    Superlative
Mike. Half man, half amazing. His voice awakens souls. He is the reason I am. From this podcast I gained perspective of all things, everything, from beginning to end. I am Mike, we are Mike. He is in us as we are in him. He cured me of my future vices before they happen, he makes Legos not hurt my feet. He is the maple syrup to my goose. He. Is. Mike. I

    Great podcast -SO much info
I came across Mike during Wild Wonder Nature Journal conference and the Nature Journal FB group. Great work!. I think he mentioned Etchr sketchbooks and then I went down a rabbit hole! Somewhere I saw Podcasts!!! That’s all I do all day is listen to Podcasts. These podcasts are very enjoyable and a wealth of information. I am learning so much. Quality produced. I think you need to do a “Wallet alert” when talking supplies hahahahaha, I will keep listening and catch up on past shows. Oh and thanks to Mike I am now subscribed to Etchr studio classes, I never would have found without Mike! Thank you!

Fantastic podcast! (says a working artist)
I came across this podcast recently - episode #73 specifically - after getting into digital sculpting on the iPad. The breadth of questions the host asks, his enthusiasm, and the overall quality make this my new favorite art-oriented podcast. Reading that the host is self taught is probably what helps this podcast be so engaging - he has the enthusiasm of the amateur combined with the maturity needed to both listen and ask engaging questions. The message I get from episode #73, ‘learn the basics and then embrace change’, is exactly what has kept me in business as a freelance illustrator/animator for 40+ years and the best advice for anyone at any age. Looking forward to exploring more episodes.

Wonderful podcast and one of the best!
One of the best podcasts about drawing and art. Mike is currently not a professional artist; he is in the trenches with the rest of us trying to figure it all out. He has interviewed some great artists but he also discusses his journey through art. I find since he is still in the learning/developing phases of his art “career” that I can relate to many of the topics and experiences he has. Mike is always encouraging and his suggestions at the end of many of the podcasts always strike a cord with me. Ultimately he comes across as one of “us” a developing artist. This would be the first art podcast I would recommend to anyone interested in art.
  • Growth Never Ends
    Interesting and encouraging
I find that Mike Hensley’s teal-time reveal of his personal discovery, and his interviews investigating the development of notable artists encourages everyones artistic growth. His low key supportive approach is one part Fred Rodgers, one part Bob Ross. No frills and no judgement.
  • love this song from him. CAN i
    Please keep your Podcast going✒️
Love listening while I sketch & I’m passing it on to other sketchers.
