80'sVillagerDodo BirdIt’s one thing not to know Bezos has a Space company that even took William Shattner into outer space. But Dodo, Trump’s victory was hardly resounding winning only 49.9% of voters even though he was running against the B Team without 81 Million Vote 51% Man Joe Biden.

frankwhitenykingEthan’s found his niche: Podcaster GThe Moynihan interview was Next Level…. Moynihan touching on Marion Barry & the Russian Mafia and NHL ties hit hard for me My guy use to get high with Barry back in the 90’s via his ties to Rock Newman & Riddick Bowe I did Federal Time at USP Lewisburg and played chess with a Russian OC guy who use to tell me how every Russian hockey player was getting extorted. Remember, their families are sitting ducks back in Russia Awesome interview Ethan. Keep it up 🤌🤌

Yck1000House of Strauss-The Best Sports/Culture ListenEthan is a master podcaster who invites friends and colleagues on to discuss issues from both sides of the political aisle. If you haven’t joined the Substack, you’re missing a huge part of Ethan’s fascinating content. I particularly enjoy the behind-the-scenes discussions on sports topics, ranging from Woj to how NBA players really feel about hot-button political issues. Keep up the great work Ethan!

7cb15Stop talking about yourselfYou are not inherently interesting subject matter, talk about topics, let your guests talk. Nobody cares about your self indulgent anecdotes.

KatwarmarIntro Music Is DistractingEnjoying this podcast but almost didn't get past the first couple of minutes because I was worried the weird distracting elevator music was going to play under the conversation for the entire podcast. Please just have the music fade out earlier.
-
Kathleen.DoodlesI don’t even like sportsball…But I really enjoy this podcast. It’s worth listening to the sports banter for me to get to the interesting cultural insights between Ethan and his guests.
-
less music pleaseTOO MUCH MUSICThere is way too much music in this podcast. For example, the introductory music in the Chuck Klosterman episode didn’t end until two minutes after the start of the episode, well after Ethan and Chuck started talking. This sort of thing is really annoying and distracting enough to make it impossible to focus on what is being said.

JeffBleedingAnusSessionsLia Thomas has an unfair advantageLia Thomas has an unfair advantage when competing against biological women. Lia Thomas has benefited from testosterone levels throughout her years as a teenage/ adult male. She has no place in women's competitive sport. Lia Thomas is neither hero nor martyr. Corporate media doesn’t reflect majority public sentiment. We as a majority reject wokeism. I’m no Republican, but I’m done with the Dems.

Hockinson WaGreat podcastYour conversations are excellent along with your guests. I highly recommend this podcast. I heard you on Jason Whitlock and Will Cain. Solid work!
-
Medieval TTExcellentI thoroughly enjoy Ethan Strauss’ ability to discuss multiple sides of issues. House of Strauss is an excellent listen!!
-
bspill1Not badEthan‘s great! Used to be funny. Pretty topical and insightful when not going on and on about the commentary of the commentary of the cultural commentary
-
KeatonelEnough with the substack navel gazingIt is indulgent, please talk about something else

Z. RothDisappointing start.I’ll give it a few more listens because Ethan has built up that respect over the years, but there were some seriously garbage takes on that podcast with Woz. It sounded like a discussion on Reddit.
-
J@mesOReally wanted to like this podcast because I enjoyed listening to Ethan on another sports podcastBut was disappointed to learn that this is just like the myriad other anti-woke and reactionary podcasts out there that are now a dime a dozen. There is sadly a seemingly bottomless market for these takes but it’s lazy, tired, and self-interested. Bummer.

