    3rd time through
It's been many years since I first listened but in still a fan. It starts off slow and the presentation takes a little while to get used to. However, I found it well worth the listen. What I first considered "flaws" grew to become part of its charm. Love it!

    Great premise, poor execution
I love the concept, which is the parents' greatest fear, that D&D players will take the game so seriously that they won't be able to tell what is the game and wihat is reality, when the reality is that they are trapped in the game world. Do they choose to act as their characters, or as themselves? And what if those characters want to override their normal personalities? Do they allow it or fight the internal characters to be themselves? Kirk Warrington handles all the voices, and does a good job of protraying them. Unfortunately, he has some problems pronouncing certain words correctly. This can get confusing, and I have to back up and replay the word several times before I get it. Katana is the most often mispronounced word, but by no means the only one.

    Fantastic!
Story really brought me in. Wish there were more books, though. I really enjoyed this.

    Great long adventure
I really enjoyed the story and characters. The pronunciation of a few words did get to me at first but I am glad I did not let it cause me to drop this podcast. These words were katana and bouy (spelling incorrect) that I noticed. In the Q&A episode pronunciation and pauses were explained. But the pauses were not something I really noticed. For the Clue edition by anonymous I thought it was funny. Nice short story. I love the long episodes and the ending to DA. I would like to hear a DA2. I hope enough people message Kirk with me to get it. Check out Kirk's podcast short story The Show about werewolves (also good).

Will there be a second Dark Age?
I loved this story! It kept me interested and entertained. I enjoyed the different characters especially Kev and Vaughn and thought overall it was a great adventure . I really hope Kirk does a part 2.

    Very interesting concept
There are some issues with the way he pronounces certain words that can be a bit distracting, but that's no dealbreaker on this one. I listen to podcasts at double speed, and combining that with the way he talks it came out sounding more than a little Shatnerish, but again, that's really just a minor quibble. On to the important stuff: It's a fascinating concept, that I'm sure all gamers have considered at one time or another. What would it be like to be transferred into your campaign, actually as your character? While the depth the author explores this varies from character to character (some characters are never explored, and most of the story comes from one characters perspective), when it /is/ explored, the author does a great job of it. The world as presented is very colorful, and full of life, and at no point does the author seem to forget that it /is/ a campaign world. When the characters start moving away from the "plot" the world itself opposes them (in the way many a passive-agressive GM has through the years), character backgrounds tie the characters together as well as to the plot, and... well, you can discover the rest as you listen. All I can say is I sincerely hope the author decides (as he suggested) to present Dragon Age 2 at some point. :-)

    Hard to listen to
Ok storyline but I couldn't even make it halfway through. The reader mispronounces so many words and the flow of the reading is so uneven I had to listen at double speed.

    Great Idea. Poor Recording
I really enjoyed the idea of this book. The story was fun and enjoyable but it was difficult to get past the recording. The reading is very stilted and halting. It was very distracting and took away from the story. I would like to give the story 4 stars and the reading 1 star.

    Fun to listen to!
I love rpgs and this was a great narration of a gaming adventure. I expected something along the lines of the movie The Gamers, but this was much more interesting. Very descriptive and a story that draws you into the game world. "We have a winner!"

I didn't want it to end
This was a great book that had me laughing, sitting on the edge of my seat, then laughing again. It had everything I was hoping for and more in this fun adventure. The characters were great and added so much with the different paths they took. I am not a role playing gamer but I found myself making my own Dark Age character. Thank you for the story Mr. Warrington it was one of my favorites.

    It's OK
Like I said it's ok, not good just ok. Would probably have been better with a different person reading. As a gamer it was below average. Also it's pronounced Kah-Tah-Nah not Cat-In-ah, I just wanted to keep asking "Cat in a what? Tell me already!" My god it got so grating on my nerves, and toward the end he just kept saying it every minute or so.

    Ok Story, Difficult Presentation
The story had an interesting premise, but it was extremely hard to listen to it without cringing. The worst part of the presentation is the constant mispronunciation of words. There were MANY words mispronounced, but the ones that really started to grate on my nerves were the ones that came up a lot and were mispronounced EVERY time. So, if you have a pet peeve about correct pronunciation like me, do yourself a favor and don't subscribe to this one. If you are a forgiving soul, it's not the world's greatest story, but it's not bad, so it may be worth a listen.

    Interesting story concept
As a gamer, I liked the concept of moving from Real Life into the game. Unfortunately, I didn't feel the author was able to consistently deliver on the premise. The story meanders, the characters are too similar to allow any real connection to be established, and the voicing doesn't help to distinguish them to any degree. There are issues with pronunciation which are distracting to listen to repeatedly, and I finally gave up after 20+ episodes. I very much appreciate the phenomenal amount the work that must go into each and every episode, especially for free. I can't say I'd recommend this book, however.

    Great Even For Non-Gamers!!!
I have nothing but wonderful things to say. I have never played anykind of role playing game and listened just out of curiousity. This story pulls you into a world of "danger at every corner"! Great plot and humor. My only question is - Kirk, what are you going to write next? Let me know!
