Girl RenaissanceLOL Funny! After listening to Drew Hayes’ and Robert Bevans’ books, the internet finally got its act together and led me to this podcast. People now think I’ve got yet another screw loose. Trust me. Don’t listen to this around people inclined to challenge your claims of sanity. Specifically , I made the mistake of listening to this while walking to my office. I burst out laughing more times than I could count only to be reminded by the people staring at me that only I could hear this story of utter ridiculousness. 🤪🤣😂🥰

PaulognaGreat podcastI don't usually listen to podcasts cause I actually hate ads that much. This ones great. The type of advertising they do is stuff I'm totally ok with, since the reason I found this podcast was through the webpage of one of the authors anyway. It was honestly difficult for me to follow at first, but then I did some of a dnd campaign and I could follow along decently after that. Cracks me up, and I'm still not caught up to current days yet. Wouldn't mind going to a con now that Covid lockdown seems to be on the way out!

trilestry2112Comical reliefI find myself laughing out loud to every episode, which is much needed right now. Thanks guys, thoroughly enjoying this podcast! As I continue on this journey, these guys are always on at my house. It’s like having my friends over, but not being able to talk to them. Looking forward to Nashville next year. Thanks for the entertainment ❤️

LifeisaDragonSmash the world’s shell! One of my favorite podcast genres is “person drags their clueless friend(s) through wild art/history,” and it’s great to see such a podcast on one of the most essential anime ever. The backstory behind this trio covering Utena is pretty endearing, and they have an engaging rapport that never veers into tedium or redundancy. However, it does involve uninformed Westerners discussing anime, so be prepared for the occasional dumb comment. If you’re a random Utena fan stumbling across this podcast, give it a shot! Or don’t. Your agency is important.

KlumzeI enjoy all the authors and its fun to hear them play aroundThe authors really drove me to this podcast but their funny stories, banter and personalities all made me stay. I was a fan of Bevans work and started listing only to find Drew Hayes being the DM. He was another favoirite actor of mine. I have since purchased a book from every author.

BlahblahmumbleWorth the listen!!!!My absolute favorite podcast! Even if you don’t play DnD, the humor is priceless

Florida ManuelD&D played poorly... and often hilariouslyDo you enjoy a good train wreck? Do you watch NASCAR for the wrecks? Do you feel that rpg rules are merely suggestions? Do you believe cremating your enemies grants you their powers? Then this is the role playing podcast for you. Multiple independent fantasy authors play D&D closer to how your games go then other slicker podcasts The campaign starts as Pathfinder but eventually transitions to 5E. I’m the first episode will a character manage to die to a piece of set dressing? Listen and find out.

tzvik15D&D slapstick at its finest.Really the headline for this review says it all: a bunch of hilarious authors playing D&D together. Much shenanigans ensue. That said, there is another dimension to the awesomeness of this podcast: the community. The authors have helped create an amazing, supportive, hilarious community of fans around the country (world?), that they (the authors) engage and interact with daily. Very well done, much recommend!

MRWhitaker563Seriously, listen to this NOW...I get paid around the same time the new episodes of the podcast go up, and I'm honestly more excited over it than my ability to pay bills and buy food... It’s a group of insanely talented, insanely funny fantasy authors, you know, people paid to play make-believe as part of their day job, get to play make-believe together in a fantasy world. This Voltron-like assembly of such a talented roster of people, including the guests, make it one of the funniest things you will probably ever listen to. I’ve laughed so hard that I’ve had to leave public spaces before.

Smythieboy...And now my life is complete! How did I only just now discover this Podcast?! Some of my favorite modern authors geeking out in an irreverent game of Pathfinder (D&D spinoff). Drew Hayes as GM does a commendable job herding drunken cats, and the guys are both hilariously off-the-wall and committed to role-playing the whims of their ridiculous characters. And being introduced to the new (to me) authors is a sweet, sweet bonus!

KraaahfgthhExcellent adviceYou dont have to be a fan of their work to enjoy the hell out if these podcasts. Their advice episode called the mimic chest was life changing for me. True, none if the advice actually worked for me, and i may be in a significant amount of legal trouble, but all in all, solid advice. I now enthusiastically explore every well i come across and treat complete strangers and my wife as useless NPCs. Recently, i bought a horse and are currently training him to be a demon. I just wish they would give pancake recipes.
-
20mls2podunkBooks!If you have read the works of these authors, you will likely enjoy the D & D play and banter between them. Pretty great podcast to space out and let yourself laugh, and they are also generously available when interacting with fans.