BM12345634One of the bestEthan is one of the most intellectual nba writers and fits well as a podcaster. More Ethan, more Amin, more Tom please.
-
Rico_MontegaQuality 2 starsFrom ESPN to The Athletic. From The Athletic to Substack. From Substack to a sandwich board. Always here for Ethan’s rhetoric and strained logic. 2 stars.
-
pleass stopEthan Strauss should go work in politics or somethingImagine being an nba writer who spends all his time trying to convince everyone the nba is dying.... dude is a fear mongering joke.
-
415dubsfanGuest selectionIs this still Ethan’s podcast, or Amin’s soliloquy? Strauss gets run over all over the place. Amin is ok in sparing amount, but take a breath every now and then so your oversized head is not depleted of oxygen.
-
klaytheistBoooPlease never bring the pajama boys back ever again. Edge diary and Liu are the absolute WORST of fan media. Usually enjoy Ethan’s guests but miss me with this.
-
cbhkweli2 or 3i really really dislike this pod, and most of its takes ... but i keep listening. is that 2 or 3 stars ? gonna go with 2
-
big queensA nice Jewish boyEthan Strauss is the best nba writer and commentator period l. Combine that with the best producer jade hoye and you have the nba’s best podcast. I miss the voicemails but can’t get enough of Ethan, especially for some reason his concern that Killian Hayes might be the French Cam Payne.

ahjaododRaying ratingsGreat host, guests, producer, theme music, and original concept. Really concerned about the public ratings of the athletic as a corporation though, so let me spend the majority of my review discussing that instead. It seems as they because the athletic is having sales all the time how do they make money? I mean surely people aren’t copying and pasting the words to share with each other. It’s not like say, a league pass subscription that you can mirror onto a web server and share the link across the internet for randos to watch games? And that may only count as one view for ratings if league pass counts at all? Eh pod in all.
-
nba fan 123123Ethan Strauss is a jokeThis guy does not know basketball at all. He is the classic NBA media who doesn’t want to analyze the game because he doesn’t know it, and only wants to talk about hypothetical storylines about NBA stars off court drama. Guy is a complete joke and it’s why KD hates him so much.

babarello40Nate Duncan episodeI usually really enjoy this podcast; Ethan is terrific. I felt like he didn't give Nate enough space in this one to really elaborate on his points; I found myself getting irritated every time Ethan cut Nate off in the middle of a response. Let the man talk, and then respond!
-
JamalM510Allie is a superstarShe’s asks such good questions. Questions that us sports fans never really think about because we think “we know” but you never really know something well until you can explain it. Ethan’s cool I guess. MORE DAD TALK!
-
Greg(Name not Greg)FREE ETHANExpectations are high. And they were met. Still expecting that 1st redacted article from the Athletic to be released. That one, the one about Colin

carl strestremskyHouse of straussOne of the best if not the best warriors pods!
-
liprobinsonAllie and Ethan crush it!❤️The latest episode with the long-awaited return of Allie was the best yet! More Allie and Ethan, please!
-
theflash2141GreatEditing my review to say Allie is the unanimous MVP of this pod. She should hold out for a better deal, not quite sure her value is realized lol.
-
yf75Allie RocksLove the Juxtaposition and premise. Ethan and Allie have a fun loving conversation while speaking 2 different languages. As an NBA content junkie It makes me yearn for similar conversations with my wife whom rightly so, is flabbergasted about how much I care about this ultimately insignificant, never ending sports soap opera.
-
roaracleSports version of national enquirerPart of the TMZ sports network this show gives you all the juicy anonymous source drama and intrigue that you not only want but need to distract you from your life. Want criticism of players from someone who has never played and spends the entire game on twitter? You got it! Recipe calls for one part Stephen A Smith because he knows everything about basketball, and one part Dr Phil because he knows what everyone is thinking and whether or not they are insecure or lack mental toughness. Ethan gives you all this and more
-
JT SandersEthan is a unique voice! He’s a great personality that’s entertaining as heck. But there’s a lot more to Ethan and this podcast. Interesting, informed, funny and intelligent. I’m sure there isn’t a personality that is as good as a journalist as Ethan. I’m there isn’t a journalist as interesting as Ethan. There certainly aren’t many in his caliber as writer, and even less of whom that know basketball the way he does.
-
ADSamaniegoGreat critical Warriors/NBA contentAn extension of his amazing writing, Ethan’s podcast is the best place to hear tales of the locker room and unique perspectives on the Warriors and NBA at large.

flyrfnBrilliantThis pod has been a joy to consume. Always smart, always interesting, and takes a look at things from a slightly different angle. The production is masterful, the topics are timely, and Ethan and Allie mix so well together. Selfishly hoping to read more articles from Ethan soon but the pod has been loads of fun.

