Sometimes entertaining. Lots of dribble and side discussion. Sometimes the side talk goes so long the story is lost. Such a cool topic I just wish they’d stay more focused on the story and delivery and less side conversations, chuckles and random thoughts.

I work 12 hours shifts and burned through all the episodes super quick. Love the show hope you guys can hit your goal to go full time.

Found your podcast last week, love it. Thank you for being non-political, daughter and I deleted a podcast, too political, believe in free speech but you don’t berate people. Husband enjoyed listening too. Found Arra that is how we got started.

I like the content, they cover cases I’ve never heard of, which is refreshing. They also don’t do much too off-topic small-talking. I’d like to see less time spent on hiking advice and their personal experiences at the parks bc, after all, i think we’re all here for the mystery of the case. My only complaint: the music goes on too long and is often too loud for their voices which, for my hearing, is very uncomfortable but others may be fine with it. This is the first pod where I’ve experienced this though.

You lost me when you made fun of viewers that asked questions about different types of bears, their attacks, and their behavior. It’s been a while. I’m sure you will make fun of me, as well. Which is why I’m no longer listening even though it is a topic I’m interested in.

For the love of God, please look up the pronunciation of basic words before hosting this podcast. Who says Est-eeez Park? Also, the abrupt start of (louder volume) ads in the middle of a conversation is jarring. Ugh. I really wanted to like this podcast.

I really enjoy the stories and the interesting facts provided on the locations. I would recommend a better editing job, as the ads often occur in the middle of a sentence and it’s very awkward.

I’ve listened to several episodes and I can’t believe these two are experienced wilderness hikers. They sound so dumb and very awkward with pointless ramblings about how to pronounce words. And the thumbnail artwork for this “show” is amateur at best.

I love the different genre of true crime and disappearances that you guys offer.

I’ve been a listener for a very long time and I love this podcast, but please, for the love of God put something before your ads interrupt. Some of the episodes give me almost a literal heart attack because there’s no warning until some completely different voice is screaming in my ear for a casino ad. Either a pause, or transition music would be very much appreciated. I literally almost passed out today. The casino ad is absolutely horrific. With that with no pause between your voice and theirs lol. Just a suggestion. Keep up the good work love you guys.

Listened for half an hour and they got no where with the story. As if they were also hearing it for the first time. Not well structured. Do not recommend if you like a story. They add a bunch of details just to fill time that are too confusing to mean anything to listeners.

I have been listening to Mike & Joe for years. I love how real they are are their sense of humor. Mispronunciations aside, I love all of the cases they cover. They inspired me to start my own pod about the outdoors. Much love from Elyse at Morbid Outdoors Podcast!

The concept and idea behind this podcast is great and something I find intriguing. However, the constant mispronunciation and random guessing about facts is unforgivable. It makes me question any bit of information if the researchers can’t even manage to find out specific facts about the very subject they are presenting. Have been listening for quite some time and I have finally reached the breaking point.

I will forgive you every mispronunciation if you go back to you two guys. Cannot deal with her robotic delivery, much prefer the old ramshackle format!

Really disappointed to tune in to show and find it was not regular hosts. Takes away from the what makes the show fun and enjoyable. Would have been better for guys to have done the story.

It seems like the hosts are new to podcasting but they have episodes going back a few years? They are not very eloquent story tellers or deep researchers, sharing only the very basics of each case. They need some support with editing: there is a lot of umm’s, long pauses, & lots of background noise. I gave them two stars instead of 1 because I’m from the Midwest & live on the west coast now and I miss hearing how my accent sounds. They are very endearing.

Two people are hosting. One plays the straight man. One is constantly laughing. The laughing guy, even when the topic is deadly serious, is totally off putting. It’s annoying. Is this supposed to be comedy? Listening to this is hard. I guess this production not to be taken seriously

I love you guys. But that girl you added is so fake. I can’t explain this without cursing. That middle class boring nothing female should be strangled. God bless. Ew. Done.

I love this show!!! I love the fact that it’s not all scripted & they go into their own theories! Thanks guys for the hiking & survival tips cause a lot of the things I’ve learned so far will always stay with me!!

Really tried but the hosts lack of prep and time spent looking things up on the fly just couldn’t hold my attention. The subject matter is important and stories should be told, but they really need to do more work before recording. It’s also obvious they play more for people watching, not listening. It’s hard to follow along when you’re constantly referencing a photo or video people can’t see.