XtremetkoCame for the curiousity and came out wanting a TPKI have just recently found the podcast and I was surprised that this wasn't more recommended by others and found your through best actual play podcasts. I have to say that this podcast with the song introduction is just incredible and makes me get excited for the next episode. As for the players and fellow authors, I really hope the GM gets his revenge, specially against the Paladin. That is all in good fun and may Toreg smite him into oblivion. I really do like the characters and one of the hardest things I find in actual play podcasts is differentiating characters and voices. Some games are sometimes too hard to listen to when 2 gamers have a similar inflection and tone which makes it harder to envision them. This is pretty dang easy to tell them apart. Thank you for what you do and I know that podcasts can be thankless at times, but have fun and keep it going!
-
twitchy-husbandGah! I love these guys and don't hate the podcastI listen to at least one of Robert Bevan's short stories everyday as I get ready for bed. I've been doing that for years and I never get tired of hearing them. Drew Hayes is another favorite of mine and I have purchased every word he has ever published. If it were just those two and a bunch of hacks, this would be worth the listen but the whole cast is great and they have a certain charm together which makes this podcast work. While I do wish the quality of recording were a bit better and I recognize they could benefit from a professional sound editor, the product is great for what it is. These authors are some of the best out there and their podcast is worth a listen.
-
EreblothFantastic surpriseI’ve been unknowingly reading a few of the involved authors in this for years and just discovered this podcast. I have not been disappointed and can’t wait to listen to more of these misadventures!
-
TheVel77Awesome!So I started playing D&D in the mid 80s and this podcast makes me recall long weekend sleepover campaigns. These guys are hilarious and witty. I hope this podcast goes on for many more years!
-
w3irdfulHilarious group of guys that always entertain.I’m never disappointed by these irreverent crew.
-
jtcool503Four writers go head to head.Authors, What a funny bunch. the times I have almost drivin off the road to these podcast. no script no problem, Every show is a laugh-riot and I can't wait for the next one.

LostSpartinHilarious!!!!What are the most hilarious things I’ve ever listen to!
-
ToxicslushpuppyThey are truly the best.If you ever dreamed about playing a game that was just fun and funny every second, then listen to this. Drew does an amazing job at making it seem like he is prepared for all of the insanity that happens. All of the players avoid over thinking things and just let the chaos times roll, which is what make this all worth listening. Remember the well! Having now met these guys in person they really are great and deserve all the support!
-
Angry OwlA glorious debacleWhen a group of authors get together for some role playing, you can expect them to create a consistent and coherent narrative in their game. This group in no way meets that expectation. These drunkards can barely remember their character names from week to week, let alone basic details of what happened in the last session. I’m pretty sure I know how to play Pathfinder better than they do, just from listening to them ask the same questions week after week. I love every minute!
-
Diego PasleySounds like your best friends back in the dayRemember playing d20 games back in the day? The crazy crap everyone tried to pull? The terrible die rolls? A DM scrambling every week to drive a story only to have it derailed every time he thinks he has control again? This is just like that. All thats missing from this podcast is pizza and beer...so order pizza and crack open a cold one then press play!

NF6XHilariously IrreverentThis is my favorite podcast. These guys are hilarious. I like most of their books, too.
-
Drew RiniCooler than CoolThese guys are ridiculous, witty, idiotic, and impossible not to love. I've been a fan of Drew Hayes and the hilarious genius Robert Bevan (he IS a genius) for a few years now and I LOVE THESE GUYS!!! I just stumbled upon this treasure chest of laughs and If the game isn't entertaining enough for you, then the chemistry between players and the accumulated nerd knowledge definately will be more than worth your time. Check them out!!!
-
ANM11081895Nat 20 comedyAbsolutely love this podcast! Every couple months I listen from start to present to catch up and just laugh! This podcast introduced me to some amazing authors and I believe I have books written by at least half of them now - working my way up to all of them ;). Just great laughs all around! Never know what they’ll do next!
-
escalator_shoesFunny and probably inebriatedVulgar, geeky fun from some hilarious authors who share my love of fantasy RPGs.
-
bmmcwhirtHow do they manage to survive? This series plays out exactly like you would expect. None of the characters ever folow the path the GM intended and fun humor and chaos. You realy need to listen to this it's had me laughing so hard on several occasions that I have faded from conciousness for a few seconds. Such an amazing group of authors and characters.
-
LJHeydornFunny AF!Drew and the boys do a great job at creating the laughs. Inapporpriate in all the right ways! Keep 'em coming!
-
ViathanFantasticQuickly burned through eps once I discovered this podcast. Always has me laughing when I listen.
-
Mark AnchorFantasticLet me preface with: I am a huge fan of Drew Hayes and his work. With that said, this podcast is extremely entertaining! Drew as the GM creates entertaining scenarios, and the characters the other authors roleplay are hilarious. Definitely recommend if you like Fantasy in any capacity.
-
GhidnebfdchjBestSeriously, I don't listen to that many poscasts but I'm always super excited when a new epiodes goes up. I don't play any tabletop games but there's enough context that it's undestandable without being too heavy on the mechanics like some other podcasts. They authors don't take anything too seriouly, they're just there to have fun and that makes it more enjoyable to listen to as well. The only bad thing about this podcst is that I sometimes have a tendency to fall over if I'm laughing too hard, and walking up a flight of stairs while listening to this got to be a bit too hazardous after a while.
-
rabiddukHow role playing should be doneI wish i was playing in this group! as entertaining as any fantasy novel i have read! i hope they keep this going for a long time!
-
KrondizzleFunnyThat's all you need to know.
-
ValinrookInsanely funny RompThis is such a fun and insane romp that I can not help but binge listen to catch up! I find myself laughing and shaking my head at all the antics in this game. There are times it reminds me of some of stupid stuff from my games in the past. I Highly recommend this to anyone who is or had played D&D or Pathfinder. Hold on to your seat and enjoy the hilarious ride!
-
Max OverloadPathfinder for ProsBi-weekly Pathfinder adventures by some of my favorite authors (and Rob Kroese 😁).

