Beaker30Content is so goodBut the audio quality is so bad. Equalize it. So I can listen to it without having to deal with my hyper-sensitive nervous system losing it over wild volume levels

Mark VNThe Conservative Evangelical Christian VibeChristian speakers on this podcast often fail to see how Christian supremacy and Christian nationalism and the patriarchy, misogyny, and homophobia that accompany it are often the cause of trauma in the U.S.

Cakes McClainExtremely HelpfulThis podcast has opened my eyes and has helped me. I haven’t wanted to go and get help but I know I do. I’ve been listening to this awesome podcast while I work and more at home now too. There was one I listened to last night and where you talk about Mother Hunger, oh my goodness. Thank you so much for this! I encourage anyone just starting to just keep listening. So reassuring and inspiring!

BethiefaithHurt. PTSD.Traumatized listening to an episode of religious trauma with Charity Taylor. I am her younger sister I lied under this person who has sadly lied to Monique. I have reached out to Monique to maybe do some back ground checking on by this actor/pretender “Charity Taylor”who has rewrote her history. Sadly Monique did zero investigation or even checking on what this person is actually like. After I reached out to Monique on every social media platform I could find her on I was not messaged back, I went to do a follow up since I’m sure she’s busy and found that I have not only been ignored but blocked. I have nothing but questions for someone that doesn’t see through a narcissist that is using Monique as a way to blast her parents. Two people who have done nothing but good for her. Charity has 3 younger siblings living their own lives happy in contact and loved as adults with good relationships with these parents she is trying to hurt with this. I was raised in the same home and I can tell you that many and most of the things she said and used as examples of the trauma she went through was what she actually put her siblings through growing up and into our adult years. Charity in fact, is a bizarre religious zealot that tried to have my family shun me for marrying a divorced man. She only moved out of the home she was provided for in at 35ish because our parents welcomed me and my husband (charity didn’t approve of) into their house for the first week after a very difficult birthing experience with our son and we’re in need of help while I recuperated. She only left the home of the two kindest people because they allowed a (in Charity’s words) “Bastard” child and his imperfect parents into the home she still freeloaded in with their newborn. The two kindest parents a person could wish for. People who did her laundry, bought her a car, provided food (even at 35 and encouraged her to move out on her own whenever she was ready but never ever tried to keep her there or suppressed) people who basically lived in fear and walked on eggshells in her presence if they so much as took a bath before she did. The last two week in my parents home before I married I was pregnant and scared to tell anyone because Charity was being so cruel and yelling at me nonstop and had me in tears and afraid I would lose my child from the emotional abuse she was putting me through, every second I was there. Why? …because I was marrying someone she didn’t approve of. (She being an adult sister trying to control who her adult sister marries) She cut her brother out of her life because he had a bad turn for a while. I remember times she would bully my little sister (12 yrs her JR) calling her “fat” and saying that no man would ever want her (and much worse). I could go on and own with stories of her trying to be physically abusive and my parents having to try and figure out ways to help her or calm her. I lived in fear of making her mad and her someday flipping and murdering everyone. She’s seriously mentally ill and needs actual help. (Please @Monique, please spot enabling her abuse. Please I beg you, research even just a little and at least try to verify stories before allowing someone to traumatize people that have actually been forever harmed by them.) If you don’t believe me let me show you the scars in my hand from her sticking her nails in my hand until they bled. (This was at the age of 25) she’s insane.

Nicosylvan1978Heart and mind-openingI’ve been working with the same trauma therapist for twenty years. My life and trauma have become much more manageable but I feel stuck. Listening to this show has brought so many new voices, insights, strategies and relatable stories to my life…I feel so much more hopeful about all of the new learning and resources that are discussed and introduced. Thank you for this show!

Estela09Good content but audio is lackingThe content is useful but the audio is painful to listen too. I don’t know if it’s audio issues but the host’s voice is so shrill and high pitched. It’s not pleasant to listen to and really gets in the way of the message.
-

Dr. Paula CVery informative, and great calm toneImportant information shared by many excellent speakers. I especially appreciate Monique’s nice voice and the calm, relaxed tone of this podcast. Beginning with the lovely opening music, I sensed the calm right away, and it made me feel safe to listen and learn. No hype, no scratchy voice, just smoothness. Thank you.

thegatheringplaceValidationBeing an adopted child of adoptive parents with narcissistic traits, the contents of this podcast HIT HOME. Never even knew I had the right to have boundaries, or needs for that matter. This podcast reinforces my efforts to be in recovery from having been conditioned in this toxic way.

Hurricane GrandmaThankfully yoursI can’t even thank you for how much your podcast has helped me in healing my sexual abuse and my inner child and understanding why I have these different personalities and to realize they all hold their own stories and are witnessing my memories and terror I suffered as a child until my adulthood . I listen to your podcast when I go to bed and wake up with it playing in my ear. Now it all makes perfect sense and it a short time I have grown so much spiritually and emotionally. Keep up the good work you do because you are helping so many people and it’s changing lives. May God bless you Ronda

Tawvya HThe best trauma informed podcastThis podcast is incredible! I listened to everyone multiple times. I have never felt so seen and heard. I had an amazing trauma informed therapist years ago, have listened and read so many books on CPTSD and this podcast gave me more information than all of them put together. Highly recommend this for anyone dealing with trauma!