I just found this podcast. The hosts are great and I really enjoy them. The problem is their ad breaks are inserted in the middle of a sentence. Sometimes in the middle of a word. The ads are often very loud and jarring which conflicts with their pleasant voices. The hosts clearly put a lot of research and effort into their shows. Too bad the finished product is so hard to listen to.

Good sound quality and you both have great podcast voices but, yes I’m a pronunciation snob, I can’t get past the mispronunciation of locations. I have lived in central Florida for about 25 years and have never heard Wekiwa pronounced Wa key wa. It’s Wa ky (like sky) wa or Wa ky va. Please do more research on how to pronounce words properly.

Great podcast premise and interesting stories that these guys obviously researched very well. I just couldn’t concentrate on the story with all the distracting ahs,ums, and sos.

I started listening after they were on National Park After Dark. I love the idea and style of the podcast. The hosts really try to provide all the correct information possible and they do not take themselves too seriously.

I’m so glad I found this podcast! Great banter, compelling stories, fabulous locations.

I just found your show a few days ago, and am so excited that I have over a 100 episodes to listen to! Other podcasts have covered some of these stories, however, your research is top notch, and you are experienced in the outdoors, which lends to your credibility as podcast hosts. I live in Colorado, and always enjoy the stories that take place here. As a mom and grandma, it is very frustrating when I hear about little ones that go missing, that were totally not dressed for the climate, or left to wander on their own. Hopefully your podcasts will help to educate those who are new to exploring the wilderness, and help them be better prepared. Kim Arvada, CO

I love this show I wish there were way more episodes!

I love this podcast! The hosts are interesting and funny. They have high quality guests on who are experts in their field (ie. Search and Rescue, etc.). The cases are fascinating.

Like the podcast but I also like to hear the story. I don’t need the entire history off the forest, every time it rained in the last 200 years, and every person in the state that’s had a hang nail. Just get to the point but otherwise, great show.

I just finished the episode about the BWCA. it sounded like you were very familiar with the area, so please explain to me why you can’t pronounce Ely properly. It might seem like a small thing to you, but because you have so many listeners who value your knowledge and opinions, and trust that you know what you’re talking about, you leave a whole bunch of people with the impression that the name is pronounced “EE–lye” instead of “EE–lee.” Two lines of Ely families came over from Europe in the 1620s and settled in the US. Both groups came from the Isle of Ely — the original name was the Isle of Eels — and they have never changed the way it is pronounced. It doesn’t rhyme with belly and it doesn’t rhyme with rely.

The hosts present a Wikipedia at a glance level research into their episodes. Their pronunciation of people and places is intentionally disrespectful and in very bad taste.

Good stuff, I enjoy hearing about the parks beforehand. But NPAD isn’t good, please don’t do anymore collaborations with them, they’re terrible. I’d rather eat corn through a barbed wire fence

I love this show! The content is great. Good radio voices. Their banter isn’t annoying. They don’t cuss, get political, or go on polarizing rants. They just tell the stories. Thank you!!

Came here from NPAD excited to listen and was disappointed. The topics and stories they select to cover are interesting but the hosts unfortunately make it hard to listen to. The lack of preparation, rambling, and uncaring vibes of the hosts is leading me to unfollow. NPAD and Locations Unknown have covered some of the same stories, and NPAD’s was 10x better.

I really tried. Love NPAD and heard you there so popped over here. I like Mike….but Joe….. he’s that guy your so sorry started talking to you at a party. The ego…..yikes. And dad jokes don’t need to be a full personality. Sorry guys, love the stories, but can’t take Joe anymore. I do wonder….was Mike so enthralled with the “party” got in college and now he doesn’t know how to cut him loose?

There are all these reviews complaining about “too much talking.” You realize you’re LISTENING to a podcast, right? I love the hosts and their knowledge of nature, survival, and the great outdoors - along with their amusing banter and serious discussion about true crime, evidence, and theories.

Balance the host and co-host’s mics

Love the concept but the pronunciation issues is just….🤦🏻‍♀️ makes it difficult to listen sometimes. Please please please take more time before recording to prepare - it is obvious you don’t prepare the readings ahead of time. Some of the mispronunciation is blatantly disrespectful and then you just joke and laugh about it. If you want better ratings like you are always going on about, take this advice! Seriously!

I’m loving this. I’m really interested in NPAD and Tooth and Claw and it’s similar but a different vibe and style. If anyone listens to the other two this pod will be your next fav
