    COPD or Darth Vader?
When did John start *gasp for air* audibly sucking in wind *gasp for air* every fourth or fifth *gasp for wind* word on the podcast? Maybe get a new mic or an inhaler.

    great if you
are incredibly cynical and negative. or if you like to hear people give backhanded compliments to their guests. check out the old episodes, before John started to scale back his total alpha male dominance over every situation.
  • Phenomxal
Talking heads that should not be talking and poor editing galore.
People with CTE should not be allowed to be in front of a microphone. This is shown clearly with a majority of the takes that host John Scott has on this show. He is either incredibly short sighted or is the ultimate rage baiter. Tired and poorly thought out takes constantly. Editing of the podcast leaves much to be desired. Leaving in people talking over each other as well as just leaving in your burps coughs and yawns while guests are talking is just the epitome of this show. Absolutely not worth being high on your listening priority list, but is worth listening to if you want to appreciate most other hockey podcast more as this one makes almost all the others seem amazing.

My apologies to Mr John Scott
When John and MTU Huskies would come to Grand Forks to play I would absolutely berate John (in good fun). Even made him side grin once (I think). He was a good sport. Over his career he grew to be one of my favorite players and now with this podcast he’s one of my favorite people. Such a great show from a genuine hockey genius.

    Love It
John and Tim, in my opinion, have one of the best hockey podcasts (contrary to some of the other reviews). It's never serious but insightful, and they keep it light. It's almost like if my buddy and I started our own podcast. Will I forget that it's Jake Oettinger and not Jared, like Tim does, probably? It's one of my favorite listens, especially when John goes on a tangent or starts talking about his real life or playfully digs into Tim for being a Bruins fan.

    Best Hockey Podcast Out There
I’ve been a listener for over 3 years now and I feel like I know these guys. Great takes on hockey and they make you feel like you know what’s going on all throughout the NHL

    Dropping the gloves
I find this podcast interesting, informative, and easy to listen to. John and Tim both have a great sense of humor and insight into the game and life, I always look forward to the next podcast whether it’s an interview or just the NHL updates and the observation on how the game has changed. This is from a guy who started going to games at the old Red Wings barn as a kid with my dad.

4th line player, 4th line podcast.
Much like Scott’s career, you put this podcast on when you have nothing left in the tank and you want to kill a few seconds to give every other hockey mind a second to catch their breath. Tim seems alright. I’m unsubscribing.

    Best NHL podcast
John brings his enforcer chops to the microphone and throws honest haymakers at every topic related to the NHL today. His cohost is tape to tape with JS, good rapport not afraid to disagree. Great listen for all Hockey fans you won’t be disappointed.

    Good Stuff
Best Hockey Podcast. The guys have personalities and do not alienate new listeners by taking time to talk about hanging with their bros and getting wasted. Thank you 😊

    Parenting podcast
Listening to the “bold predictions” episode. The beginning hearing about the dish washer, makes me realize John needs to start a parenting podcast. I’ll subscribe for sure. Chris in south Florida.

    Very entertaining podcast!
For someone like me who just started getting into the NHL a couple years ago, it’s helped me stay knowledgeable about the league. Also, it’s very entertaining! For first time listeners, fair warning, for the first ten minutes or so they start with non-hockey talk as John and Tim talk about their lives, which is also fun to listen to. Anyway, keep up the great work!
  • better than john at hockey
    Embarrassing
Dragging Zegras name even after multiple reports confirmed he didn’t make those comments. At least backtrack and admit you were wrong. Must be mad the kid has more talent in his pinky than you ever did

    Billy Madison
Your take on Connor McDavid reminded me of the scene from Billy Madison where the debate guy said something to the effect of “what you just said made no sense and we are all dumber for having listened to it.”

    Dropping the gloves
Frank, entertaining conversation between a former NHL player and a knowledgeable hockey fan with many interviews with active NHL players
  • Tommys Fan since 86
    Misinformation and same 3 teams.
If you want misinformation about things outside of hockey and talk about the same 3 teams this is the pod for you. Boring.

    Finally called it quits
John and Tim, normally fantastic content and I thank you for it. I’ve ignored the political drops from John in the past, but I can’t any longer, I’m out. Best of luck boys.

    Great hockey pod
Thanks for the great hockey insight. Thanks for keeping it clean. I enjoy the little personal touch you and Tim provide. The content is first class, a look from a former player and a fan is awesome. Go Tech and TC Trojans.

    BABY!
Hilarious to hear your new born in the background. Congratulations!
  • Tyler (The Iceman)
    Great pod
This an amazing podcast about Hummingbirds with a great mix of hockey!
  • neaux.m
    Those pronunciations though
John Scott’s disinterest in learning the player names is hilarious! It has to be satire at this point right? When your content is entirely on the NHL and the host is out here just making up first and last names, thats confidence baby.