JimJimsonJrI already had written a review, forgot I did, and wrote another, that's how much I like this pod.I typically listen to two very distinct types of podcast. The first is sports pods, ones that are either highly informative or ones that make me laugh ( and I stay away from ones that take themselves too seriously and are merely ill informed hot takes volcanoes). The second type I would broadly define as culture podcasts. Some are history, some are current events, some are magazine style, some defy easy categorization. Most of the creators either come from NPR or are highly influenced by NPR. Then there is one podcast I listen to, that bridges these two worlds. This one, House of Strauss. Though there haven't been many episodes ( and the episodes come out all too infrequently), the quality of what has been released has been extraordinary. The form of the pod is conversational, conversations between guests and a conversation between Ethan and Allie. Ethan's background is that of a basketball reporter, and he has many contacts in that world and most of the shows are long form interviews. Interviews with famous stars like Steve Kerr, or industry people you may never heard of that wield immense power like Warren LeGarie. Typically (but not exclusively) the episode is on a single topic, and the conversations are about that topic. The topics are always interesting, and Ethan's questions are incredibly thoughtful and often out of left field, asking things few others would think to. Breaking up the interviews is Allie, Ethan's wife. She is not a sports professional, and is barely a sports fan. She comes at the topics as a complete outsider (albeit a highly intelligent one). One might find it curious to have sports novice as a co-host of a sports pod, but Allie's commentary and questions about the interviews are insightful and often funny. Since Allie doesn't come from the sports world, she doesn't have the same assumptions we as fans might have and sees every issue and topic fresh. Its an unusual model certainly, but it works well on the show. Also, I've noticed that many sports journalists, because they are immersed in the world of sports, do podcasts with the assumption that the listener has the same level of immersion. This is most often not the case, and Allie provides a check and balance to that tendency in Ethan. The final piece of the puzzle is the production by Jade Hoye ( formerly of ESPN'/Truehoop TV, and currently of the Count the Dings podcast network, check it out!). Jade is an utter professional and the production of House of Strauss is so far ahead of most podcasts out there. The sound design really matters in listenablity, as many podcasts with otherwise good content simply are unpleasant to listen to from a production stand point. Jade makes sure every episode is polished. I've rambled on and on but, in a nutshell this is a consistently great podcast, and my only criticism are it doesn't come out enough, and there hasn't been a Radio Ethan episode.
-
bwall05Smart and Well-ProducedEthan is a natural conversationalist and gets his interview subjects to engage in some really fascinating topics. Allie asks all of the questions I have and others I wouldn't think to ask but am grateful she does. On top of that, Jade Hoye makes this sound otherwordly. This is a "stop everything and listen" podcast when the notification shows up.
-
jmart2075Smart PodEthan and Allie have great chemistry. Love this pod, it really makes you think and is geniously produced. Radio Ethan is 🔥🛎 this insight is unique.
-
e-book loverGreat podcast - basketball meets lifeI love the behind the scenes takes on the business of basketball, and the terrific chemistry between Ethan and Allie. Jades editing is awesome. The latest one about social media with Steve Kerr and Matt Klinman was really interesting... and somewhat alarming.
-
DStonethrowrExcellenceA fun, intelligent podcast, in a unique form that would make most married people jealous. Ethan has a way with words that kind of hit you like the five-point-palm-heart-exploding technique.
-
