I love this Beatles discussion. I’ve gone back to the beginning. Superb

My favourite podcast. Joyful stuff, charmingly presented. It has made me love my favourite stuff more, and helped me discover loads of solo material I’d never heard. Plus, the Ringo Christmas Album episode had me howling with laughter. But how the heck has the eggpod done that before it’s got to stuff like All Things Must Pass…!?! Thank you so much Chris: this is a real gift.

For too long I have listened… and listened to this wonderful podcast. I’ve submitted five star reviews, but have gone too long without writing about just how much I appreciate everyone of these episodes. I don’t always agree with some of the comments, but more often I do, and I always learn something new from another’s perspective. Like the Beatles albums themselves, I wish these podcasts could go on forever.

An informatively engaging Beatle p’cast, one of three that I enjoy from the numerous ones on the band & that keeps a fairly regular pace at uploading new eps. Shaw’s a good host and draws the guests into comfy Fab-facts chat (tho he sometimes gets lax in correcting their errors, like when Lesly-Ann Jones said Ringo played Uncle Ernie in the Who’s “Tommy” film when it was Keith Moon 😬). Plus he avoids the cognitive inflexibility that afflicts lots of male Beatle fans who cry afoul of anyone citing how human these guys were. Give a listen if you haven’t yet…

BBC lite. Well produced. If the guest is worthwhile and can be enjoyable. Michael Lindsey Hogg was a highlight. Sadly too often it's D list celebrities. Exhaustingly positive to the point no critisim is allowed. The equivalent of eating stale cookies at your grandma's house. sweet but stale. Pls spare us of Samira Ahmed. I would forgive someone chewing on a mouth drop during recording but she's supposedly a professional BBC radio presenter, she should know better. She is incredibly obnixious. She admitted to being a bigger Rutle fan than Beatles and yet she was granted an interview with Paul McCartney. the host, Chris Shaw is a talented interviewer and Paul Mccartney as a guest would be a treat, Ahmed so Beatles and buses right!?! Would prefer to hear guest that have actually interacted with The Beatles, than say hatchlings of BBC4.

I love the podcast but listening to Samira sucking on a lozenge for an hour wasn’t my favorite episode.

I’m a yank(er) and I have no idea who host Chris Shaw is, except he’s got a great voice and really enjoys his guests and has great conversation. Tres tasty!

What a Herculean effort, delivered with insight, warmth, and humor.

I’ve always loved this podcast, but Chris Shaw’s coverage of the Get Back documentary is beyond the beyond. It is spectacular — an auditory day by day treat that has helped me savor this major Beatles event like nothing else. By inviting so many different guests to comment on the documentary, he is providing a stunning kaleidoscope of views on both the film and the band. One of the high points of my evening whenever a new episode is released.

Along with Something About The Beatles and Nothing Is Real, one of the best Beatles pods around. Chris Shaw knows absolutely everything there is to know about the Fabs, but he’s the most modest Beatles know it I’ve ever come across. His guests are fun and bring their unique perspectives to each episode. Great listen!

The Episode #74 on the Revolver album was amazing. Listened to that one twice. Overall, all episodes I have listened too have a good combination of basic fan service and more in depth analysis of the Beatles music.

Such great enjoyment I get from every chuckle I hear. As an American, I have to admit that I don’t know anyone on this podcast! But, my goodness, I feel at home here as a longtime Beatle fan. I’m getting obsessive again! And I thank you for that, sincerely.

Chris Shaw is a great conversationalist and he brings interesting guests and encourages them to share their love and insight into the Beatles. Worth going back to the beginning and catching all the episodes.

After listening to the conversation with Ian Leslie about Paul McCartney and then reading his article: 64 reasons to Celebrate Paul McCartney, I am so glad that I chose to subscribe to I Am the Eggpod. Ian confirmed for me why I have always been an unapologetic Beatles geek whose favorite is Paul.

I found the Ian Leslie podcast to be deeply enjoyable but unshakable moving. What an incredibly thoughtful expression of his joy of these Paul McCartney songs. Every Paul McCartney fan should listen to this episode.

Fantastic podcast on the Beatles

This podcast would be good enough if it were just host Chris Shaw talking About Beatles albums as he is engaging and knowledgeable. But Chris seems to have a never ending supply of great guests who always come to their topic prepared and with enthusiasm. Especially for an American like me who previously didn’t know of many of these people, it is a treat to be introduced to them. Once he runs out of albums to cover, hopefully Chris will keep the format going on other Beatles topics.

I love this podcast. Wonderful show. One of the best Beatles pods out there. Incredible guests especially Samira Ahmed. Keep it up.

I love Plastic Ono Band album but I enjoy your guest ‘hating on it’

Music podcasts seem to fall in one of two camps. They’re either chocked full of intricate details and delivered in a very matter of fact way, or they fall under fun entertainment. I have a few that I like of both of the differing styles, this podcast I think does a very good job of combining both. Worth a listen. If you’re a casual fan you’ll learn some stuff along the way, and if you are knowledgable about all things Beatles, you’ll be entertained. Great choices in guest hosts as well.

If you’re a Beatles fan, you’ve got to give this podcast a listen. It’s entertaining, informative, and fun! I love Chris and his guests. A great show. Keep ‘em coming!!

What is going on here? I am so tired of the latest assumption that Lennon was a junior member in the Lennon/McCartney relationship. In fact, I am sick and tired of the John v Paul debate, period. They were Lennon/McCartney! Or, fine, McCartney/Lennon. You want my top 12 Beatles songs, fine, you know there’s no Let It Be, or Yesterday, on it. Does that make me a horrible person? No. Moreover, I don’t think Lennon ever did anything unforgivable. (And, I suspect you folks know that, too.) But, times as they are, it’s obviously a Paul period. Fine. But, never forget the amazing influence John had on 20th (and 21st) century culture. Good grief! You want a song at a moment’s notice, or a song to sum up life’s moments: John’s your guy. John offered All You Need Is Love. Paul offered All Together Now. Please. Please Please Me, A Hard Day’s Night, Help were all on the spot purpose written songs on a deadline that are some of the greatest songs of the 20th century. And, then there’s Revolution (that all the other Beatles fought him on, endlessly), but is still seminal. Oh, and then there’s Imagine, Give Peace a Chance (which Lennon SHARED a credit with McCartney on!), that IS THE PROTEST SONG! Much better in that setting than Let It Be (which McCartney uses at nearly ALWAYS the most inappropriate moments.) Why doesn’t McCartney do Give Peace A Chance, ever? He gets the royalties on it. And, for crying out loud, Lennon wrote Grow Old With Me. Which is performed at weddings all over the world. Lennon and McCartney WERE BOTH GENIUSES. They are like Shakespeare. Why do we have to tear one down to pull one up. Lennon wasn’t that AWFUL a human being, to say the least. Why the Paul “crowd” have such a terrible inferiority complex really just says to me, “Your slip is showing” Good night.

I’ve been bouncing around to different podcasts about the Beatles, and recently found yours. I’ve listened to 4 or 5 so far and have enjoyed them immensely! Your guests are great, all very knowledgeable and each bringing a unique insight. And they all clearly love the Beatles as much as we do! Keep up the great work!
