    Favorite Podcast
While the podcast is marketed as a production podcast, it’s equally about motivation and inspiration. I’ve never listened to an episode without gaining a new perspective on life or being uplifted in some way.

    More than Music
This podcast is literally one of the best podcasts that I have ever listened to. Brian presents value to both music production, motivation, and personal psychology to help you achieve goals. He gets some very impressive guests on the show that delve into their techniques and secret workflows. Every podcast is timely, without unnecessary words and filler, and covers a wide variety of necessary aspects of music production and how to execute on personal creativity with finished products. Thank you Brian!

    Solid, sound advice
And solid advice about sound. Very practical information and fantastic interviews. Give it a try if you want to take your music up a notch and produce on a higher plane.

    Yes!
Tommy Zee Episode had me finally writing a review even though I’ve been hanging out with you for I think a couple years now. You guys hit on so many good points and reference so much awesome stuff in that episode. Keep it up you’re an amazing dude, and when my son gets older I hope hope hope he ends up with a teacher like you in his life. Take care Brian thanks man! -Matt

    It’s just music!
I have thought for the longest time in order to be great at something, it’s recognition that solidifies your hard work and talent as a beat maker, producer, singer, songwriter...whatever. I’m here to let you know that it still is, I just don’t care anymore. I’ve pushed myself in the studio to unmeasurable lengths to get “that sound” I wanted or to get that vocal just right. I put myself in front of all the right people, and it didn’t turn into success. There are so many other things in my life that are a success and wouldn’t trade them or it for anything. After listening to this podcast I have never had so much fun and the willingness to learn more and grow. I almost erased all of this because it’s just a review, but $&@! that I needed to say this. Listen up youngins your gonna leave some blood, sweat, and tears in this becoming a production artist thing, but after this maybe not as much! Thank you Mr. Funk, the my journey has only just begun

    Best music production podcast
I love how the host thinks deeply and speaks about human experience as well as providing practical tips, tricks, and lessons on how to produce great music. That is not to mention the entertaining guests he chooses are fantastically helpful as well. This is by far and above the best Ableton and production based podcast! Go Brian Go!!

I am now a big fan
Brian got me into the Jamuary challenge this year, which was great. The recent episode with the CD baby guy was pretty incredible. He always has great guests and great topics.

    A long time favorite
This podcast is truly a fantastic exploration of music, sound, and the many questions of the modern artist. Been listening for years now. Still offers me so much.

Thanks for the interviews and insights!
After being away from making and recording music for years, listening to you and your guests have helped bring me up to speed with the current methods and technology. Listening to others who have have created and produced their own music is always motivating to me.

    Session time
Like the topic and hearing from experienced synth players. Sessions could be 30 minutes instead of an hour, with more talk/sound mix structure to the program. Thank you for this making this podcast. Jared

    Back at it!!
I really enjoy this podcast. Like you I had become extremely relaxed with making music (which I love) but I have gotten back to it within the last week after listening. Thank you SO much!!!

Like I'm listening to a friend!
Hi Brian, I live in the middle of nowhere and know not a single person who produces music. I can't talk to anybody about music because when I do, they think I'm crazy and obsessed, so finding you is awesome! Love how you get really personal and introspective about the struggle of making music and how to maximize productivity. Your tips are really helpful! Thanks for keeping it real and down to earth. I've been following you since 2011 when I first started producing music. Your Ableton Live packs really helped me out and I still use your AfroDJmac vocal effects rack! And your YouTube tutorials and podcasts are tremendously helpful and hilarious!

A uniquely personal podcast about music production like no other
Brian Funk has become the mentor/life coach I never though I needed. It still astonishes me how he touches on the smallest minute details of the personal things we routinely do without ever knowing we are doing them. If you use ableton or are into music production this is that breath of fresh air that you have been needing for finding your happy place amongst the masses. I absolutely love how oddly personal and self reflective this podcast becomes at times. It is unique like no other.
  • Facerocketz
    Thank you.
Listening for about a year now, one of the best motivational music/production podcasts out there.

    Great Content Overall
I was searching for a podcast like this and was pleased to find this one! It’s a great resource of information and inspiration for me personally. Brian does a great job at talking about different points and perspectives in the music production business and of it being a hobby, like myself. Love your stuff, Brian, keep it up.

