of 2. If you like a whimsical story with depth, this is the podcast for you. Inside the storyline, you’ll find provoking questions that will hook you as the whimsy makes you laugh.

    So much heart!
This show has so much heart and so much clever creativity in every episode. The world feels alive and vast and deep and always leaves you smiling. I hope they manage to finish it and hope all is well with Gemini CollisionWorks. They’ve made a real gem.

A Cozy, Science Fiction, High Quality Sitcom
Love the concepts of the dystopian future within the rich world building, the sound design is out of this world for the first scene opening had three different characters speaking and most of them were in the background. Love the depth and quality each episode storyline brings and I respect how much content there is. Really hope you get more traction online, because you guys are amazing.

Great world building, sound design, acting and writing.
It’s super sweet, really funny and takes you on a roller coaster of actually caring about everyone in the show. I didn’t know what to expect- but then binged it. 😅😅

    Can’t recommend highly enough
I’m blown away by the quality of this audio drama. The dedication and hard work of the team putting it together and performing it really shines. The first episode was quirky and interesting, but by the 4th episode I was hooked. Give it a try for some feel-good listening!

    Give it a Listen!
This podcast is wonderful! I honestly don’t know how it hasn’t gotten more hype! The production value is really excellent, even better than many popular, better-known podcasts. John’s journey as a human-reclassified-robot in the new and at times frightening Trade Center and his experiences with his grotesque, yet kind-hearted roommate Althaar make for a story that is both lighthearted and intriguing! I highly recommend it for all those fans of audio-dramas out there. So give it a listen, and I hope you enjoy!

    I love this podcast
I hardly ever write reviews, but this one needs more. This is such a well done podcast. The curve was a little high on the first episode with so much happening and explained but I’ve listened to the whole show three times and I’m still catching running gags. The EOS10 comparisons are apt.

    Entertaining!
Cute sitcom-style audio drama! Friends meets Alf meets EOS 10. Looking forward to hearing more.
