    Best film podcast. No contest.
This is easily the best film podcast in the game. They are the anti-Big Picture. Keeping the personal to an optimal level and sticking to their thoughtful analyses. Christy and Alonso are so funny and engaging. I look forward to my weekly time with them. And they also have an arsenal of quality guests, too, from Alonso’s husband Dave to Ben Mankiewicz to William Bibbiani. It’s like a weekly meetup with two film friends. I look forward to the episodes every week. Consider making Katie Walsh a permanent host. I always smile when she’s on. Her writing is awesome and her insights are on your level.

    Hypocritical
I enjoyed listening to this podcast until Christy unfairly criticized the movie Nickel Boys. She complained about the POV technique used and then praised the Presence film. Both movies are using the same technique but she yammers on about how Nickel Boys made her head hurt. Just say that you don’t like black stories being told. Be honest. Stop with the excuses. This podcast is trash.

One of my fave movie podcasts
This is a must listen for me. I love Alonso and Christy. Even when they disagree on a movie they are so lovely how they talk about it.

    2 greats together!
Alonso and Christy are my favorite film critics. And so this podcast is absolutely delightful to me: the two of them together taking my favorite topic, movies. If you love movies, you need to listen to this podcast!
  • Visha33

    Nice chemistry too.

I’m Happy I Found this Podcast!
I used to listen to/watch “What the Flick” and I missed you guys! ❤️

    The Single Best Film Podcast
Christy and Alonso are two of the most thoughtful, well-educated, brilliant critics out there. And yet their reviews are so accessible and understandable. I love love love them. They evoke the same feeling as my previous favorite critic, Roger Ebert.

    Thoroughly entertaining!
    Consistently informative and fun podcast.
  • Ledizzler
    Alonso’s lame political statements
Love the pod but don’t need to hear Alonso say “f the presidents”. He never mentions how things could be better but just complains. Miss Matt very much.

    Good Times with Great Friends
In the way we all have those comfort movies that bring us back to that warm place in our lives. This podcast does the very same for me like being with old friends having new conversations. I truly look forward to these episodes every week. Whether it’s the song that plays at the beginning of every episode which either create an earworm for aWeek or gets me to rediscover an old artistTo those clever marquise I truly appreciate the show Thank you for keeping the flick alive

If you liked their old YouTube show What The Flick?! then you’ll love this podcast.

    Marvel Monday’s are so fun!
Been listening for years since What The Flick and have always been a big fan! But I gotta say, Nicholas and Christy hit it out of the park with Marvel Mondays! As much as I am a fan of the trio (or foursome when Ben joins) Nick is the new standout. 💁

    Always fun
I have been listening to this group for probably ten years—since What the Flick?! I’ve kept listening because of their smart banter and lack of pretense. Appreciate you all.

These lovely critics spill delicious tea on movies and tell fun stories and read letters...and they’re fun as fudge to listen to!

Breakfast in bed, all day long
Kudos to y’all for keeping the YouTube show going remotely, helps a lot to see all of your faces discussing movies, tv and news topics. These guys used to be what the flick and they are always a joy to listen to. Keep it up and hang in there!

    My favorite film review podcast
I love Breakfast All Day. When What the Flick was cancelled I was totally bummed. Thank you Christy, Alonso and Matt (and Ben?) for keeping it up! They give a fresh, modern take to film reviews that really feel like 3 friends talking movies without feeling uppity or arrogant. Whether you’re a die hard film aficionado, or a casual watcher, you will enjoy this. Subscribe!

    Help
Why are the most recent podcasts not showing up in the feed here or downloading. I sent you a Tweet, but no one apparently answers your Tweets, so I will ask here. Where are your podcasts? Nothing is here from September.

    Best Film Podcast
Great podcast! I have been following these critics for years and really respect their opinions. Christy is an excellent interviewer with the guest episodes and everyone’s rapport with one other is excellent.

    Better Sound Quality
I’m here because I remember the RT podcast, and would love to listen to your guys’ opinions, which are great, but please fix the quality. The compression and mic placement hurts my ears and makes it unlistenable.

I’m here since they cancelled What the Flick
I’m glad the gang was able to get together in ANY iteration since What the Flick got dropped at TYT... so kudos and thanks!
  • MNWSTL
    Elated!
I was upset when What The Flick ended but Christy, Alonso, Matt and sometimes Ben, kept it alive. Breakfast All Day is great and one of my favorite movie review podcast. Special thanks to Christy for keeping this going in the first place!
  • Daniel8383
    So happy!
I am so happy this exists. I loved "What the Flick" and was so upset when it was cancelled. But they're back, Matt, Christy, Alonso and sometimes Ben are so great together. I love Christie's interviews as well. The interview with Daniel Waters is especially gun and interesting!
  • whymattwhy
    Intelligent film discussion
Christy Lemire, Alonso Duralde, Matt Achity and (sometimes) Ben Mankiewicz we’re all fired from What the Flick on TYT, and they have decided to continue to gift the world with their insight and film (and even TV!) recommendations independently, without a studio full of people backing them up, and really, you should all be grateful.

