    Solid for daily recaps only
The 15 min daily ‘macro’ update on tech-related news is great. Anything beyond headline news in the daily pod is a huge stretch for the host that extends beyond the scope of his SV bubble. Also desperately wants Twitter to not exist so any relative news is lol bias. Update: host has shown his hand that he will be filling your ears with Kamala propaganda this election season

The best source for tech news
A great summary of the day’s tech news, giving context where needed, and adding just the right amount of personal opinion and insight. I have a subscription, which is well worth it to know I’m supporting the podcast, even though I’m not interested in the bonus episodes.

    Awesome!
Brian does a phenomenal job with his research and sharing important insights for today’s tech news. I always look forward to each episode. Highly recommend!

Tech News That Is No Longer Torpedoed by Insufferable, Endless CryptoBro Scam Discussion
Update: The endless talk of the next big crypto scheme has finally slowed down. And everything I said about crypto being a scam down below ended up being true, which he realizes by now, and which is why he finally had to stop talking about it. Since his hand was forced in the matter, the show covers normal tech topics now. I can now fully recommend this pretty smartly done podcast for actually staying up to date on tech news, and have adjusted the rating accordingly. Just don’t go back to your old crypto scheme schilling ways- Deal? Does a decent job of covering tech topics in detail, however his self interest in crypto causes him to shoehorn nonstop crypto talk into every show even though the rest of the world has already figured out it is all a scam and has moved on. Suggestion- Hire an outside editor to remove your inane segments attempting to legitimize the next new dumb NFT/Web 3 scam in each episode before publishing. They could hand back the episode with your crypto rambling still intact, making you feel you’ve done your part to keep drawing in more rubes to lose their money, while the rest of the world is safe from your own misguided crypto cult self interests. Kind of like a self imposed Podcast shadowban.

    Political bias
Not something that a tech news podcast should have, but sadly it does.

Far too many ads and ads are way too long
I’ve enjoyed TRH since soon after it started but recently the number of length of ads are really becoming annoying. I’m seriously considering removing it from my playlist. BTW, the town in MA you have referred to several times is pronounced NAY-TICK.

    Second-rate podcast
They keep cutting off their guest to give me b0ner ads. Mid-word, while talking, d**k ad.

The only way to stay in the know.
Brian gives the best fact based recap of the news of the day. He is one of the true historians of the modern computer age,

Great bite-sized tech news and pinion
In 10-15min, Brian manages to provide a daily summary of the most important news in tech. Perfect for a daily commute.

Best podcast for daily tech news!
As a former computer science major, I have an “invested” interest in technology. The Techmeme ride home helps me stay up to date with clear, concise, well-researched daily tech news and stories. Highly recommend!

My go-to for daily dose of tech
So I’ve been listening to a lot of tech podcasts for years , but the one I just listen to on a daily basis which provides a quick summary of the day’s big tech news, it has to be the Tech Meme Ride Home podcast, you’ll get hooked once you listen to a few episodes.

    Stay out of politics

Quickly catch up on tech industry news
True to the title - I am an engineer and this is an amazing way to quickly catch up on what happened in technology that fits with my busy life. I don’t have time to scroll all day but the podcast catches me up while I cook dinner or ride home. Thanks Brian!
  • EricMLarson
    Headlines with personality, without banter
This fills a perfect niche for me: a "what's going on in tech" that puts the headlines in some editorial context, without the wacky morning show vibe of hosts spending time on chit-chat with each other. (Nothing wrong with that, but not what I'm looking for as I try to stay up-to-speed on whatever the day's news was.) 15+ years ago I could listen to Slashdot Review every morning on the drive in; now I listen to Techmeme Ride Home every afternoon on the drive back and it meets the same need.

    Fantastic daily catch-up
I’ve listened religious for years. I wouldn’t know what to do if this podcast went away.

Best 15 minutes to get caught up on tech news
Brian does a great job at quickly sharing and synthesizing the biggest tech news stories daily. Between this and Ben Thompsons Stratechery I always feel that I have a good grip of what’s news in tech. I really enjoy how he tends to just share the news by quoting a respected source and then adds his take only when its a value add. It’s a good balance because this is the show that I go to for the most up to date daily update but Brian has been around the tech community for a while and can have some really insightful analysis. The only thing that I can critique is that sometimes the weekend update doesn’t really apply to me. Other times they can be really insightful so I’ll just skip the ones that I am not interested in.

