    Pete Smissen’s Aussie English a Ripper!
    I’m a recent migrant to Queensland from the US and I wanted to tune my ear to the Aussie accent and I found Pete Smissen’s “Aussie English” podcast. Pete’s approach to teaching is both humorous and patient; he fills his lessons (over 1200 to date) with lively anecdotes and useful drills on aspects of Australian English pronunciation that can challenge neophytes’ ears. His recent podcast “Australian Immigrants: What Shocked You When You Moved Here?” presented a change of pace episode; we got to listen to Pete’s Standard Pronunciation vocabulary and accent responding to stories of moving to Oz as listed on a Reddit subgroup. He’s the real deal and I gain useful information and insights into Aussie English with each episode.

    Much needed podcast for ESL learners
    I was so happy to find out about The Aussie English podcast! So much of the English teaching world nowadays focuses on American English, with the result that Australian English (my favourite) gets little to no exposure. The podcast host does an awesome job of explaining terms, explanations and common English mistakes in easy language and has a great voice, speaking speed, methodology, and accent to listen to! Looking forward to more episodes, mate! Thanks for the great work!