JeffKat2014Saved my life ❤️I feel like finding your podcast changed my life. I found it earlier this year when I was having panic attacks all day every day. Listening to the episodes was the only thing to calm me down. And then from there, I started researching even more about childhood trauma/childhood abuse and also EMDR professionals in my area. Now, I’m in the midst of going through an EMDR program with a psychiatrist and I feel more comfortable in my skin than I ever have before. It took not running from the issues and the memories, but instead running towards them. I just wanted to thank you for everything you do. Your podcasts really really help me!

Cher HaleEye-opening and full of heartMonique’s conversation with Fritzi Horstman was eye-opening. It not only helped me better understand my partner who experienced trauma as a teenager but also gave me a new perspective on how seemingly acceptable actions like materialism are a form of violence. It is such a beautiful and necessary podcast, and I think everyone who is on a path to better understand themselves and others could benefit from listening in.
-
Saima4059A ray of hopeMonique’s content is like a ray of light in the dark remnants of trauma and attachment wounds. Thank you for all your hard work!

soarkle87Just what I needed!!!I’m soooo grateful that I came across this podcast! I’ve wondered for the longest time what was wrong with me and I knew it had something to do with my childhood but I just wasn’t finding the answers I needed. On here I heard of cptsd for the first time now I’m learning so much. I’m also super grateful to find out that there are others out there suffering from the same type of issues. Thank you so much Monique I’m forever grateful to My Higher Power for bringing me your podcast.
-
alexeng24601Invaluable ResourceI found Monique probably the same day I was diagnosed with PTSD and I started to research “Trauma Healing” and her podcast came up. I recommend it constantly and listen to nearly every episode. Her attitude and presence is very soothing and helped introduce me to concepts in psychology that made my therapy sessions more productive because I was being exposed to the modalities and trauma healing outside of a sixty minute session.
-
LizziePandoGreat Podcast But Poor AudioI love the content of this podcast, but often the audio is unbearable. Hopefully better technology is coming soon to Monique! Thanks!
-

sweetgirlsheWow!Time after time Monique expresses the things I’m feeling and experiencing but have never had the words to explain. Before discovering this podcast I had never heard of cptsd. I’m so thankful for this information and for Monique’s kind and genuine delivery

bamamom61Amazing Podcast!I found Monique on Instagram. When I would read her words of wisdom, it resonated with me in ways I didn’t understand and couldn’t explain. My whole adult life I have felt stuck. Stuck in my past. Stuck with reacting to situations that arise in my life that are difficult, the same way, over and over. I would check out, run away from, avoid social situations, and dread family gatherings. I contacted Monique and within one conversation she was able to explain what was happening to me and my body. Monique is my trauma coach. Throughout our sessions together, along with the exceptional Podcast she has available for everyone, I have learned that I am not alone! Her Podcast have enriched our sessions and have helped me learn so much about childhood trauma. Thank you Monique for creating these amazing Podcast.
-
mindbeggarLife changingThis podcast and the associated instagram account has changed my life. I am 70 years old and my whole life i suffered but had no idea why. My mind and body is doing it’s job to protect me and I am not broken. She has been a compassionate witness for me as well which has been a huge part of my healing. JruffridgeSafe placeI haven’t found many places that have made me feel this understood. Monique has a compassion in her voice that gives breath as well as stability in the knowledge and education she provides along with the guests that share. As a young mom, now diagnosed, with cptsd and healing from the trauma I experienced as a child sex trafficking survivor, finding a space like this is rare. Thank you Monique for being so influential in the quest to help us and others be properly trauma informed. Priceless to me!

3LittleP'sA Body-Mind approach to Complex TraumaAfter discovering her on Instagram, I decided to check out the podcast on how messes can be trauma triggers. Monique Koven presents her knowledge of trauma in an articulate and meaningful way. Trained in the Polyvagal approach, she does an amazing service to listeners by helping them understand what trauma responses look like, and how they are stored in the body! As a social worker myself, I cannot recommend this podcast highly enough!
-
Adrienne N RSupportive and SafeAs a trauma recovery specialist and a survivor myself, I sometimes find I need that extra bit of support and care from someone who knows this journey. Monique offers that here and I am so grateful for her podcast!

katrinacapturesBy far my new favorite podcast.I’ve been on a healing journey for years now, and I felt STUCK. I felt like no matter how much I healed my mind I couldn’t move forward. This podcast helped me realize that I was not beyond repair. I felt so see and so heard, and so INSPIRED. Thank you so much Monique. You have something very special here, I am internally grateful. It’s a must listen. 🥰
-
DanilovexoA Healing Must! This podcast was so instrumental in my healing journey. Monique’s gentle and honest approach coupled with her experiential and knowledge informed awareness was a gift to my healing. For the first time I felt acknowledged, like someone understood me and could relate. Listening to this podcast brought me much needed safety and support during a time I needed it most.
-
MeeeeeeeeeiaHelpful PodcastNot only is it helpful, but I also find it comforting during my moments of emotional cruddiness. The audio quality isn’t the best though. A lot of the times the guest sounds clear, but the host’s volume is wayyyyy lower.

Eliana RachelWonderful podcastWhat I really appreciate about this podcast is that Monique acknowledges the hardships of overcoming trauma, without sounding hopeless. I find that some people either don’t acknowledge it and have a more “you have to move on” attitude towards it. Or, some podcasts dwell in the hardships and I don’t feel as motivated or hopeful afterwards. This podcast strikes the perfect balance to where the listener feels both validated and encouraged. She covers a wide range of subjects, is well-spoken and engaging. Definitely recommend!