    Great show!
I listen every day as it’s an excellent way to get tech news. I have even been turned onto some good products through the ads. The production quality and attention to detail is evident. His pacing is quick, the sound is clear. I can understand Brian in the shower with my little bluetooth speaker and in my car I don’t have to crank the volume up like I do with a lot of big non-self produced podcasts. Thanks Brian!
  • fixallbugsalredy
    Host is way to biased
I’ve been listening to this show daily for at least a year and I’ve noticed that a lot of relevant details don’t get shared when it comes to Elon musk/twitter/x. Only stuff that makes it look bad gets reported on. For example on today’s episode he mentions the media matters hit piece on musk and anti-Semitism but neglects to talk about musks response and how media matters manipulated the algorithm just to accuse him.

Brian keeps us all up to date on Techmeme Ride Home!
Brian and the Techmeme team provide a concise summary of all things technology news on this well researched podcast! It is my go-to for a summary of the day. Highly recommended!

    Essential daily update
I listen to many of the “best” podcasts, and this is the one I make sure to never miss.

    Too Many Ads
Bad use of host read ads. Way too many minutes of ads per episode. The ads are way too long and way too repeated. Seems like an good show otherwise. The host seems smart enough to negotiate a better way to present the ads than this. It’s not this individual show’s sole responsibility, but podcasts need to figure advertising out. I’m listening to fewer and fewer shows because the ads are so often so bad.

    Love it!
Absolutely love it. Best because Brian is not a jerk and communicate soo well!

Great Way to Catch up on Tech News
I listen to this almost every day. Brian is very good at providing timely, understandable and thoughtful analysis, but not commentary, on the tech news of the day. The past experience in the tech area, and of tech history, help ground the news of the day in valuable context.
  • geek2nerd
    One of the best podcast
Best podcast to get updates in technology world every evening. Long time listener. Always precise and crisp.
  • H4nd5omeR0b
One of my favorite daily listens.
The best source I have found for timely, thoughtful tech news.
  • Awesome show!!!!!!
    Great Show! Listen every day!
Really well done show with lots of relevant tech news. Even the ads are interesting and I don’t mind listening to them!

Pls fix the loud ad reads for IHP episodes
The volumes for ad reads are too loud compared to the actual interview on Internet History Podcast episodes

Feedback on interviewsof Jason and Chamath
I find the daily podcast very useful, and listen everyday without fail. The audio quality is always excellent. Which is why I was very surprised at the poor audio quality (very low volume and barely audible) if these two episodes of interviews of Jason and Chamath! Also, I was expecting the interview with Chamath to touch upon many more important issues including valid concerns on his SPAC deals and exits, SPACs vs IPOs—-he had championed the SPAC as a better vehicle for wealth distribution to retail investors, but it mostly vanished in smoke as he cashed out good 🤔

The bias is eye rolling at this point
I’ve been a long time listener of this podcast and have always enjoyed the humor and how it’s kept me up to date. That was until everything with the Twitter acquisition came up. Ever since then it’s essentially been a reverse-Midas touch with any news story involving Elon. I’d half expect a negative review of his own podcast if he found out that Elon enjoyed listening to it.

    Best tech news podcast

The Only Daily I Can Keep Up With
It’s news I care about in an amount of time I can spend every day. Brian has a great nose for tech news.
  • mattsmee
    Great Podcast. One petty request..
I know you can’t possibly know all the pronunciations of everything but 1 thing stands out a lot - Xiao Mi. Or any Chinese that starts with “X”. Please don’t say it like “Jiao” Mi. Just say it like how it’s spelled. The podcast today is full of Xiao Mi news today and I can’t stand it anymore sorry.

    Curated Tech News Done Right!
The amount of time this podcast saves is hard for me to calculate. I love tech news but have grown tired of all the fluff. Brian does a great job of staying on top of what is important but still dipping into trends and popular culture when it’s noteworthy. Kudos!🙏

    How we “keep up”
Thanks to Brian’s research, I know what is going on in the technology world.

