Presenting Hitchcock

48

Gooooood evening. Alfred Hitchcock is long believed to be the Master of Suspense in film circles. His ability to craft engaging tales of espionage, murder, and debauchery - all while entrenched in the plight of the Everyman - have stood the test of time. Each month, Cory and Aaron look at a randomly drawn film of Hitch's and examine what makes it so inherently Hitchcockian. Since beginning the show in 2019, they have discussed every available film in Hitch's catalogue, and are now examining sequels, contemporaries, other Hitchcock media, and his far reaching influence over cinema.

    Enjoyable Hitchcock Critiques
Don’t let the bad Alfred Hitchcock impersonation that Aaron starts each show with keep you from listening to the whole episode. Cory and Aaron are really great at what they do. They talk about the different aspects of each Hitchcock movie, both his silent films and talkies. They do a great job! Highly recommend listening to them.

Good but needs some fact checking
i've listened to 3 episodes and each had some glaring factual errors in them, mostly regarding actors and dates, and even plot points. (ie....Frenzy Episode: identifying Billie Whitelaw as the secretary ... she actually plays wife in the apt that Blaney hides out in. Stage Fright episode: mentioning that Pat Hitchcock was the victim in Strangers on a Train... it's actually Kasey Rogers, etc ) That's a little frustrating to hear. It's Hitchcock ... it's a podcast about his work ... the details matter. Otherwise a fun, diverting podcast.

    Very literal interpretations
I love Hitchcock films and these guys seem like they love Hitchcock films, too. So, maybe a good podcast for a general audience who loves these movies. However, the podcasters talk about the films, sticking mostly to plot and story, and provide very little insight. No interpretation. No talk of technique. No talk of film theory or any other (psychological, feminist, queer, etc) theories that can easily map onto Hitchcock films. Disappointing.

    Enamored with this podcast!
Extremely approachable podcast that gives a fun look at the trivia of the films, the analysis and then a cool ranking system in easily digestible episode lengths. Thanks so much for making this podcast!

    Enjoyable review of Hitchcock films
The podcast is going through each Hitchcock film, providing commentary, and rating them. The talks are informative and engaging, and the process of rewatching each film and comparing my thoughts with their perspective has been great. I don’t always agree but that’s part of the fun.

    My favorite podcast!
I love Hitchcock movies and this is the best podcast discussing the director’s work. I can’t wait for my all time favorite movie, Rear Window. I may even finally call or email in a comment. :)

Highly Knowledgeable Look at One of Greats in Film
This is a must-listen for any fan of Hitchcock. Both hosts are clearly experts in film and the director himself. Their love for the medium is evident in their discussions and this podcast is an easy recommend.

    Wonderful Journey Through Hitch's Filmography
Presenting Hitchcock covers an Alfred Hitchcock film, in random order, each month. The podcasters are knowledgeable and entertaining, and the sound quality is excellent. I've seen many of Hitch's films, but not all. Listening to this podcast is a good incentive to make my way through his filmography.

Cory and Aaron have a good handle on the Master!
Hitchcock is my favorite director, and this is a fun look at his classics, little known and otherwise. Sure I wish it was more frequent, but it's nice to have a podcast I can relax and enjoy. Give it a go!

All About The Auteur Director Hitchock
Aaron and Cory are two accomplished podcasters who have come together to cover Alfred Hitchcock. They both love him as a director and it shows. Each month they draw on of his pictures from a hat (literally) and cover the film. It is exciting to delve into some of his lesser known films with these two. So come along for the ride!
