MargueryWow! What an eye opener!I lived through this area and never knew what was going on. Fascinating.

JasonB86Important history to remember & very well toldThis is a great podcast. My dad was a Marine corporal in Vietnam from ‘67 - ‘69, so I’ve always had a interest in the Vietnam War & yet I never really knew this story. Ellsberg is true American hero for standing up & speaking out to expose the lies our govt was telling us. History repeated itself again with the Iraq war, so I hope we can remember this the next time our govt wants to get our country involved in another war & that we stop to question what they’re telling us rather than just taking their word for it. Mark my words, in the not too distant future they’ll be trying to convince us (they’ve actually already begun this convincing in the 50s & 60s) that we’re being threatened by a force that’s from outside our planet - that aliens from another world are trying to destroy us & the entire planet must work together to eliminate this threat. And the real mystery is whether we’ll stop to question that or go along with it.

Chef steve 66Very informativeComing of age in the 60’s I was of course aware of Ellsberg but clearly did not know the whole story . Very interesting and from a historical perspective we can trace the peoples distrust of government with a straight line to our involvement in Vietnam . Looking forward to the next post. After what just happened in Afghanistan, not sure many lessons were learned . And here we are…..

asimmonLearning what I missed as a childI was born in 1962 so I was very young during the Vietnam War, but my parents also shielded me and my siblings from the news. As an adult I am fascinated with events from my younger years that I wasn’t aware of because I was so young and because I was shielded from the news. This podcast looks deeper into the events that happened in my younger years. It’s not just the news and facts of the events but the transformation and humanity of one person guided through the events. It’s also a behind the scenes of the news events which is scary in and of itself but also the possibilities of just how much scarier it could have been if one person, with the support of many others, had not stepped forward into the traffic of the war machine to save the child of our country.

EMBSCA must listen for all citizensEvery citizen of the world should listen to this & be reminded (or taught for the first time) to question everything & value truth at great costs.
-
AlejandroKhanFantastic podcastDaniel Ellsberg is a national treasure and the entire world should be grateful for his bravery.
-
DougieJames1977212214567Must Listen Material for All AmericansWhat an incredibly eye opening discussion. This should be required listening for anyone who calls themselves a patriot. Patriotism isn’t flag waving. Patriotism is doing what Daniel Ellsberg did.

cadoyle_18“Almost Independence Day”I really appreciate the attention to detail in this episode. You feel immersed in Jackson (listening to the cacophony of cicadas and chirps of birds you can almost feel the humidity in the air). It was heartbreaking to hear Marilyn talk about Lee Eric and her loss. And I really appreciate how Eric shares how emotional he was and felt about reporting on the story.
-
Abbie ShullDeadly ForceFantastic episode showcasing the reporting being done by RFA journalists. Looking forward to more episodes.

habibinumber5Love S9 E3This particular episode is a testament to the strengths of the GroundTruth podcast: a mix of news reporting, behind the scenes journalism, and angles on national stories you can’t get anywhere else

WhyyygyfiycusxfAuthentic insight!I’m a journalist, but I think even those who aren’t would really enjoy this because it provides an extra layer of storytelling you probably wouldn’t see in the original pieces, and it provides insight on how reporters work. Love it!
-
musicfan1341Lovers of journalism will enjoy this podI think this podcast offers a little bit of everything — original journalism, inside looks at what it’s like to report important stories and how these events are affecting our society. No matter what your interests are, you’ll find something that you’ll be fascinated by.
-
Emilyjanew36Good, informative storytellingGreat pacing, audio and narrative storytelling. This podcast gives an insider’s look at what is happening in many of America’s communities.
-
mafstannomoreOn The Ground with Report for AmericaI love the behind-the-scenes perspective of the experience behind these major news stories.
-
eventually1Great podcast! As a RFA corps member, I am biased, but I love this podcast. With no shortage of rich, natural sound, it provides such a wonderful, in-depth window into how these reporters see their community. This is how I help explain to people what reporters do, when they’re doing the job right.
-
KnittherapyExcellent reporting! This podcast has fantastic, well researched news stories from around the world and in the US. Can not recommend enough!
-
cutain rodsColleenThis is a beautiful story. It made me appreciate all I have and especially the rain. A wonderful diversion from the horrors of daily news
-
yahya_rSo important these daysAll the distractions that are happening completely overshadow this important foreign relations development.
-
RoloVTMandatory listening!Sure, as a "liberal" Christian, I'm bound to appreciate this podcast. But I try to tune in with a questioning ear. (What wise can a liberal thinker do?) This is an important discussion, no matter what your religious, political or philosophical beliefs are.
-
mqmorrisseyExcellentExtremely enlightening in light of our current politics.
-
Teach-inChristian ZionismThank you so much for this one! So many Americans do not understand this twisted relationship, yet it is fundamental to what is happening in Israel. Excellent work.
-
Steelin' JohnnyImportant StuffThe Christian Zionism episode, like all the others, was not only well done, but critically important. GroundTruth goes where other news organizations are afraid to, or won't go because there are no ratings or money in it. Keep up the good work.
-
Jack_McCoySo, So Good!I’m really impressed by the amount of post-production work that clearly goes into these audio documentaries; far from being boring, interminable NPR stories, they are gripping productions with real sound design, music, and careful editing. If you’re not listening to these with headphones, you’re doing it wrong. And because each episode is so different and unique, you’re bound to find a topic that interests you. Or, if you’re like me, you’ll want to binge them all right away.

Will sing for high fivesThis is why podcasting existsGroundtruth is creating content we should all be listening to right now. Podcasting is at its best when it gives us perspective. Will be sharing this with friends and family this holiday. A perfect time to listen.

Sarizzle12ExcellentVery well done reporting and story telling. Worth a listen!

lucylu6Important issues, told well with great soundI've been looking for more shows to broaden my horizons, to cover what's happening in the world today, not just what's in my FB news feed. So far, this seems to be a great podcast for my collection. The host's voice and read manages to be both serious and engaging - a personal quality to it that's a a nice change from some of the more reporterly sounds of public radio. The production quality is high, which is also refreshing. Sometimes I lose the story in all the description, but I also don't really mind because I'm rewarded with a sense of actually being in the places talked about. Bravo, looking forward to more.
-
lexikon1Gives the sense of being thereThis is a great way to hear stories — when you read the news you rarely get the “story behind the story” from the journalist on the ground. And there are so many things about the experience of reporting that we never hear or see. But with GroundTruth, we can listen! It really gives the listener a sense of what it’s like to be in a place at a certain time, really experiencing news as the journalists themselves experience it.
-
PidiisawesoneOutstanding!I felt like I was actually there in Afghanistan. Kudos to the folks at GroundTruth. This is outstanding!