    Interest But Odd
The boys discuss a wide range of tech topics. As a non tech person who enjoys knowing. They really open the door to the world of tech with extra emphasis on startup ecosystems and cultural transformations led by tech. They can get a bit clumsy and out of their element when stretching outside of tech. And for a tech podcast, they have the worse possible audio connections. Audio drops, feedback, and hot mic eating noises abound. I’ll keep listening to know more, but they have work to do.

Top tech news distracted by crypto
I’m a longtime subscriber. Brian puts together a top-notch daily recap to let you know what’s happening right now in tech — when he’s not distracted by the latest crypto/NFT financial whatnot. reddit.com/r/literaciafinanceira/comments/upgwq5/

Not really a tech podcast anymore
As of late I'm fatigued by this podcast's constant spam stories about NFTs, "investing," VCs, startups, and tech-bro culture. This is not what a tech podcast should be all about. Please reign it in and discuss real objective tech news as opposed to the "Silicon Valley culture" side-stories.
  • P-blizzle$$$
    My favorite tech podcast
I work in the tech industry and it’s my job to stay up with the tech industry, so Brian is doing his part in making me look good at me job.

This is for you if you want someone to say BORED APE a hundred times an episode
This guy gets fixated on some phrase BORED APE and just repeats it BORED APE over and over BORED APE again. BORED APE. He will do this for weeks BORED APE on end BORED APE and will just keep saying the phrase BORED APE even when it is unnecessary BORED APE. His sentences BORED APE don’t even make sense anymore BORED APE. Additionally, BORED APE, the thing he glams onto is invariably some new form of jackassery BORED APE that everyone will have forgotten about a month from now, like BORED APE. Then he makes it the BORED APE lead story, while everyone else is laughing at the fools who fall for this BORED APE scam. It kill’s me that a grown man falls for this kind nonsense over and over. Get medicated, dude.

Seems like the podcast is just an ad
I initially enjoyed this podcast. However, within a week a feel like this 20 minute podcast is actually full of ads with only 3 mins of content.
  • itoonsrevyoos
Sadly no longer worth the listen
As a long time ride home listener, it’s pretty sad to see what’s become of the podcast. Instead of reporting actual tech news, it’s daily updates on sideshow Twitter disputes buffeted by a massive amount of advertisements. The podcast now misses both the forest and the trees by, when not consumed by the most recent inane personality driven non-event, by devoting most coverage to the perpetual next big thing, from clubhouse to venture capital to crypto and NFTs, with copious and extremely blinkered and Ill informed editorializing. I can’t help but notice that the precipitous decline in quality happened around the same time as Brian started tinkering with new show formats, monetization schemes, and finally a VC fund. On the lookout for a decent replacement now.

    A Great Tech Round-Up
Brian does a fantastic job of keeping me up-to-date with the essential tech news. Don’t know how I’d be keeping up with it all without this show!

    Short and Sweet :-)
Well written and informative, I could not imagine staying in the know without it.

    Thanks Brian!
This host does a great job at bringing the show’s audience all the latest tech news. Quality production, keep it up!

    Used to Be Good
This podcast used to be so good. It was a great summary of “what you missed today in the world of tech.” Now they litter the feed with long rambling recordings of Twitter Spaces (complete with technical difficulties and terrible audio quality) and schill investment opportunities. It’s not just a lack of focus. They polled their listeners to see if people wanted this other content in a separate feed, which of course the overwhelming majority did. They then went ahead and continued to dump this crap in the main feed anyway. This blatant disrespect for their listeners’ preferences and time has me looking for another source for tech news.

    Pronouncing Chinese names correctly, please!!!
I thoroughly enjoy your podcasts daily, for many years. Enjoy it all, except when you mentioned any Chinese tech companies or executives’ name, that is. It’s excruciatingly incorrect and appalling whenever you confront ‘X’ or ‘Y’. Xiaomi, Xi Jinping, Eric Yuan, Jerry Yang, and numerous examples. Please please please, if you can’t quiet master mandarine, how about just saying it in the most simplified (but close) way by pronouncing ‘x’ as ‘s’ in ‘sea’ and ‘y’ as in ‘yellow’? Thank you for all your other relentless, complete research for a daily comprehensive, enjoyable coverage!