    An Excellent Podcast
While I was very sad to see “What the Flick?!” cancelled by The Young Turks, I’m more than happy to see the band stay together for Breakfast All Day. Alonso, Ben, Matt, and Christy are some of the best film critics in a business that desperately needs them. All four are smart, witty, and show no fear when going against the popular opinion. I found them on YouTube all the way back in 2011 when Alonso ranted about James Gunn’s “Super” and never looked back. Thanks for keeping the show alive, guys. It fills the void left by Siskel & Ebert.

    The Gangs Is Back
Alonso Matt Christy And Ben If you’re reading I’m very appreciated your time and effort for doing this to your honest Followers like myself you guys are the reason why I have better knowledge and taste on movies through out these years thank you

I never write reviews for podcasts
But I love these people so much. My heart broke when What the Flick ended and this podcast has brought my favorite movie critic commentary back to life. If you love movies and crave thoughtful feedback on them this is the only place to be. They also have a YouTube channel!
  • Kruegs303
If you miss What The Flick...
...This is the place to go! Was sad when What the Flick ended, but this podcast picks up where they left off! Definitely appreciate the fact that Christy, Matt, Alonso and Ben spend their own unpaid time on a much smaller budget (Christy’s dining room) to keep listeners updated with their latest movie reviews! I definitely plan to contribute when they eventually create a Patreon. :)h
  • Bizarro Teddy
    Unpolished
The podcast itself feels unpolished and they are unable to have a discussion on a film without spoilers.
  • imdoboy
    Praise the Lord
I found the what the flick crew

    !!!!!!!
What the Flick?! has been a mainstay in my life for years, and I was devastated when the show was unceremoniously cancelled. I love the move to BFastAllDay, and I hope this means that we’re going to have these four working together for years to come—- MOAR BEN.

    Delicious
Thoughtful, progressive film criticism, with a nice sausage of banter and a maple syrup of warmheartedness. Also check out Linoleum Knife!

    Less is More
With Love and Gratitude for your re-emergence here in Podcastland, Episode 6 just went on and on and on, telling me WAY MORE than I need to know about any of the films discussed! So please stay fresh, and avoid becoming a bunch of bores.

What the Flick Gang is back!
I’m so glad you guys are back. Always great to hear your opinion on movies.
  • straightfromanalistmoviescene
    Great Film Podcast
If you ever watched “What The Flick?!” on YouTube then you’ll love this podcast. The same crew is back to discuss movies and movie news in much more detail then the old YouTube show. As someone who listened to a lot of movie podcast if you finally want people who are movie buffs with different and insightful opinions please listen to this podcast!

    A Welcome Return
So happy to have the “What the Flick” crew back. My only complaint is you can’t see Christy’s humongous water decanter du jour.
  • Moe Brainz
    Loveliest Movie Podcast Around!
Have a seat at the dinner table (or breakfast table if it tickles your fancy) of the much esteemed Christy Lemire, film critic at roberebert.com, joined by the indefatigable Alonso Duralde, film critic at thewrap.com, the ever-funloving Matt Atchity, and (sometimes) TCM's very own Ben Mankiewics and listen to some movie talk! Their analysis of film is indespensible, with pointed criticisms for everything from the art house indie to the shlocky blockbuster, totally germaine (drink) to the podcast format!
  • Calvero82
    My Favorite Critics
I’ve been watching What the Flick since the beginning and was very sad when that ended. Thankfully they are back here in podcast form! My only complaint is there needs to be more Ben. The first thing I do after I watch a movie is see what Christy and the gang had to say about it!
  • jdr_42
    Glad they’re back!
Individually some of the best film critics working today. Put them together and it’s never a disappointment.

  • Badbrad2
I love you all so much.
Do you like movies? I really don’t, and yet even I, someone who watches nothing but super-hero movies LOVES, LOVES, listening to these three (sometimes four) great friends talk about something they love. And I love that, because I love them.
  • mb28464
    Very smart movie discussions

  • Schumata
    Your BEST Movie Companions
Want to laugh, learn, and enhance your movie viewing by 1000%? Listen this podcast! Are you always bummed out because your friends are morons and your post movie discussions are less than stellar and far from edifying? Listen to this podcast!! Before their funding was cut in order to combat humanity’s greatest existential threat, they used to be called “What The Flick!?”. They are all super sharp and witty. Christy is tiny and likes enormous water containers. She went to SMU, but I won’t hold that against her (it’s a Texas thing). Ben has movie star hair. His family has been involved in movies since celluloid was invented. Matt used to be the head honcho at Rotten Tomatoes when Rotten Tomatoes was still awesome and controversy free. Alonzo is a Deep South native like myself, and his movie review eye roll is level 10. If you want to torture Alonso, force him to rewatch Versace. 🤗🤗
  • nebulocity
Movie reviews by some of my favorite movie reviewers
I’m so glad that this team has found an outlet to keep talking about movies. Smart and funny movie reviews, and interesting conversations about film and the film industry.

    Eggs over easy, bacon crispy
You guys are the best. Actual movie critics that are knowledgeable?! A rare breed. Don’t ever change, Christy, Alonso, Ben, and Matt.