DealerForTheCIADownload this now!If you had told me that I'd have to stop listening to a bunch of authors playing Pathfinder because I was doubled over laughing and at risk of suffocating, I would say you have either an inflated opinion of how funny these authors can be, or that you have a warped conceptualization of what I'm likely to find funny. I mean, how entertaining can it be listening to someone saying things like, "I'm going to attack with my short sword...aaaaaand does 15 hit?" And I would be COMPLETELY WRONG! Not only am I having a blast listening to these guys, but when I was all caught up (I think they were maybe 6 episodes in when I started listening), I went back and started over again. It is the only podcast that I do not have set to auto-delete after I've listened to it. I was slightly uncertain as to how sustainable this was going to be. Then the well happened. I laughed even harder at that one the second time around. I don't remember questioning whether this could work in the long run since then. And with the addition of Brandon Thighmaster to the party, things have gotten even better. HIS ABS HAVE ABS! Drew Hayes is a new favorite writer of mine. I started with NPC's and went on to eat through everything he had on Audible. When I found out he had a podcast, I immediately downloaded it. It was here that I first encountered Rick Gualtieri, author of the Tome of Bill series. I am presently waiting on what, if memory serves, should be the final book in the series. I'd read the first book in Robert Bevan's Caverns & Creatures series, but hearing him on this podcast reminded me of the series and I have since made it through the first three books. So I have this podcast to thank for giving me more amazing series to read. The other authors on the podcast are funny and engaging as well, but either they don't have content on Audible (I just absorb information better through audio) or I've simply run out of credits and they're on my wish list. My only grievance is that it comes out every other week, but then I imagine these guys need SOME time to write. Regardless, if you like Pathfinder, you need to give this a listen. I'm not going to say best podcast ever, except where I said it right there, but certainly one that deserves a larger audience. Remedy that injustice by downloading it now. No, right NOW. Not when you get somewhere with wifi. Right goddamn now! Do it, or I will not be responsible for what happens...which will be that you go on with your day, all the while missing out on this aural magic sauce.

j.eavesSackworthy Bag of FunImagine if you had Terry Pratchett, Douglass Adams, David Eddings, and, perhaps, a few other of your favorite authors over for game night. The game played is Pathfinder, a Dungeons and Dragons-like game. Part improv, part strategy, part comedy, all good listening. Hayes, Bevan, Kroese, Gualtieri, Hartness, Brassey, and Wetherell deliver a perfect dose of light-hearted adult humor that makes me wish I was back in highschool sitting around a table with these guys.
-
Rpittma12Nearly killed myself while laughing!I downloaded the well episode and was listening to it while mowing the grass. The more I listened, the more I laughed, and the more dangerous it got till I had to cut off the episode till I stopped pushing the mower. Started listening because I was a fan of Hayes' NPCs and just got addicted when the barbarian started saying "look, a crazy person and a man who thinks he is a bear"! Keep it up!
-
wardo12Fantastic castThis podcast is brilliant. I tried a few other of the "listen to us play D&D" casts, but the sound quality and/or personalities in those casts were sub-par. These guys raise it to a whole new level. And their books are all pretty awesome too!
-
SugarpuckerListen now! Hilarious! This podcast is hilarious. Not only is the conversation between the authors delightful, but their game choices and the game play is entertaining in every way. Listen. You won't be sorry. Then go out and get their books, because those are awesome as well.
-
Emily2621718Forehead-slapping funEach episode gets progressively worse. And by worse, I mean better. With comedic authors, banter is king, and with this podcast, you get plenty. Very funny.
-
HairyassalaskanHilariousThese guys are hilarious. Good story telling, great role playing.
-
ToeholdComedy Authors Bumble AboutThese guys are creative fun and don't let the slew of natural 1's get them down. It is a great listen as are their books.

MelodiousAccordWhat a riot!I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. I’m a newly-discovered Drew Hayes fan (thanks to the genius of NPCs), and so I’d been looking into some of his other projects when I came across this. I just gotta say that I've had a blast listening. I even brought a friend in to listen with me, and although she didn’t quite understand everything (she has no experience with tabletop gaming, but read NPCs), she obviously enjoyed it as well. It had a somewhat slow start, and the first battle took a while to get through, but the actions, reactions, and good-natured ribbing between players were very entertaining. I can’t wait for the next episode. :)
