    Awesome
    My favorite pawcast
  • Who Was John Galt?
    A pretty good pawkast
I like this show for its minimalist production and diverse, practical advice. I have one big peeve, and it has nothing to do with woodworking. Guy always calls it a pawcast…for some reason he never pronounces the ‘d’ when he says “podcast”. Given that this peeves me, and he says “pawcast” at least six times every episode, I am tempted to rate it at four stars.

    I miss Sean. 😢
I’ve been listening to the Podcast for several years and loved gaining the knowledge that Guy, Huy and Sean have so graciously bestowed upon us! This podcast is fantastic for all hobbyist woodworkers! A while back, Sean left and a new host name Brian has stepped in. In my opinion, this has not been an equal swap. Brian often takes questions that he doesn’t know the answer to and then asks the other 2 hosts to answer it for him. Or, he hasn’t had any experience with the questions that Guy and Huy takes and says, “I’m taking notes on this, too.” I understand he doesn’t want to be on social media, but how can we take someone’s advice to heart if he can’t answer questions about pretty basic woodworking principals and can’t show off any of his work? I understand that Sean won’t be back and that’s a shame, but we’ve got to get someone in the third seat that seems a bit more qualified.

    Fantastic woodworking podcast
Better than any of the dozen woodworking podcasts I tried. They get to woodworking topics quickly and stay on them. Fantastic knowledge base. Practical advice. Great job!!!

    My go to

Best woodworking Podcast on the market
I have listened to several woodworking podcasts and this one is by FAR the best. I have learned so much listening to these guys answer OUR questions. They stay on topic and give honest and great answers! Keep up the good work guys!
  • Deezes
    Solid show with nice people
Add this to your list of shows if you’re a woodworker that doesn’t get enough time in the shop.
  • The Cooking Studio Fort Collin
    Informative
These podcasts are full of great information! For a beginner woodworker it’s encouraging to hear the masters of the craft discussing the process and answering questions.
  • The Shopfather
    No Useless Banter
I listen to several woodworking podcasts. This is the only one where they discuss actual woodworking for the majority of the time.

    Worth your time!
This is a great woodworking \ maker podcast that is worth your time. I have learned a lot from this podcast. Very helpful indeed
  • Prspastor
    Great Podcast!
I love this podcast because they stay on topic, have a lot to share and teach, and I always walk away from every episode having learned something. I’ve listed to every episode, so I’m a fan!
  • MarksFW
Learning a lot - worth the time without a lot of side chatter
I really like this podcast because, unlike some others, the bulk of a discussion is about woodworking, details, and learning. Just the right balance of chatter versus content.

    Nice podcast
I enjoy your podcast. It’s a nice combination of talent. I’m a hobby shop woodworker and I like the variety of your views on how to do things. We all have our opinions yet I think that we can all learn from each other. Sometimes I will take a day or two thinking about the best way to approach a build. I think that if you have a knack for something you can learn a lot just listing to what others are doing. There are many podcasters and they are all so called “experts” to some extent or another yet you can tell when someone is just smoke or substance. I became a patron because I enjoy your podcast and it inspires me to get into my shop. I have also learned things and even though it is nice to get to know you all by listening, it’s substance that brings me back over and over again listening. Thanks for doing what you do. John Stevens

    Good podcast
I’m working my way through to podcast from the beginning. Great discussions, good advice, sometimes good banter back and forth. Guy can be a little irritating at times but it’s alway a fun listen.

    Keep it up!!!
You guys provide me with hours of great information. I’m a machinist by day and weekend woodworker, who is burned out on the happenings around the world and the news that is associated with it. Your content is not only applicable but very refreshing as well!!!
  • MyPenNeedsInk
    Great Show for the woodworker
Love love the crew who put this one on. They are great at answering listeners questions without taking themselves too seriously.

