DAVIDBOWIE: ALBUMTOALBUM

27

Each David Bowie album is unique. Some are universally lionised, some regarded as merely legendary, some, pretentious codswallop. But we all have our favourites. In this series of podcasts, I meet up with writers, musicians, critics and assorted woodland folk, to explore their choice of album in rambling roundelays of free-form facting, anorak-grade geekery, pompous pontification, impassioned argument and highly-contentious chat. I like to think these podcasts exercise the minds of some of the world’s (well, at least the bit I am in) most eminent Bowiebores, my lugubrious interrogations spurring them to wax lyrical and entertainingly - just for you. I hope you enjoy listening to them.Presented and produced by Arsalan MohammadMusic by Leah Kardos

Now I understand what podcasts are supposed to be
I generally do not listen to podcasts nor write reviews, but this programme is exceptional. Insightful commentary and witty dialogue make this passionately researched and charmingly esoteric podcast an entertaining and informative way to while away the hours. If you’re a fan of David Bowie’s incredible range of work, or a passerby looking to step into the beautiful and creative universe he created, this podcast will do you right. Please keep them coming!

    Superlative
AlbumtoAlbum: The David Bowie Album Podcast is an excellent and wonderful piece of work due to, in part, the breadth of knowledgable and charismatic guests that appear on each podcast opining about their favorite Bowie album, but also because Arsalan has meticulously researched and presented his subject so well. Each episode leaves you richer than you were before in terms of ‘Bowieology’ and of course each podcasts sends you back to the record of choice with a new and wider appreciation of its merits. I recommend this podcast to Bowie fans and music fans alike. I have found it to be an indispensable source of information for all things Bowie. Thank you. Jason Dobson, David Bowie Walking Tour NYC

The Bowie podcast I've been searching for!
Finally, the Bowie podcast I've been searching for... knowledgeable Bowie folks speaking in depth and at length about the music itself! With the exception of "The A to Z of David Bowie" (itself loads of fun and a joy to listen to, but with a very different format and focus than this one), every Bowie podcast I've found over the past couple of years has wound up either irritating or boring me, all of them seemingly plagued by some combination of shallowness, wrong information, and/or endless digressions into irrelevancies. ALBUMTOALBUM sidesteps all of these problems to deliver an engrossing, totally satisfying experience for everyone whose life was ever changed by listening to a Bowie album. Keep up the brilliant work.

    The best
I’ve been a huge David Bowie fan since I was a teenager and love to analyze his work. This podcast has proven to be the best Bowie podcast I’ve ever heard and I appreciate the work that goes into it. Thank you very much and I can’t wait for the next episode!!!

    Great start
5 stars for content, 3 stars for quality. I’m a huge Bowie fan and these are very interesting to listen to, but a small investment in better mics and a small multitrack recorder would enhance the quality a lot. Looking forward to hearing more from you.

    Wonderful start, but...
Content-wise, this was wonderful. Very much looking forward to all of these. But as for the execution, get your microphone situation sorted out, please.