    Thank You For Listening
To Dropping the w/John Scott!! Woooo yeah!
  • Welxqzme
You would think it’s a parody, but it’s not!
Not a bad podcast to hear a NHL outsider’s opinion of what’s going on. Of course we all know John Scott was a joke/meme when he was playing, and fortunately he never outgrew it! We get to hear John’s bitter views of NHL players as he and Tim talk about his insecurities and what’s happening in the NHL…but it works! It feels like a parody podcast, but you sadly know it’s not.

    John Scott’s show is great
I love his show and as a veteran I was very happy John spoke up about the lockdown and our rights. I was already a fan of his but after hearing that, I have to say he was spot on about not giving up rights. I can’t believe he got me with that April Fools Joke lol

    Best Hockey Podcast …
This is a great hockey podcast- not only do you get insight from an nhl all star- but I can listen to it with my 7 year old who loves hockey. Thank you John and Tim for showing the younger generations that you can love hockey without having to be vulgar.
  • BrooksTX
Great dynamic between the hosts and family friendly
John and Tim do an amazing job keeping people up to date on the goings on in the NHL. They’ve insured that it’s a family friendly show however the clean back and forth banter and chirps add a level of hilarity that only comes naturally when two hosts click. I love that they post new content 3 days a week and they’ve become my favorite go to pod. Thanks guys!
  • WJCB430
    Nah
    Bad, bad, bad.
  • ChristianBk
    A terrific hockey podcast
I appreciate the 2-3 episodes a week that’s about hockey going on now. I find it more structured than other hockey podcasts I’ve listened to. John has a fun perspective on the game and I like to laugh at Tim’s horrible bet advice.

    Great Pod!
I listen every week. My only complaint is that these aren’t longer! Keep it up boys.

    Top Shelf Content
These guys are great, their banter is great, and they always have insightful, funny, and knowledgeable takes on what’s going on both on and off the ice.
  • Bad gym
    Great podcast
I listen to a lot of different hockey podcasts and this is one of my favorites! I love the comedic review of many of the teams in the league and the insider knowledge of the NHL from a former player not just a reporter that thinks they know what actually goes on in the league. Great listen all around
  • AGW222
    Best of the best
Watch out Expectorating Teeth, or whatever it’s called (purposefully gets spittin chiclets name wrong to antagonize), there’s a new(ish?) hockey podcast in town. You don’t need to look any further for your hockey podcast fix. John and Tim do not disappoint.
  • Werria
    Very enjoyable time
Love John and his Knowledge of hockey is outstanding. I have lost a lot of passion for sports due to COVID madness but listening is bringing me back. This podcast is great but a Michigan Tech Graduate is always great at everything !!
  • DrNHL
    Consistently good clean fun!
I think John has always been quirky but that’s what makes him! More player involvement interviews etc. Just need to tone down the man crushes you and Tim have. Your faith is shining but not being blasted which I think is awesome too. No vulgar comments and the entire family can listen!
  • Croteau23
    Tim killed it
I’ve been listening to the show for at least over a year now. I love every aspect of the show that they’re serious about hockey but still have other lives and are human. I don’t ever write reviews but since Tim killed it I had to show John that maybe Tim doesn’t even need you and we’d all still show our support. But in the end hope John has a great vacation and Tim has a good week enjoy the 5 stars you deserve it.

    Great Interviews
Love the perspective given and also very excited this podcast keeps having current players on during the offseason! Great job by Tim and John (loved John on NYR)

    My go to hockey podcast
I absolutely love John and Tim. Dropping the gloves has turned into one of my favorite hockey podcast. It’s both extremely informative and entertaining l.

    Great show
Great banter, interviews, and takes on players/teams. Loses a star because of the political rants that make John sound like a caricature of a grumpy old man

    Like the show
Used to listen to chicklets but they are a little too dirty sometimes (especially with kids around) and I get tired of hearing Whitney brag about himself and his golf game. So I found this podcast. I never followed John during his career. Frankly didn’t know who he was until the all star game. But I really enjoy listening. It’s like sitting with two buddies chatting about hockey. John is not right all the time and can have big opinions but that’s part of the fun and will make you laugh. Tim is a great sidekick. Although, the poor guy, it seems like he is always going through some calamity in the short time I’ve been listening, such as covid or breaking his leg (be careful Tim!) He’s very relatable to the average hockey fan.
  • Golf boy
    What a podcast
So I’m a loser and listen to 3 different hockey podcasts, this one is now my favorite. It’s 30-40 mins, I love their take on hockey and John is hilarious. Great work men!

    John Scott Killing It
I really enjoy this podcast. If you consider yourself a serious hockey fan than this is a must listen. The three episodes a week aren’t typically very long but both John and Tim do a phenomenal job breaking down the game and providing their analysis. John is also opinionated but does a good job backing it up with stats and reasoning showing his expertise even if you don’t agree with him. You can see how smart John really is and how he wasn’t just another fighter in the NHL. I like how John draws in on his experience from playing in the NHL and makes the game easy to understand for the common fan. You will learn a lot from the way they break it down and talk about things you don’t notice when watching the game. It’s also pretty funny and the banter between John and Tim always has me laughing. Bottom line is if you want a podcast where you’ll learn more about hockey and the nuances of what goes on in a game with great analysis, this is a must listen.