    One up.
Enjoy listening, informative podcast. I feel that there is person on the show that can be a bit arrogant, “one upping”, and/or belittling at times.
  • kschoolfield
    So helpful
This podcast does it right. I appreciate how the hosts are focused on the questions and helping the listeners increase their knowledge. So many other podcasts about woodworking are 50 percent helpful information and 50 percent host gab and humor. The latter I find annoying.
  • PeterBates
    Very informative
One of the best podcasts to get answers to your questions.
  • scratchcue
    Best Woodworking Podcast!
I’ve listened to a lot of podcasts and this is the best one I’ve found. All three guys are very knowledgeable and the question and answer format keeps the discussions on topic, relevant, and very helpful. I feel like applying their advice has improved my work and it inspires me to research things I’d never thought about before. I’m a constant listener. Thank you gentlemen.

    Best woodworking Podcast!
Recently stumbled across Woodshop Life podcast and have found it very informative as well as entertaining. Informative topics mixed with a bit of humor to keep it interesting. Keep up the good work guys!

    Knowledable
    Good for DIY’ers…
  • Mike Git
    Great content
Of all the woodworking shows this is the best because there is not a lot of BSing between them. They answer questions often from different perspectives and move on.
  • Chiton Creations
    “Cut” to the chase…
Love this podcast. I appreciate that they get right to the questions, they engage with good conversation about the topic at hand and truly attempt to share their knowledge of the craft. They are also truly supportive and respectful of the folks who send in questions. Well done.

Like the info, the tension with Shawn has become unbearable.
In the early days I really enjoyed the show. The last handful of episodes there has been a weird tension with Shawn and the other hosts, with some awkward arguing and a weird and distasteful attitude from Shawn. It’s become strange and almost unlistenable.
  • woodisgood1000
    Good info for beginners/hobbyists
I have listened to this show off and on since the beginning and often times enjoy it and find it educational and other times find myself shaking my head and saying the opposite of what some of them are advising, which is not abnormal for many woodworking podcasts; this show is better than most and doesn’t devolve too much into the “woes” of making content for social media platforms that most of them realistically do, so big props for that and for keeping it on subject! Most of the advice is sound. Some of it they have no or little experience with and they generally preface the answer as such. Guy has more practical experience that translates to real world advice, in my experience. I am a woodworking professional, so I have a different perspective and need than many hobbyists. I generally think this show is great for those figuring out how to get started, early along in your woodworking journey who don’t have much experience, and for hobbyists who don’t need to make a living doing this type of work. If you’re interested in a more professional woodworker approach check out Against the Grain and Woodworker’s Podcast, both of which seem to have spotty releases these days (professional woodworkers rarely have extra time to create podcasts!) but both have a lot of gold in the back catalogue.
  • dmc1784
    Very informative
Love listening to this podcast, the guys are very knowledgeable and practical in the advice they give.
  • Three Dog Creations
    Informative and entertaining
The three presenters answer questions submitted by listeners. And while 90% of the time they will have the same suggestion to a question they have a different perspective and reasoning for their answers. The shows flow well. There is no downtime with dead air and they rarely talk over each other.

    Fun show
I’m I beginner wood worker and I like this show. A lot.
  • tsworkshop
    Ya….ya
If you enjoy listening to Guy interrupt his cohosts and basically tell them they are wrong multiple times a show, then this is the show for you! You can also enjoy Guy saying, “ya….ya” atleast ten times an episode. I don’t agree with everything they say but they are knowledgeable and I enjoy the show.
  • aybenditomijo
    Great pod
I really enjoy listening to these guys. They provide lots of information on woodworking processes and techniques, tools and equipment reviews and are real fun.

    GOAT
You guys are the Joe Rogan of woodworking podcasts! I enjoy listening and always get something of value from every episode. Keep up the great work guys!

Look forward to every new episode!
I feel like I’m hanging out with you guys every Saturday morning in my garage working on my projects. Thanks for a great woodworking podcast!

