PenguinInTheSunHighly recommendThis is my third time listening. Each time I learn something new (or remember something I’d forgotten.) There are some parts of the Bible that are difficult, but Fr. Mike’s strong, kind faith is helpful there. So many more parts bring me joy. I truly believe this podcast has assisted me in developing a deeper relationship with God.

Diane003Awesome podcast!I am not Catholic, but my sweet friend is,and I enjoy and look forward to listening. My sister listens too, and has sent it on to several coworkers. You have a kind way of speaking to God’s children. Thank you, and praying for you.

Linds13😜Incredible, highly recommend for Christians new and oldSo much praise for this podcast Fr. Mike is an excellent reader, first of all, he really puts emotion and good pacing within the bible narrative while sticking to the heart of the scripture’s intended meaning. The Adventure Timeline makes reading much easier to understand, and I am so grateful Fr. Mike always clarifies that it doesn’t matter if you miss a day—whether it’s your first, fiftieth, or hundredth day, it’s great that you’re here hearing God’s Word. What a great way to study the bible at your own pace, or a guided one! God bless!

BeccaBoo1980I understand the Bible so much better!1. I love Father Mike and the way he teaches. I am not Catholic, was raised Pentecostal. But I love listening to the way he teaches and how full of love it is 2. I am 45 years old and I have never grasped a lot of the Bible and what it means until I found this podcast. 3. I’d give 10 or 100 stars if I could

madisonmurphy131The Bible comes alive!I have been studying the Bible for more than a decade now, but I am a recent convert to Catholicism. I’m reading it with new eyes this go-around. I greatly appreciate Fr. Mike’s insight, passion, and commitment to the truth of the Biblical text. I love that he doesn’t shy away from difficult passages, but he also has a gentle hand with challenging topics.
-
KaliMNrkDaily inspirationI’m inspired every time I listen. Easiest way to read and understand the whole Bible. Fr Mike relates the daily readings beautifully to our daily lives and creates a sense of community as he prays with and for those who listen. Jeff Calvin’s helps us understand where each book falls in history and the story of salvation.

I went back to day one of this year and I’m on day 46. Thank you Father Mike!

Sister marymagSister MarymagThis has been wonderful for me. Let it be said that I am a Christian saved by faith and the atoning death of Christ on the cross! What a joy and a blessing to know Him as my savior! I thank you, my brother, for the great work you are doing in presenting the scripture through this podcast. I am sharing it with my husband, my family, and friends, and as many others as I am led to. Your enthusiasm, insight, and joy In the Word is providing strength and encouragement to so many. ga peach 13Bible in a Year for children! This has revived my faith and brought me back to Jesus. It is reminding me of His love and grace! For families it would be wonderful to have something that went along with each reading that is accessible for children and another for teens. It would allow families to grow and share in faith together. God be with you!

wtwaltmanReturningThank you Father Mike for helping me learn to read the Bible. Your insight and interpretation of scripture really help me understand God’s word. I am a baptized Catholic but have not been participating since my divorce. Basic disagreement with how divorced people are not allowed to receive the body and blood of Christ. I’ll leave it at that. However, I have gone back to church. Episcopal, since I am comfortable with the doctrine. I feel a new beginning and a brighter future and you are instrumental in my decision to becoming a better person in Christ. You and Jeff are providing a great service and it is helping me in my journey following Jesus Christ.

AntiquesAddictUpliftingFather Mike does a great job explaining the readings and making some drier parts interesting. It took me over a year to listen to the whole Bible, but it was so worth it. Absolutely love this podcast.
-
pelalozstar88Loving itIf you want to absorb more, listen to Father Mike on 0.75x speed. I have a hard time following people who speak quickly, and slowing each episode has helped a lot with retaining what is read.

Pamela AdkinsA Story To ShareI had started this podcast for a New Years Resolution and continued it for almost a week before I got sidetracked with other things going on in my life. I made it a mission to continue on with the podcast for lent, so I’m playing catch up. I listen to these podcasts at night when everyone is sleeping. Last night, I laid my bible on my bed, and left the room momentarily before I came back to listen to a podcast. When I returned to my room, I noticed that there was a miraculous medal sitting on my bed. No one else was around to put it there. It just seemingly appeared out of nowhere. I added the medal to the St Jude necklace that I faithfully wear, and I take it as a sign from Our Lady that I’m on the right path. I enjoy all of your podcasts, and I find myself looking forward to my bible reading every night. Thank you for bringing joy and enthusiasm to me for reading the Bible. God Bless.

TAL-SClarityI grew up Catholic. Went to Catholic schools from PK to 12th grade. Went to Mass multiple times in a week. Served in all the roles a lay person can. In all those years I’ve never truly had the Bible stories explained to me the way Father Mike has. Thank you. I’m praying for you everyday Fr. Mike, please keep praying for me and all of us that listen and learn from you each day. God bless you
-
A awesome experienceA wonderful experienceThis show has really touched my heart as the priest explains all the Bible readings so clearly. Even though I am in middle school my dad suggested me to do this and I simply did it and I do not regret my choice.

B3@U2328Always newI love the podcast, I struggle with physical reading but I love to follow along in my Bible. I love the explanation of the more tricky wording. And every year it is a new readings rather then just leaving the old recording. The podcast is a great and easily accessible tool to spread gods word.
-

Johnny PicturesFaith as a LensTruly, starting each day with BIAY feels as if I’m consecrating my day, setting a mindset, and applying faith as a lens over my eyes to see my day. I’m so thankful for these readings and the lessons. It is wonderful to be a part of this community.

Hal_246respect from a Muslim listeneras a Muslim I’ve appreciated listening to these readings and analyses of the Bible. I especially enjoy hearing the stories of the Prophets such as Joseph and David and Solomon (Yusuf, Dawud, and Suleiman as they are known in Islam, peace be upon them all). although the Islamic take on their stories is different I like comparing notes. I also like the Gospels so far. Again, Islamic views of Jesus (Prophet Isa, peace be upon him) are not the same but I think even despite the disagreements there are some valuable insights and lessons to take away. Fr. Schmitz seems like a levelheaded and compassionate guy and I respect his perspective. May God bless you <3

VaStarr27Don’t understand why Aaron wasn’t killed?Third year on BIAY and I have a question, it sounds to me like Aaron was just as guilty as the other people worshiping the golden calf since he’s the one that melted down the gold and crafted the calf, why did he get spared when the rest of the people worshiping the pagan god were destroyed by the Levites?