The guy goes hard in the paint.
Podcasting is not easy. Let alone doing so while being entertaining and informative. Our buddy Brian does both. Keep up the good work brother.

    Informative, thoughtful show
Brian's thoughtful way of engaging his guests really makes this a pleasure to listen to! He reaches out to people all across the business, front of the house and behid the scenes. An excellent use of time. I found him through is AfroDJMac store on GumRoad where I've purchased many of his musci patches.

    MORE FEMALES!!
Thanks for your podcast, man, but would love to hear from more female producers and musicians.

    I like it
What can ya say? If you’re into music production, or getting into it, you want to absorb as much content / inspiration as you can. There are somethings of course, inherently, with something as technical as production / Ableton that is hard to translate to podcast form. Brian does a great job at hitting the high level concepts that can help you in being more productive as a producer / beat maker. One of the episodes, i think it was ‘thoughts on finishing songs’, was great. So many good takeaways from that one. i would recommend anyone listen to that. I think Im getting a good amount of inspiration from this, and I think a lot of other folks could as well… I wouldn’t mind, since its an audio format, maybe some more examples of sound designs, or even some examples of some of his racks/kits.. typically, the intro music is the only sound thats not dialog.. still enjoy it tho, keep up the great work Brian, you’ve helped me to keep progressing, evolve as a producer beat maker, and helped inspire me to release things.. 👍

    More than just production advice
Brian’s podcast is my absolute favorite thing to listen to lately for two reasons. First, I’m a novice producer who has a lot to learn on the subject so it’s always educational for me. The other reason is his focus on the philosophy of hard work, success, and achieving happiness. As a 23 year old in my first job out of college I’m just starting to explore what happiness could be for me in life and how I could achieve it outside of the cookie cutter: “desk job, marriage, kids” lifestyle that most parents tend to push on us. Production is something I’ve always wanted to try and just finally pulled the trigger about a month ago and this podcast is giving me a lot of motivation to keep at it. Thanks Brian keep doing your thing!

    Enjoyable and Informative
I have been writing music and doing production for about 30 years now. I found this podcast just to see what was out there for music production and I think that Brian is doing a great job of describing exactly what it is like to produce music, giving out great tips, and overall just a really good podcast. I really appreciate the "just do it" attitude (Podcast #1) - so true! Keep it going man!

    Thank you afrodjmac
Ive just been listening to chapter 3 and it is exactly what I needed to hear. It's the advice I keep giving to my friends and peers, but I'm holding myself. I'm going to start live stream jam sessions with ableton and push. And I'll remind myself I am not a mastering it, I keep learning and making mistakes. Thanks! 🙏🏼

    Very Chill
Brian stimulates great conversation and thought with the topics and guests he chooses. It's great to know others struggle with a lot of the same challenges in music production, and this podcast highlights some great techniques for overcoming these obstacles

    Don't miss this podcast!
I have learned so much about music production from AfroDJMac over the years -- the majority of Ableton performance techniques I use were picked up from his brilliant tutorials on YouTube, and then his more extended courses on his website. Now he's giving us a podcast?? Brian is an inspiration with his intellegence, openness and generosity. I would not be the artist I am today without his influence. Don't miss this podcast

This podcast is honestly great for every level of musician or someone starting to learn EDM producing, one of the few podcasts I have to keep a notepad near when I listen. So much quality tips and content. Great job Brian!

    A much needed podcast
Brian Funk is very knowledgeable and humble. This podcast fills a space that no other podcast did before, and I can’t wait to listen to it every week. Additionally, if you work with Ableton, check out the instrument packs he puts together, you will be doing yourself a favor! ---Keep up the great work, AfroDJMac!

    Great and Inspiring
It's only 4 episodes in but so far I'm really loving this podcast. So far the episodes have mostly been inspirational ideas and ways to go about (and finish) the creative process. Really looking forward to seeing this show develop. Great work!

    All-around great.
ADJMc is fantastic. I've followed him since I switched to ableton. Technical and aural advice; from book recommendations to detailed live set-ups. So glad he's doing this now.