    Best woodworking podcast out there
Simply one of the best woodworking podcasts out there. Whether you are a woodworking sapling or old growth fir, you will learn something new and useful every episode. Keep up the good work!
  • Toml2
    Very instructive
Lots of the reviews call out that this podcast is heavily geared to simply answering questions. Ill do the same. I find it helpful and generally come away with something I didn’t know. Thanks guys!
  • Dirtydees
    One of the best!
I recently found the pod and have quickly become addicted. Currently listening to all the old episodes, this is one of the few woodworking pods that puts the focus on woodworking. Great woodworking content from this group!

    Hey Ben
    Audio only is great!
  • Handmadebymjf
    Best woodworking podcast.
I found the show by searching through Apple podcasts, and am glad I did. This show actually gets down to answering questions from woodworkers. Other woodworking podcasts have their place, but if you want to hear answers to real woodworking problems, check these guys out.
  • natedogg1482
    Amazing
A podcast by woodworkers for woodworkers. This is what everyday hobbyists woodworkers want to listen to. Unlike other big woodworking podcasts who I’ll refrain from saying. Talking about things that aren’t really of significance
  • MillerMav
    Great Podcats
As someone who is young in his wood working journey this show is full of great information and detail about all sorts of things. I highly recommend.
  • Amallqui
    Best podcast for woodworkers
I recently discovered Guy’s wood shop and Alabama woodworker and I did not know about Sean but since then I have started following him too. The format of the show keeps me interested because there is new information every show and many of the questions I would ask myself are answered every new release. I am a beginner woodworker and unfortunately don’t have friends who share my interest so it’s really nice to have access to this type of information. Thank you all for inspiring me to continue to learn and improve my skills as I go along. On the other hand, my wife is dismayed at the amount of money I spend every 2 weeks which coincides with the release of a new episode of the Woodshop Life Podcast, so needless to say she is not a fan!

    New woodworker
Hello men, Really enjoy your podcast. Very helpful. As I I’m very green at wood working, I learn something new every time I listen. I am an mechanical engineer with about 5-7 years left before I retire. I have the the desire to setup a Woodshop in my two car detached garage. Right now it is a blank slate. My question is if you guys were starting from scratch and wanted to buy everything you needed to start woodworking, how much money would it take to buy it all? I talking the good stuff. Everything it would take to be on your level someday. Also, I live in central Indiana ( I think Guy is familiar) were should I start shopping. I really want to make this my retirement hobby. Thanks in advance.

Such a great place to find wood working wisdom!
I love this podcast! I am fairly new to wood working and this podcast has been one of my favorite ways to hear some great advice. I love that I hear about “Do’s and Don’ts” concerning the shop as well as insight into some tool reviews. The round robin questions are perfect! The only downsides are that the podcast is not long enough, and I have to wait two weeks for the next one 😉
  • j r woodworks tx
    Great advice
Just want to say thank you for all that y’all do and the time you put into the show. I have learned a lot from all three of you and think everyone can learn from y’all’s different backgrounds and prospectives thank again Justin
  • Hollywood252
Entertaining but heavy on content you can use
My favorite woodworking podcast. The hosts provide a lot of useful info about equipment, techniques and material in an engaging fashion. Truly like you were sitting down with friends for a chat.
  • Jason Ruffino
    My favorite podcast
Love the format of the show and especially the great advice from three well respected people in the woodworking community. I just wish there were more episodes! Keep up the good work! Jason Ruffino SkinnyDogShop
  • The Great Menzellini
    New woodworker
I’m a new woodworker and I like hearing about a variety of topics based on other folks questions. Some timings it’s covering issues I’ve encountered and other times it just helps my overall knowledge base. I’ve definitely gone back and replayed old episodes to remind myself how to deal with a problem. Thanks!
  • Deancreates
The only woodworking podcast for me
Woodworking podcasts tend to be rambling chattering with two or three knuckleheads talking about grinding and hustling and getting ‘er dun. This is not one of those bubba circle jerks. Guy, Huy and Sean have hit a sweet spot answering listener questions with just the right amount of bonhomie banter while offering up good advice and thoughtful reflection on their own experiences. No hype. No thinly veiled product promotion. Always an enjoyable listen
