Kaslo25A Golden Adventure! The brave Berserker Rich and the salacious Sage Bill set out on an adventure to overcome the Golden Challenge; games of yore, many of which have been lost to time. In their early career the duo had explored many dungeons and ultimately toppled the archfiend Alan. In a search for the fabled lost books of Ys, the two have to separate on a quest to double space dungeons: one being deep within the star ocean, in the Algol star system. Upon return to earth, their SaGa continues as they join forces with two young SeeD recruits: the searing Samurai Jay and the studious Strategist Scott. Tune in each week as the merry band of adventures take on challenges old and new!

harrisll81Excellent Podcast for any RPG FanI’ve really enjoyed this podcast for the following reasons: wonderful community of listeners, very knowledgeable and funny hosts, and a good variety of game reviews. This is the only podcast that I’m a patron of and I thoroughly enjoy all of the benefits that come along with my subscription. I especially enjoy their casual deep dives into RPG’s as well as other video games. The hosts have a fun rapport and excellent banter every week. I would recommend to any RPG fan! PS - it is now law that the game of the DECADE is Jackbox Party Pack 3... it is written.

whydoineedanocknametoreviewI really want to be able to get into this showFound this podcast a few months back. Liked that there were themes or shows that would focus on specific games. Mainly I wanted to hear about games I liked, was going to play, or figure out if a game I hadn’t played was worth it. What I got was a 90 minute show about anchor with bits and pieces of video game related content interspersed. You guys are clearly passionate about games but I feel like the show needs a lot of tightening up. Even on 2x speed the gaps between talking few like forever. You have a formula but it also feels way too off the cuff for me. Please pick a direction. Either just be a group of folks talking about whatever comes to mind or stick to the points and be ready to go. Again I really want to like it, but when I’m at minute 27 of a 90 minute show and you haven’t even started talking about what the episode was advertised to be about (in this instance FF VII r review). In 27 minutes I got three sponsor adds (I hear anchor is great), a plug for a charity, something about a meme and some sort of way too long song that I gave up on and fast forwarded through.

Redfield70x7Outwardly political in Romancing SaGa 3 epStarts with horrendous sound quality - which continues throughout the entire episode. Music in the background drowns out the voice half the time, the other half is drown out by noises from the host walking out in public areas with rain, trains, and goodness knows what else. But hey, he’s talking about Romancing SaGa 3, so I’ll endure through to try and parse together what he’s saying. But oh, wait, he brings up politics and government first. Great... but he says, “I won’t get political, because I don’t want to offend anyone” and then proceeds to a. Get political with his views, b. Talk about these to the point where he alienates listeners who are conservative in their views. Okay... plenty of other video game podcasts struggle to somehow keep their political views out of games discussions. So I’ll let that and the terrible sound quality and mixing slide, because man... not many podcasts cover SaGa games. Proceeds to talk minimally about RS3 and also uses the Lord’s name in vain multiple times. Look. The guy seems nice and had a good sense of humor. He seems passionate about video games. That’s all really cool, and I think it’s admirable to make a video game podcast and pursue your hobbies. But guys... please.. it’s not that hard to separate your political and anti-religious/conservative views and beliefs from talking about video games. I don’t get why it is. Talk about the games you say you’ll talk about. Talk about the sound, the graphics, the characters, story, gameplay, and other various aspects in relation - your experiences with them, what you liked and didn’t like. Be respectful and leave your political views out of it. I seriously don’t see why it’s so hard to do that. This review is based on one episode (I get that) but it was so miserable that it led me here. I hardly ever review podcasts, good or bad, but this tipped me over the edge. Unfortunately, first impressions can make or break it. Here, this did the trick. I can’t recommend this podcast.

RPGs & Death MetalThe absolute best RPG podcastIn this podcast Bill and Rich (plus others occasionally) are playing through an insane amount of games, and you’ll have just as much fun listening to them talk about it. The banter is laugh out loud funny, the reviews are honest and fair, the opinions are expert but not elitist, and the excitement is contagious. For anyone with a passion for the genre, hit that subscribe button immediately.
