KaaadieNot for real GIRLS fans.I've only listened to three episodes of this podcast but I'm pretty sure I've heard enough. GIRLS is a funny, smart, honest, and completely unique portrayal of what it means to be a young woman today. Unlike nearly every other show on TV today, GIRLS aims to depict women in the ways they truly exist- both in their storylines and in their casting. The women on this show bate their cellulite, pubic hair, and imperfections without shame or embarrassment. It's a conscious effort made by the show's creators to help change unrealistic industry standards on the female image and it's part of why GIRLS has been so successful. So I was reasonably disappointed and offended when I heard one of the hosts of this podcast, in reviewing episode 8 of the series, making childish and insensitive fat jokes directed at Lena Dunham, the show's creator, producer, and lead actor. It's reasonable to comment on her appearance throughout the show- Dunham intentionally bares it all to shock audiences and get them talking about the female body/image. But taking petty shots at Dunham's weight just for laughs is just catty, judgmental, and completely unnecessary. Fat shaming is a horrible means of oppressing other women by attempting to make them feel shame or discomfort for their looks. I don't want to listen to women bashing other women, and I don't think many real GIRLS fans would want to hear that either. It's sad and inappropriate for these women to body shame Lena Dunham while simultaneously benefiting from her success with their own podcast.

little1fWhat?I'm pretty sure I'm not watching the same show as these girls. They are just as delusional as Hannah.

Jeden814Love THESE Girls! This podcast is actually the reason I am still watching Girls this season. I think I look forward to the host's reviews more than the actual show. It is so nice to hear these awesome hosts telling the real scoop on these characters that honsestly are rarely that likeable...as well as finally giving Shoshana the props she deserves! Fantastic hosts, fantastic recaps. Don't change a thing!

LaLaRue_ChicagoTrying to listen to this podcastI was really excited about this podcast - love the show and thought this would be a nice way to recap the episodes. However, it seems the hosts can't even get the main characters straight and repeatedly mix them up. Also, between the horribly cheesy intro and the hosts trying to be painfully hip and cool I doubt I will be a faithful listener. Such a bummer!
